  1. Wow, it actually snowed in Houston?! It didn't even snow here in Ft. Worth and we generally get snow once or twice a year. I'm kind of shocked here..
  2. I would say that if you wanted to make this a truly successful idea you would need to also include other cars. Honda and Toyota fans generally pay a nice chunk of money just for "JDM street cred," which means that they would be more likely to utilize your services more often than Z fans. All in all it sounds like a good idea, I just wonder if the premium you would be forced to charge would be worth it in the long run.
  3. Are you talking about the meet out off of 20 in Arlington at the pizza joint? If so I've only been out there once, but I figured that I wouldn't head back out there until I had made more progress on my car. It might be silly, but when I got out there and saw how great some of the cars looked I felt kind of left out, lol. My main thing now is I know that I need to replace my rack & pinion, but after that I don't know what to do. There are a ton of things that needs to be done, I just don't know exactly what to do first. I guess I'll figure it all out here in a bit though.
  4. Thanks bud. I wish I could've had the chance to get that shot a bit more clear, but there was a security guard rolling up at the time and I was using an ancient point and shoot on a fence.. All those things combined equals a blurry pic that could've come out much better. As for the $1500/month, Yessir.. I'm looking forward to it for sure. The only thing is that now they're talking about moving my shift from mornings to nights, which means that I might have to spend all my free time applying for other jobs to keep the z budget up as I'm a full time student @ night..
  5. ^Absolutely wonderful. Don't mind me, I'm new to the RB idea and just trolling the RB threads to learn a bit.
  6. I know that this is a very old thread, but I have to say that this is one of the best looking z cars I've ever seen. A big cheers to you sir!
  7. Can't say it much better than that. Great looking swap/interior for sure. Jealousy does not adequately describe my emotions right now..
  8. Just started d/ding my s130 and loving it. It's such a night and day difference with my 05 civic that it's not even funny. I mean, forget about the fact that the 05 civic coupe that I have is the slowest Honda ever made, it's just a completely different feeling. I've driven modified STi's, SRT4's, stock Z4's, 335i's, 135i's, etc. and this car is just so connected to the road, it's a blast to drive. I start a new job here monday so I'm looking at a new budget of roughly $1500/month to spend on the z, and I'm looking towards starting quite a bit of work. I've loved reading through here about my different options (as I've recently started to second guess my choice to build an l28et in favor of possibly an RB25 or 1JZ). Anyways, I believe that I've posted pictures before but here's a refresher:
  9. I generally don't like "drifting," but this video just drips with pure talent. I've seen it a million times already and it still isn't old at all.
  10. Before I started drinking I basically was just trying to cope with being a worthless lump on society. I hung out with a lot of people that did drugs (and had recently quit myself), so I compensated with my recent loss of drug addiction with just picking up a new one. When I was "at my peak" my girl and I were waking up to 40's of steel reserve, drinking whatever we could come up with during the day, and finishing the night with a bottle of whiskey. I lived across the street from a couple of really good friends of mine that also drank/smoked pot so it was basically a constant party. It really hit me when I made the mistake of letting someone talk me into taking a xanex when I had been drinking tequila all night. I ended up blacking out that night and waking up the next morning with a cheap right broken on my finger and my neighbor telling me that I had gotten violent the night before and punched his dads truck as hard as I could. I was lucky that it was just a farm truck and that his dad loved me like a son, or that really could've caused a lot of problems. Since I've quit drinking I've returned to college (flunked out the first time I tried to go) and I now have a 3.6 GPA. My girl and I have been together for 6 years now and have really grown close now that we stopped partying and started just living a more respectful/mature life. I now rarely have the urge to drink at all anymore, and on the rare occasion that I do I generally only drink maybe 1 or 2 beers and I quit.. It's just not in me anymore to get shitfaced. To be fair I still am an addict though, I just keep switching my addiction to different things.. Now it's energy drinks. I honestly believe that if it weren't for Monsters I would probably have flunked out of college again just because I can't get up that early. On the other hand I've started trying to tell people to calm down on drinking just because I don't want to see someone that I care about go down the path that I went down. Within 3 months I had been in countless fights, broken my knuckle, split my head open, been arrested... Now I'm 25 and living with my parents because I knew that I had to get back on my feet and go back to college or I would lead a worthless life. I don't know man, that's my rant/contribution. Hope it helps.
  11. I am insanely jealous right now. Good job bud.
  12. As with everyone else, I'm not a fan of the lights. But everything else I think is a drastic improvement over the 350z. Baby Aston?
  13. *Mods please delete if repost* http://www.autoblog.com/photos/iacoski-datsun-240z-fairlady/989408
  14. I have to ask, what are the modifications to this srt4? Also, what year is it? 04-05 models had a slight bump in hp and were underrated from the factory, as a result they generally dyno out at around 220hp/240tq. They also don't take much money at all to get up to 300-350whp, which is why I ask what mods that it has. I hope that I'm not being the grinch of the thread or anything, but I don't want you to go on a rash spending spree without considering the actual chances of winning after modding.
  15. Koenigsegg CCR. The nations highest speeding ticket ever written. I absolutely love Koenigseggs.
  16. A buddy few of my buddies were doing a run down i30 in Ft. Worth and got lit up doing about 155 in his srt4. The only reason he pulled over was a damn good reason ~ you can't outrun a radio.
  17. Wow, feel lucky that you have such nice cars to see on a daily basis. The nicest car that ever drives down my street is a daewoo hatchback with 18" chrome rims in the rear and stock 14" steelies w/chrome hubcaps in the front. The other day a really nice (although primer) mr2 turbo t-bar opened up going down my street. Other than that I just get your typical focus', civics with fartcans, worktrucks, etc.
  18. When I did this with my s130 we put the front up on ramps with a few boards underneath and jacks in the back. Then we had another jack to put under the tranny itself when wiggling it out. It's really not hard to do at all once you get it going, I would say the hardest part is actually getting it aligned right and put back on.

