  1. I have the ability to do them at home. I dont have a sublimation printer. So I can not print on shirts. I do that a cutting plotter and heat press. So I can do simple type of designs. Multi color is no issue. The logo posted by ihavearustedZ are easily done. If this is something everyone would be interested in, I have no problem taking it on and making it happen. I can also do stickers or banners.
  2. I have the ability to make shirts and hoodies. I have all the equipment at home. I’d be down to do them for anyone interested. No need for a preorder! What logo would everyone like?
  3. Last night I found myself laying in bed with my mind racing, just thinking I could do the something similar. I go and google it, and bamn I find this thread lol. Well I have all the parts to build the same sort of setup. Its just nice to know someone else has done it and that its also possible. Once again, HybridZ to the rescue!
  4. damn thats not a bad deal. send me some pics of them ahoscheit@gmail.com I want to try and track down a 4th before I commit. Thanks!!!
  5. I just wanted to update this tread. The shell has been parted out due to rust issues. I have since picked up a 280z shell that got all the 240z parts. check my other thread for current updates.
  6. Car looks great! its coming along quite nicely! So I do have a question, Would you be willing to sell the hub caps that came on the car?
  7. I found myself in a huge down pour last night. Ive never thought twice about an upgraded wiper motor till then. I could not see past my hood! I actually had to pull over and let the storm die down. It was crazy, the wipers were moving so slow that I could not see parked cars on the side of the road!! Needless to say, Ill be sourcing a newer motor ASAP!! thanks for the info on the swap.
  8. basically all the info ive read is just to swap to a S13 harness and dizzy and ecu... so unless I can find info on the OBD2 harness, I guess thats what will happen.
  9. When I finally begin tracking down all my turbo swap parts.. ordering a "rebuilt" cyl head dont sound so bad. If you take into account that most used p90 heads are $300-500 on average, factor in the fact that its all rebuilt and all you have to do is bolt it up.. thats a killer deal
  10. although after reading some reviews on "power torque" I dont think id buy anything from them. I came across threads (just googled) deals with all sorts of brands, chevy, ford, dodge.. and all had one thing to say. DONT BUY ONE! haha, their warranty claims are a joke. but maybe just a cyl head is a diff story.. not many rotating parts to screw up lol
  11. They have a decent price on P90 heads as well. most guys charge close to this price in the classifieds.. now im tempted haha http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/PTQ0/2398/02257.oap?year=1982&make=Nissan&model=280ZX&vi=1209361&ck=Search_02257_PTQ_1209361_3401&mn=PowerTorque®&mc=PTQ&pt=02257&ppt=C0332
  12. so many clean bays!! this winter im gonna start to tackle mine. i cant wait
  13. I recently acquired a very clean and low mileage KA motor set from a 97' 240sx. Im not here to ask all the noob questions about how to mount it or what driveshaft... ect ect.. But I am asking for some help in the wiring dept. I know wiring up a typical obd1/obd0 swap is very straight forward. Ive done a few. But the engine I happened to buy was from a 97 model year car. What would be the best course to take? Ive heard of a obd2 to obd1 ecu conversion harness that would allow me to retain the 97' dizzy and sensors. But I have been unable to actually find one for sale. The other route ive seen is to use an entire obd1 setup. Dizzy, intake mani w/sensors, harness and ecu. Has anyone done this swap using a newer harness? If you did, was there any sort of security you had to bypass? I know DIYAUTOTUNE offers a PNP ecu, but at $800 id like to explore other options before I have to do that. any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!
  14. I did this swap on my 77' about 2 months ago. I used a 3-4 psi off the shelf pump from my local orileys. I wired it up using a simple relay. I have the 12v signal wire going to the 6 pin connector that the efi harness used under the steering column. I also wired in a Ford inertia switch just in case something happens or I was to get hit. I did not use a pressure regulator as I had the fuel rails to go with my carbs. The factory rail has the restrictor built in. I removed the EFI harness, very simple. Its 100% separate from any other harness and wont hurt anything once removed. all of your gauges are in a separate harness so they will all still work. as for your ignition system, im not 100% sure on. I used a 1980 280zx e12 distributor on my setup and I was able to delete the huge ign module thats above the fuse panel in the passenger side kick panel. I think all you should have to do is run a wire from the NEG side of the coil to the blue wire in the 6pin connector under the column. The FSM would tell you for sure.
