  1. I agree with Scottie, MTs for racing and Nittos for street. Need two sets of rims. Oh I managed to sneak in on my moms computer and checked the board! My computer is packed. Will touch base again in a few days...Have fun Mike! Terry
  2. For two weeks anyways...just wanted to let everyone know my computer is being packed tomorrow and I will be down for at least two weeks while getting to Japan and setting up etc. My permanent EMail is herbalife63@hotmail.com if anyone wants to drop a line etc. So for now "To the land of the Ricing Sun" or is that Rising Sun??? Zya Terry CZ
  3. Tim, this thing weighs 114 pounds and is huge fat...has the pop in stubs with the 6 bolt pattern....BTW if its not a 230 thats cool. Im gonna put this puppy in. I wonder if the 300 axles will work? If not Q45 axles here we go.. Terry
  4. Guys just wanted to post that MAICHOR gave me a FREE Q45 R230 and all I did was pay for shipping on a bus from Dallas to SanAngelo. I picked it up today and was so excited. I was very impressed and grateful because when I went to get it, it was crated and professionally packed and looked great. He is a class act as I know he is very busy these days. Just wanted to say THANKS MIKE and I really appreciate your effort for a fellow Zer. Boy will I ever need this upgrade...Im stoked. Now I just need 4 Q45 Axles and Ross;s axles stubs adapters and front mount once he decides to make them. Thanks HybridZ for spawning such individuals..... Semper Fi Terry
  5. Sweet! battle can I have your AXLES???? Please? JK terry
  6. Cool, the tranny will lock as soon as it hits third gear. The norm is lockup in 3rd and 4th. I always unlock after passing thru the traps. The 26x9 slick would be perfect. Wider like 27s on an 8 inch drag light you will need a spacer and fender clearancing or the car will just squat on the tires. I ran a 275 Nitto with spacer and didnt need any fender clearancing. Car just hit bump stops before hitting tires. Cant wait to see the results....GO MIKE GO! Terry
  7. FASTZ On this build max timing is recommended at 36 degrees. I never checked to see what it is other than one time. I have an MSD billet distributor with the silver spring in it (Standard). I never changed to the blue or red. I reach max advance at around 3000 RPMS. However during my tuning I only worry about initial timing that yields the best MPH or ET. My springs are the ones that AFR put on them when I got them. They are rated at 600/600 I believe. Valve float ocurring around 6500. I only rev to 6000 so no prob there. I built this engine from the AFR site 450 HP 355 Build. Mine is a 356/7 bore though. Here are the specs as tested by AFR: RPMS Torque H.P. 2500 409 204 3000 419 239 3500 441 298 4000 467 357 4500 470 405 5000 448 424 5500 428 450 6000 375 429 Dyno Test Criteria Horsepower: 450 HP Engine: 355ci Heads: AFR Street 180 Heads Mine are the 190 Heads discontinued Compression: 9:5:1 Carburetor: Holley 0-4779 750 cfm Ignition: MSD Distributor 36° Timing Cam: Comp Cams 12-432-8 Hyd Roller Exhaust: 1 5/8" Headers Fuel: 93 Octane Pump Gas Engine built and dyno tested by AFR utilizing an AFR #5028 Street Power Flow Manifold These numbers are pretty close because I dynoed in Japan at Sea Level 82 degrees and ran 379HP at 362 rear wheel torque. However I think that dyno may be a little high as well but at any rate its a very good build and reliable being very streetable. Hell my car is so quiet no one would even know its a V8 but silently kicks major but for a 350! Terry
  8. My 650DP Demon and all Holleys Ive had 750DP need about 7 PSI...8 to 9 will spill em over and make ur plugs wet or foul them in time. Watch where your lines run too cuz vapor lock is a real issue with these cars sometimes due to the underhood temps. My 240 has issues in the summer at the track with the hood on, hence I run without it. I have braided lines too but still have issues if its too hot. This will make your Fuel pressure start declining quick. You will experience serious powerloss when the engine starts starving...been there done that. On the 280 the fuel lines are ran thru the fender into the front of the car so I have no issues with it. I guess its time to reroute the Corzette lines in the future. Holley red pump is 7 PSI I think and could be run without a regulator. The blue is 14PSI without regulator....they sure are noisy though lol. Be careful with that carbureted pump as side drafts and maybe SUs only like 3 to 5 pSI if memory serves me correctly. I remember gas pouring out onto my headers from the Mikunis I had with the fuel pressure too high.....scary. The fuel gauge is a good tool... Terry