    CRX Motor Swap

I've never heard of it.. But there always is the civette: I guess it could be possible in a crx too.. with a lot of work... like, maybe sitting in the hatch area. haha.

    CRX Motor Swap

Actually, the k24 has several variants that go from about 160hp to 220hp. The k24a2 is the motor out of the Acura TSX and it makes about 220hp and (obviously) has a higher compression ratio so it's not really that popular among the guys looking for boost, while the k24a1 (out of the cr-v) seems to be quite a bit cheaper and handles boost a whole lot better due to the lower cr. The most popular thing, as I mentioned before, is to throw in a k24a1 longblock with a k20a2 head, k20a2 tranny, then boost and tune with Hondata kpro. If you're looking for a tranny that would bolt up and has an lsd stock there's always the k20a trans or the k20z3 trans, both of which should bolt up without a problem. I personally would stay away from the k20z3 transmission because there's a design flaw in it that causes extensive 3rd gear problems. As for the B series, I really don't know all that much so I can't really comment.. The extent of my honda knowledge ends at the k series, . For the record, I think that a built/tuned k20a2 would be awesome in a crx. Think about it, you'd end up somewhere around 300whp and have a 9k rpm redline in a 2000lb car. It's like a go-cart that sounds like a pissed off weedeater.
  21. I'm no body expert here, but it seems as if the frame might have been tweaked a little bit by the way that the gap in between the passenger fender and the hood got bigger instead of smaller. IDK though.. Did you make it out alright? [edit] I missed the last line before the pictures. My bad. It's good that you made it out so well man, that's the most important thing. Now you have more time in the z car, eh? Time to hit up the pick n' pulls and Craigslist!
  22. I vote for a group hug and a fresh start. No grabass... So, what was your favorite part of the movie? I don't want you to give it away or anything (no spoilers), but wth it's a question..
  23. Wow, Great idea on using the fg handles! Are you going to re-upholster it with fg2 style suede with red stitching, or just go with something completely custom? I can't wait to see the finished product. Good job bud.
  24. I'll definitely watch this after it comes out on dvd. As far as Mila Kunis is concerned, every time I watch an episode of That 70's Show I have to check the date it was aired so I know if it's okay to check her out. Did you know when she started that show she was only 14?!?? Crazy..