  15. I like the idea of using a rocker box! that should look really slick once its all together
  16. thanks everyone! I'll be sure to update this thread as often as possible. my next project is to patch up a few holes. I have 6 areas that need attention. both of the front strut towers need a patch about 3"x3", then the bottom of the battery tray, and the same spot on the drivers side.. shouldnt be too bad.
  17. It all started when I found this 72' 240Z on craigslist. And as luck would have it I was flat broke. But the car was less than 1 mile from my house, so I figured Ill go look at it. Why not right? Turned out the guy selling it was cool as hell. We hit it off right away, I told him that at that moment I didnt have any money to put down on the car and that id get back to him if I could come up with something. His reply was that " I will take the ad down, I know you will be back. I can see how badly you want this car" I was stunned, I didnt know what to say. I shook his hand and thanked him over and over again. Well after 4 days of doing non stop side jobs before and after work and selling a beater motorcycle I had the money for the car! I was a bit over joyed haha The next couple of weekends basically just consisted of my going over every inch of the rust to see how bad it really was... After stripping the interior I came to realize I didnt have much of a car left.... Not to mention it was going to need engine bay rails, battery tray, about half of the fire wall...I decided it was time to find another chassis. Back to craigslist I go to find a cheap donor. I came across this 77' 280Z. The price was right, and it had floors... anything else I could swap from the 240Z and make a running car.. So the front sheet metal was junk, it didnt run, had no brakes, but I knew I could make a bad ass car between the 2. After about 4 weeks time this is where im at.. removed all the fuel injection rebuilt and converted to SU carbs from the 240 installed a 6/2/1 header that came with the 280z swapped all the front sheet metal from the 240 240Z tail lights 240Z bumpers ( I know they are very beat and bent and rusty but its legal) rebuilt the brakes fixed some non working gauges fixed the factory clock! ( other datsun owners will understand) all the lights, signals, ect all now work properly, that took forever newer headunit Thats where Im basically at. The car runs and drives great. Its now my daily driver. I have put about 300 trouble free miles on the car in the past 2 weeks. It gets compliments anywhere it goes... I recently snagged a some goodies that will go on soon.. carbon fiber ZG flares! a little test fit The next things on the list are to lower the car, and make it 1 color. other than that, Im ecstatic that im actually driving a Z for a change, and its not on jackstands like every other Z ive owned lol
  18. looks like its coming together! I love seeing fresh metal going back into a Z, it means a new life!
  19. I happened to see this car listed on craigslist about a month or so ago. looked like a semi solid start to a project. keep up the work and keep us posted!
  20. almost sounds like its not worth the time. I guess it was a good idea to start with, but would take to much to actually start testing. I would like to go mega squirt in the future. but that is in the future and not anytime soon. I appreciate the reply's. thanks!
  21. I recently converted my 280Z to carbs as I could not get and kind of an injector pulse from the ECU. So what Id like to do is attempt to bench test the entire system. does anyone think this is possible? I could easily spin the distrbuiter with a drill, hook up power and ground to a battery. I basically just want to try and go thru the entire system before putting it back in the car. any help is greatly appreciated! thanks in advance
  22. I wish I could download it here at work, but our systems lock you out of saving any sort of files. when I get home tonight I plan to thoroughly read thru the FSM and if I have enough time ill make it out to the garage and see what I can do. Sorry for being such a NOOB, normally I have delt with EFI and MegaSquirt. This is my first time encountering SU's. Thanks again
  23. well I figured a rebuild was just part of the process. Maybe im not searching the right term. Ive come across countless threads that just conclude with them being sent to Z-therapy. Ill keep looking. The shafts does not seem to have play, but im no expert. I know the littlest amount of deflection in the throttle shafts is not good at all. One question I do have is how much oil actually goes above the piston?
  24. First I will start off with a little back history. The car is a 77 280Z, the carbs are from a 72 240Z that had been sitting for quite a few years. This morning I swapped the carbs onto the 77'. It did fire up, but not very well. It was popping and back firing thru the carbs so I didnt get any further with it. I know everyones first response will be to order the Z-therapy kits and video. At the current moment thats not an option, as funds are kinda tight as I just bought the car. I already ordered the kits from my local auto parts store as well as a new intake/exhaust gasket. My question is does anyone have any write up's or guide to rebuilding SU's at home with out the Z-Therapy video? Ive searched and searched and searched and keep coming up empty. Any help is greatly appreciated!!