  9. Grumpy My current setup is this: 350 .040 over KB Flat top hypers 5cc relief total seal rings Eagle full floater H Beams Scat 3.48 Stroke crank AFR 190 Heads 2.02/1.60 70% CNC ported CompCams XR282HR 510/520 at 110LS 1.5 Roller rockers, intake and exhaust AFR match ported dual plane intake to FELPRO 1254 gasket Holley DP 04779 classic with PROFORM main body 70/76 jets did run 72/82 and had better MPH but ET suffered. Best 60 is now 1.591 with MT ETs Champion plugs cold for racing with NOS MSD billet distributor MSD blaster coil with MSD 6A ignition Ceramic block Hugger headers 1 5/8 2 1/2 collectors to 21/2 pipe to X-Pipe to rear and out Dynomax mufflers Deltas? Edge 3500 stall Raptor 700R4 level III with torgue package Hurst V matic shifter R200 354 rear, have tried 411 but like 354 better, CV upgrade Holley Black Pump with return, carb likes 7 PSI Aluminum water pump, valve covers, Griffin radiator Current setup runs best with 4 to 6 advance timing. On cold days maybe 8 max period. I tried the XR276HR and liked it. It yielded a better 1/8th than the 282 and was more torqy by the seat of the pants but tired out up top. The 282 seems much better but I think the top end could be better. Maybe single plane and full length headers? Best time with current setup is 11.91 but was cold out. usually 11.98/12.00 at 110 to 112 all day long with out NOS. Terry
  10. ZFAN, just run a wire from the Tranny plug to a switch with a positive feed on the dash somewhere. As you line up just turn the switch on. When it shifts into third it will lock up automatically and disengage as it down shifts. Thats all there is to it. I use it all the time in cruising. Almost like having a gear between 3rd and 4th. Terry
  11. Mike, mine is a Tremtec 6 Speed Manual and no structural altering at all. I just like the idea of having something not many do and to preserve history of coarse. My engine sits on a cradle and then a direct bolt in, no cutting etc anywhere. 2832 lbs and drives like a caddy...well almost. Im just wanting to increase the WOW factor later but not 800HP!!! Maybe 500 or so...Id like all my cars to be at least 12 sec daily drivers withthe exception of the CorZette, that will be a 9 sec car in the future...Anyways keep the Bigblock they are a special build to own.... Terry
  12. I hear ya Mike. I def understand that. Like Scotty once told me if ya can get your 60 foot down a couple of tenths you WILL run a 10. I KNOW your car has that or better in the launch with good tires. Time for some QTPs! Terry
  13. Guys just wanted to post this for all. I just got targeted by this bullcrap and wanted to share it.....scary. "Dearest one, Compliment of the day to you,pls i don't want this short note to be as a burden to you or in any way meet you at the bad mood, there is something attract me in your profile,to be sincere with you on my searching in this matrimonial home i came accross your profile which i went through thoroughly and is quite interesting to my liking,if you wouldn't mind there is something confidential which i would like to discuss with you through my private email address rose16_gg@yahoo.fr pls your reply will be highly treated in my email address for further discussion. Thanks and stay cool. Rose" "I am the first duaghter of an ex military/ex president been an opposition party to the present Government of COTE D`IVOIRE. On the 19th sept 2002 my father/mother including every members of our family was murdered by the unknown REBELS during the time they attack our house by shooting and looting, even this is one of the things that contributed to the present crisis in our country today. God so kind I was not in town when the incident occurred, the plans of the REBELS is to kill every members of our family so that no one will rise up to revenge as time goes on. I am in our country without any one knowing although I am on hiding so that the unknown REBELS will not get to me and kill me like they killed all the members of our family. Why I still stay back in our country is to transfer the $18.5mUSD