  1. Maybe Grumpy is out there. I just ordered a cool packaged stroker assy balanced with 6 inch Damper and Flex Plate Internalally balanced and shipped for $1128.00 Can someone estimate the power out put from the following:

    350 SBC .040 over bore

    AFR 190 Aluminum Heads

    Roller rockers 1.5

    Hydraulic Roller lifters

Forged Probe Pistons for 6 inch rods

    6 inch full floater rods

    400 internally balanced crank

Comp Cams 282/288 roller cam .510/.520 lift.

    Holley 750DP with Proform body

    Ceramic Block Huggers 1 5/8s

    Valves 2.02/1.6 CNC ported 70%

AFR Dual Plane intake or Victor Jr Single PLane.......

Any estimates on power from this 383 long rod setup?

The track closes in November and Ill start my rebuild then as well as install the new Comp 9 wiring harness. Damn those F Bodies look out...here I come :D . No stinkin Nitrous! :-D

  2. Hey guys, I am getting a NOS cheater kit that has 150-250 jets in the kit. I know I cant run them because of my pistons being hypers. However, can I run a 75 jet without much fear of melt down etc? Could I run a 100 shot without worries...can anyone chime in.

Secondly if I am currently running 12.3s on engine, what could I expect with a 75 shot and a 100 shot. Any input is appreciated.

  3. Damn Mike, sorry to hear that. I havent heard from ya in awhile. Thanks for the heads up on that pickup. I will do the same during my rebuild. I know youll be in the tens. Keep us posted. I talk about your car all the time here in Angelo becaise these Damn F bodies run 150 Shots of NOS and talk crap about beating me by 5 tenths. I told them that you have basically the same car as mine bur with a 383 and run 11.30s NA. The best here is a 11.4 on a 150shot Trans Am. Man I cant wait. Lead the way Mike Ill take notes..... :D

Oh I have to ditch this 411 soon too so I would trade for a 370 if any 6 speeders need to swap.... 8)

  4. At one of the car shows I was at this year, a middle aged woman told me she lost her virginity in a Z. All I could think was, she must have been a lot smaller then or she was one heck of a contortionist.

    Good One Bill....

  5. John, that Auburn is a friend of mines car. Its a kit car with a LS1. Super Sweet....

Kevin, I am running the dual plane AFR intake port matched to the heads. Since my cam is setup for 6000 RPMs I guess I will keep it on and just change the gears or....run it up to 6500 after I get a rev KIT installed. That way I could have the best of both worlds with out floating valves to worry about. 6500 RPMS would be perfect up to around 120 MPH or so I expect. Anyone wanna calculate that?

Tire is 27 inch, 411 rear at 6500 RPMS???

Thanks for the cudos!!! Oh and the hood does weigh about 43 pounds, so that plus my passenger seat (RECARO and the front hinge, I saved almost 80 plus pounds  Well that means 12.53 to a 12.36 in laymans terms... or 110.7 to 112.5 on average... :D:D Then again...that damn vapor lock... :D

  6. Well its been awhile since Ive posted but good news. I won the title for the second time in my class at the San Angelo Dragway this past Friday night. You can check out the race site at http://www.sanangelodragway.com I am mentioned on the right side in the 12 second bracket. I also had some personal best times in all categories. The weather is cooling down so Im sure thats why things are getting better.

    60 Foot 1.84

    1/8 7.98 @ 89.5 MPH

    1/4 12.36

    Best MPH 113.56

Still have the ole 350SBC, however I am gonna install a 75 shot of NOS next month. I figure it wont hurt the engine and Ill be able to beat those DAMN F bodys that are running 150 shots or more. They are only running 11.7/8s. The 383 transplant wont happen until the track closes for the year. man next year will have the 383 plus a 100 shot...should be fun. I guess Ill have to go back to the 354 rear since my 411s will run out way before the traps.... Just wanted to share another win win situation here in TX for all the Hybrid bros and Sisses out there......

  7. Thanks guys! Yes I beat the Nova but it was so close I dont even want to think about it. What sucks for him is that he was running 10.7s all night in test n tune on a 275 shot of nitrous then ran out so decided to come into the V8 NA class. LOL :D I guess he didnt think I was a threat with my mild little Z. My parents also said it was like watching the lion vs the mouse when lsitening to our engines and staging habits.. :D Well the ole Z did have a mouse in it after all :D I hope someday I can come to Ennis....

