  1. I have a 78 with an r200 and can not figure out how to remove the stub axles ? some trick I am unaware of ?
  2. no one know the application this master comes from !? someone has one and you have to know what it was intended for, c'mon peeps
  3. anyone know what year datsun truck the 13/16 master cam on ?
  4. not as cheap as I thought, the guy that priced me on the phone was not there, I think he quoted me the dealer price ? anyhow it brok down like this: N2-2-899-1 29.96 Tax 1.80 Freight charge 5.05 Total 36.81 not what I was expecting, but I am guesing freight would be about the same to your door, if this is better than you have found local the name of the shop is Republic Diesel and they can be reached at 1-800-292-5565 they are located here in Louisville, KY by the way the part fits so I have the right pinion flange
  5. can't remember the name of the shop just a local shop specializing in yokes, was actually referred by a local 4 wheel shop, I can not tremember name right now but when I pick it up I will post the name and phone number if you like
  6. thanks for the info tomahawk, thats what I needed to know, and yeah I ordered the part already should be in this week, good price to only $27+tax
  7. diagonally on what ? the flange face ? the bolt holes ? what and where exactly am I meansuring ?
  8. ok so I know there are 2 types of the r200 one is 2.0 and the other 2.25 but where is this measurement coming from, I measured the diameter of my pinion and it is like 1.0 what do I need to look at to see if mine will work ?
  9. well acording to the msd web site their "msd high pressure electric fuel pump" is "Capable of 43 gph at 40 psi" and acouding to autoperformanceengineering the Walbro 190ltr/hr " 155 ltr/hr at 40 psi. " and the Walbro 255ltr/hr "These pumps flow 255 ltr/hr at 40 psi" and acording to a conversion website 43 gallons =162.8 liters so that makes it a bit larger than the 190 but still quite short of the 255 but I am only shooting for 300hp so I am thinking the msd pump at about half the cost should do the job, unfortunately msd does not list a peak pressure, but they tend to make a quality product and stand behind anything bearing their name
  10. not planning on needing a full 100psi just looking for one capable in that event of, with nitrous it pressurises the fpr on top of the boost condition to up the fuel flow to compensate for the additional air being introduced via the nitrous, I don't want a pump thats gonna quit when the pressure starts building, looks like the msd unit will meet my needs I think, it out flows the 190lph but falls a bit short of the 255, but at that price I am hoping it will do the trick, will be running full compliment of guages to monitor a/f ratio, will find out if it can handle it
  11. oh, and yeah pulling the e-brake adjust them as he described it with a screw inside the piston
  12. I have an 85 300zx n/a and had the same problem when I replaced my rear calipers, the problem is that nissan in their infinite wisdow did not put the bleeder at the highest point, so what I had to do was remove one calliper at I time wedge a board in the calliper and hold it in a position with the bleeder at the top and bled as normal, solved the problem for me, good luck
  13. ok why I need so much fuel, I am installing in my 280z a turbocoupe 2.3 turbo and cranking boost to about 30psi and myabe even some nitrous, will i need 100 psi not likely but running that kind of boost and maybe a little nitrous, I want to be damned sure I do not lean out
  14. not the 300zx rears, the 300 zx uses shocks and not struts in the rear so that will not work, unless you plan on using 4 front strut inserts, just thought you might want to know before you order a pair of rear 300zx "struts" and can't figure why they sent you a pair of shocks that will not work
  15. where can I find a large as in about 255lph high pressure as in 90 to 100 psi, external fuel pump, best I can find is about $200 there has to be a better deal somewhere !?
  16. I have all the diagrams, fische and manual, just need a tram now, anyone know of a place to get one used or at least cheap, over $200 from my normal shop supplier
  17. I know you guys will think I am nuts and I think maybe I am too but, I am thinking of taking the back half from my 78 from the factory welds and attaching it to the front of my 77 at the factory welds, anyone ever do anything this severe ? the front of the 78 has creased firewall and lower drivers al pillar is pushed in, pans shot, inner front fenders and strut towers toast, back looks good, and the 77 has a quarter that apperas to have been brass brazrd on by a blind man , does not line up at all, this would be partially because the whole package shelf area is pushed about 1/2" forward, so am I completely nuts ? any advice or good info ?
  18. beg borrow or rent a mig welder, makes a ton of difference, with a buzzbox your gonna have to fight to keep from burning holes and your gonna have to contend with slag, mig makes a nicer cleaner easier job of it, just my $.02
  19. thanks for reply jumbo, I am guessing the 4cylinder 2.3 uses a smaller bellhousing and hopefully will clear, any guess on if my oe master will work my slave ?
  20. what no info !? no snappy retorts !? you guys disappoint me, c'mon some of you have 5 speds how is the clutch hooked up ?
  21. a lot of people at z31.com have done that, might want to check there for more info
  22. I am putting a 2.3 turbo from an 87 turbocoupe with the world class t5 into my 78 280z, I know this is the v8 ford section but thought you guys might be able to help,so a few questions, how do you guys run the hydraulic for your clutch ? the t-coupe uses only about 1/2 inch stroke, can't be far from datsun stroke ? is the wiring in these integrated to the whole car or is it a seperate harness for the engine compartment and ecu ? just trying to plan out what I am gonna need to do, any ideas suggestions, helpful links ?
  23. z20 was also found in the 82-83 stanza, I had one my first nissan datsun product that started my infatuation, also broke my pelvis in 2 places when I totaled it, I miss that car, quite peppy but a pig on the corners
  24. thanks for the link, kinda funny though with all the odball rare engines listed they did not have the L6 ?
  25. ok I have done a search without much luck, everyone know that the sbc weight about 120 lbs more than the L6 but what is the actual wieght on these motors ? need to know in weighing my options