which my late father deposited in the custody of one of the SECURITY ASSISTANCE COMPANY,here in Abidjan,he deposited the fund as a family treasure containing AFRICAN ART WORK FOR EXPORT for security reasons, as security company does not operate as bank where some one can deposit his/her money openly. Before the death of my father he gave me the covering documents of the fund deposited in the security company, as I am his first duaghter and he so much loved me that was why he made me the beneficiary of the two iron trunk boxes containing the $18.5mUSD. Right now I wish to transfer this fund to you so that you will assist me to invest the money into any viable sector in your country, also you will help me to join you in your country for me to start up a new life with you there immediately the fund gets to you. since I am no longer safe as far as Africa is concern at the moment, I wanted to transfer the fund before leaving the country because this fund is my last hope and the only hope I have now. Before I even pick you to assist me I have prayed and slept over it asking God to provide for me a Godly minded person that will assist me in this transaction. I will give you more details of the transaction in my next mail with my pictures so that you will know me. Awaiting to here from you. Thanks and God bless you. Rose Guei." What the hell..... CZ
  14. LMAO...good one! I gess Id butter be cairful cuz Ives got no frame unders me Datsun...lol.
  15. Hey guys go here and click on the practice tree link if ya wanna simple way to help improve your reaction times...kinda addicting. http://www.sanangelodragway.com/index.htm Terry
  16. On my build it is very sensative on timing. If I have it advanced too much it will foul the plugs everytime. I have alot of seat time tuning this setup and it absolutely runs its best with about 6 advance initial timing period the end. When its hot out 4 advance is even better. When it s around 50 to 60 maybe 8 to 10 advance but no more. Im running the 750DP AFR190s MDS everything, dual plane Roller cam 510/520 at 110 LS, 2 1/2 duals all the way back out of 1 5/8 Block Huggers, Dual PLane. I initially ran it at 16 advanced and fouled all the plugs after one run. Yes I changed the jetting a 100 times and stayed with 70/76. 76 rear jets gave me my best 60 footers at 1.59 Stock 750DP 04779C came with 71/80. My best MPH came with 72/82s but the ET suffered. I also converted to the Proform main body. Just thought that may help some. The best way to find out the best timing is by ET and MPH but the weather changes all that...I will never need a timing light again for the 240...all I do now is advance or retard the timing according to the temp outside. I must also say that this car and tuning is incredibly consistent. I placed third last month here at the brackets and lost to the previous track owner of 20 plus years by only .001 secs! I dialed a 11.99 and ran a 12.00 with a .579 light to his dial of 10.10 running a 10.17 with a .529 light. I won 5 straight before the finals all within .01 or so. Oh 9:7:1 compression 92 Octane. Terry
  17. FastZ, yes. I guess Ill keep the T56 on second thought just for the wow factor but a Rat in my opinion should outrun the mouse with similiar weight. The 396 in it is mostly stock as far as HP gaining components go. I think a 454 with some good Aluminum heads and decent cam i.e. Comp XE268H or so would be nice. The block and mounting would be identical so why not add a few cubes! Im also upgrading the black sled too so the BBC may have to wait awhile when I get back! Thanks for the comments!! Terry
  18. I have a 396 BB in my 280, soon to be 454 or 502 in about three years....
  19. I just found out that a 700R4 weighs 184 pounds and the T350 is only 119!!! Damn thats a savings of 65 pounds and less parasitic power loss. Mike I bet we could gain at least 3 tenths by swapping them out. The T350C has the lockup available as well...but with a 3500 stall and a 27 inch tire we wouldnt need it really... Hey I have a Raptor fully built top of the line 700R4 for sale!!! Terry
  20. Mike, great numbers but I agree with ya about the 700R4. I think Im gonna throw in a T350 when I get back since I dont need anymore for highway cruising. I may just throw it in the Orange one and sell the T56 later on. Let us know how she progresses! Terry
