Damn Mike, I cant believe that shop. Thanks for the heads up, Ill never call on them. Well hey Im excited about your long rod setup because its the exact same thing I am planning. It will be cool to see how it works for you. I have no doubt youll be in the tens on engine alone. Hey are you running the FelPro 1205 intake gaskets? Im using the 1256s now but will have to have the heads matched ported to upgrade. The Victor Jr intake is already ported for the 1205s so during my rebuild I will probably go single plain and port the heads a little. Do you mind telling me how much you paid for the internals for your new beast? Ill have to collect a little at a time. Please let us know how she runs...Im excited for you and always tell people about your setup here in Angelo. Usually if I get beat I always say " well my buddy in Dallas has the same car but with a 385 stroker and runs 10s on engine only" That gets the respect back after a loss!!!!! LOL. Thanks for bailing me out at times that you didnt even know about! lol!!! Terry

Ok this is just getting silly. I just hit a 1.597 60 footer tonight on a 3.54 open diff. Both tires are hooking and is launching like hell. I hit the 100 shot in second and third only on a cold 700 PSI only and ran an 11.43 at 119.7!!!! My bottle warmer wasnt working. Iran out of NOS after two good runs. Man what a night. Im going 125 shot in April and getting that damn 10 sec slip...10.99 he we come. Also Lauren;s 396 Big Block Z broke a U Joint on the line. Ouch...but was kinda cool in way...At least he was smilin!!!! Go torque! He said its CVs now for sure. There is another tubbed 280 here tonight too! We are starting to grow! Anyways my best 1/8th tonight was 7.35 at 96.09 and 11.43 at 119.77 in non lock mode. Yippee!!!! CorZette

#3....TT 383 Chevy 240 Z Race Video
Corzette replied to Turbo Meister's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
Thats awesome. Well I expect if ya had slicks hooking you would get into the 1.3s easy and into the 5s in the eight.....unbelievable. I need to to take ur car to Okinawa and do some show and tell on old school. CZ -
Mike, also YOU ARE and I will be in the position to think about a straight axle in the future. You cant go to much quicker without long term headaches of the weak links etc... Since Im following you, lead the way oh Master of Torque! Terry

Yes Sir, I got the adaptors from ROSS. I would suggest his product. No I still have the 240 stubs. I am gonna upgrade to the 280 forged stubs he is making later so I know they will last. There is so many choices. If you want to do this only once I would suggest saving enough money for the 4340 Billet steel adaptors and stubs. Then get a set of axles from Mikelly or Moser. I am running an open diff by the way so an LSD would be just fine I expect. Terry

Ha Ha I love this... quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Originally posted by IROCSS Aren't the SBF more than capable of smoking an LS1? -------------------------------------------------------------------------- No, but the money required to put an LS1 into a foxbody and look that pretty could of been used to build a 302 that could smoke most cars. I forgot what the typical price range... But I think those 302 only need like 400-500 of bolt ons to hit high 10's Now thats funny!!! CorZette

Mike get the CV conversion done. I just cut a 1.63 60 at the track today. I broke my 411 R200 last week on a series of 1.6s. Im surprised the R200 went before the axles but they are much stronger than the U-Joints for sure. I switched back to a 3.54 rear today and cut a 1.63 and 11.99 at 112 so there wasnt much difference between the two except the MPH was a little higher. I posted my time slip on the Hybrid TIMES forum. Gotta love that 3500 EDGE convertor... Terry

Am I crazy or does the rear sway bar seem to help twisting on launch. After I added the rear bar for dragging only, I noticed that the car seemed more solid on launches. Terry

Starting My 454 BBC Install.....(pics)
Corzette replied to Cable's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
I would suggest a 3500 stall for that intake. A 2500 stall will only get you max 1500 brake stall unless your going with a trans brake.... EDGE converters are the bomb IMHO. CZ -
383 240Z is dog slow....confused?
Corzette replied to TheNeedForZ's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
Another word of advice. Check your plug wires, distributor cap and rotor and Plugs. If they are fouled or your cap is bad or your wires are fried or your wires are not completely attached etc, then you will have issues with power. You might check your fuel pump and filter as well. Terry -
Guys does reversing the cages also apply to the SE axles? I have the VLSD and axles, just waiting on the Z31 adapters from Ross. Will they fit with that mod? CorZette

I was just thinking if the rice crowd wanted to be impresed they should take a gander at JapTin or Ron Jones N/A Zs. Thats some fast stuff.... I wonder what a turbo or two would be like there....lol. The combinations are endless. CZ

Theyll learn once they get back. We all get lost in the moment over there. Hell I was racing in 1982 with a L28 and Mikunis and thought I was the fastest car ever....Little did I know. It doesnt matter what engine your runing anyway, its all about money. If ya got deep enough pockets you can always be faster. I think Im gonna go with Turbo Meiser;s idea and twin an 8.... CZ
-
Whats up Stony. Yeah I like yours better too but its a Honda thing...lol. Im going to Camp Fuji to work as a GS-11 for three years so when I get back I may back half and turbo myself.....if I got the nads to do it that is... CZ
-
Thanks Guy!!!! Well these are my first runs of the season. About 4 tenths better than last year already. I gotta get that 400 crank in there! Terry

Simply awesom!!!!! CZ -
TM, I know once you get there its greeat for a moment , then you say.....so!!! How can I make it faster. I would love to turbo an 8, nothing could come close with all the goodies. Ill just laern from you for awhile!!!! Awesome vid BTW! Terry

Hell I was running 12.3s at 114 with the 2500 stall. After changing to this 3500 stall Im quicker and slower...lol. Its an EDGE convertor. Best investment Ive made so far. If anyone can host a vid I can post my 11.9 run. BTW Im also running a 411 rear, that cuts the MPH down a bit too I expect. Im going 370s after I can find some axles off a 1988 300ZX. I have a 370 Viscous LSD, just need axles. Terry

Thanks Doc. Well so far I have the Aeromotive regulator which is alcohol ready. My fuel pump in the Holley Black so that is also compatible. I have an aluminum fuel cell so I will need the additive for that right? My fuel lines are braided steel rubber lines that everyone has. Do I need to change those? My fuel filter is a PAXTON. I think it is alcohol compatible too. Its the BIG BLUE one with O-ring seals and -10 inlet and outlet as seen here at the top http://www.tweakit.net/shop/product_info.php?cPath=&products_id=358 Anything else to ponder? Jets are usually twice the size of gas right. Im thinking of an 850 carb for the alky. Terry

Can anyone tell me what is needed to run alchohol on the 350? Do I need to just buy an Alchohol carb and go or???? How much HP gain should there be between the two. Im at 400 now. Terry

Ran last night and finally got her into the elevens with the 350. Still only engine no NOS. NOT LOCKED IN THIRD Quarter 11.98 @ 110.94 Eighth 7.58 @ 89.33 60 Foot 1.64 DIDnt run in lock mode but tested MPH and ran 112.76 vs 110.94 Locked on a 3500 stall. NOS (Very Weird) 100 shot 11.90 at 117 havent figured it out yet I guess. Had problems launching after the 11.98 pass without NOS. Track was getting worse each run. I still have a better launch in there cuz I was launching at 2100 brake stall. It will stall to 2500 so maybe a 1.59 is possible with good track conditions. I gotta get to Ennis!!!! One step at a time. I know what Scotty means by tuning tuning tuning. The suspension tuning is just as important! Ok now what????? 11.8s of coarse! Terry

so who wants to see a new..yes i said new! pic of The Hulk?