    11s are coming soon....

  8. Thanks to guy here are a few vids of the competition friday here in San Angelo of which I won. There are no lights on this track so I apologize but I went a best of 12.39 and slowest of 12.45. The 350Z TT redlighted at.383 and I ran him down as well as the LS1 Camaro. The FInal race against the NOVA was a spine tinger....0084 difference across the traps...enjoy

  9. Dale/Kevin the R200 came out of a 1985 180SX Turbo. It seems to be an LSD and launches great. I have a 2800 stall in a 700R4 auto. My brake stall is only about 1800 RPMS at launch however. I hold the break and give it gas just before the wheels start to turn and slam the throttle halfway thru the last yellow light on the tree. I cut a .504 light yesterday on the 12.3 run. I expect to have some traction issues with the 3500 stall coming soon. But I will go to the 27 inch Hoosiers before then so it still should be fine. I need to get my launches to at least 1.7s before breaking 11s. Im sitting at 1.90s now so the convertor should help lots. The 411s pull hard as hell after I get rolling. Im real happy with the choice thus far.

Tannji I have the vids and will send to whoever cares to post them. I am having them put on a cd for easier storage. The 350Z turbo was a classic to see..... Bigger jets for the next time out. I should be able to hit 113 MPH or so I think....12.2s are a stretch but just maybe......we'll see.

  10. Wow! What a night. First I ran a best of 12.3 at 111.87 and best MPH of 112.2 with the 411s. I cross the traps at 6000RPMS just perfect for this setup. Even though I picked up almost 2 tenths Im still only launching 1.90s or so. I expect the 3500stall will be the icing on the cake for the 350 setup. Im getting some Hoosiers 27 inch tires so I will have a little more room in third gear. No traction problems at all and man once it hit 2500 RPMS it jets like a bat out of hell. 7.90s and 8.0s on the eigth. Im happy with the swap. This diff you can not see thru it when the shafts are out but the 354 I could, what does that mean? One is an LSD?

OK the good stuff.....I WON THE SAN ANGELO STREET RACING V8 NA class tonight! I beat everyone I ran and it was SWEEEEET!. I have videos of them all and the final I only got the guy by .0064 secs!!! It was a 1970 NOVA 383 stroker...awesome race....now everyone knows me for sure. Also I raced a 350Z with the turbo kit and won 12.43 to 12.66 I think. It is a classic video...old meets new. Ill have it to post soon... I also beat all the F Bodies!!! :-D I hate F Bodies.....at least for tonight I rule!!!!! Thanks guys for reading...getting faster and faster... :D

  11. OK finally got the 411 R200 in from Ross Corrigan and will test it tonight. Ill post times later. I hope to do better than a 12.47 (3.54 rear). I tested it on the blacktop with no traction problems. It is noticeably quicker...lets see what the slips say......until tonight! Still jetted at 70/80 so the MPH will be a little lower than bigger jetting settings have given me.....

    Terry

  12. Well its official, I just ran tonight again three times and ran:

    12.54 111.3 1/8th 8.08

    12.56 110.75 8.12

    12.55 110.26 8.14

    I down jetted from 74/80 to 70/80

I lost a bit on the MPH but same on 60 foot...maybe try 72/82 next time out...

60s were 1.90-1.92 launching at 1800 RPMS on 2800 stall ,,must get 3500 stall convertor...

It felt good to go 12.5s again. The victor is just too much for the ole 350..just have to wait for the 383 to put it on....

411s track test next in July.....more tech info to come...I hope some one can use this info for thier build.....

    BTW I beat up a Z28 12.55 to 13.1, a vette and some ricer...3 and 0 tonight... total around 18 wins 3 losses to a trailer queen 68 camaro 12.56 to a 11.5, Z28 with a 200 shot 12.49 to a 12.00, and the best race to a build mustang with a 351 Cleveland 12.47 to a 12.43. Lots of fun....

We are at about 2200 feet with dry air...can any tell me what we should run at sea level and 60% humidy??? Grumpy??
