  1. Well I didnt kill myself...what a rush it is to spray a 125 shot... Guy I guess you jinxed me because heres what happened tonight. First I couldnt find the 150 shot pills so had to stay with 125. The warmer drained my battery but not before I got some good runs in. My first run was 11.45 so I retarded the timing a bit and ran a 11.25 just spraying in 2d and 3rd. I was hooking pretty good 1.6s all night mostly. Then i ran a 11.13 then decided to spray on the tail end of first just after the launch and ran a FRICKEN 11.01!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Its kinda funny though. If I could have hooked off the line I couldve ran a 10.99, however a 150 shot will make it right Im sure. Still no signs of any breakage. This little Z is holding together real good. Everybody loved the car tonight as I was the fastest there today. I beat another motorcycle...oops!!! Guy Ill send you the vid and you can here them announce my time at the end. I GOT A NEW SLIP to POST....OK the Friday after next Im gonna get a 10 sec slip! Like Scotty says....patience! Hope you guys enjoy the vid.....oh and you can delete the other two vids if ya want..

    Oh here are the details:

    60 footer 1.63

    1/8th 7.03 at 98.65

    1000 9.18

  2. Im with Mike because my 240 weighing 2600 pounds way back when bone stock except for Alum intake, 750 Vac sec carb and block huggers ran a 13.7/9 all day with a flat tappet cam Comp XE262 at about 98 to 99MPH. Considering you have the same engine setup approx subtract about 1.5 tenths per every 100 pounds heavier it is than mine, Maybe only 1 tenth but just to be conservative and ull be close. If the ZX weighs 3000 lbs, I would say 5 to 6 tenths slower depending on launch etc. So 13.7 plus 6 tenths would be around 14.3 or so. If only 1 tenth per 100 lbs then 14.1 or so. This is just an example however. My car started life running a 14.30 with Comp Cams XE292 (Way to big for the heads I had) and stock convertor. With cam change and 2000 stall it went 13.7 best on SR torquer iron heads. Then I started learning about parts matching and I am where I am today..11.98 on Engine.

    Hope this helps....

  3. Thanks Mike...Im sooo glad ur car is back together! Thanks for the support but its not the same with NOS. Its like steroids for a competition. Ill be excited but not satisfied till I do it on engine alone. Can you imagine a skyline running a ten on just engine without turbos? Well it aint gonna happen....with that said its just a personal thing about doing it NA like your gonna do! So technically you will be the first!!!!!!!!! Im just gonna cheat a little....at any rate that HILL WILL BE TAKEN COMMANDER!!!! OOH RAHH!!!!

  4. Thanks Scottie! Will do. Pyro I ran an 11.9 with the 357 and low 1.6s all day long on engine alone. I ran an 11.4 spraying in 2d and 3rd. I really think I will only need 150 shot max. My suspension is really dialed in so no traction problems at all unless its cold out and I have only a half tank of gas...lol. My 11.4 pass was at 119.77 and another at 118.3. 45 more horse will def need the 150 shot. Ill keep track of what combos I use. More Saturday night!

  5. Well heres the deal. Im going back to Japan near Tokyo in July for three years so I am gonna try to break my car Saturday night. Well it will give the excuse to build my 385 Stroker. Anyways last track meeting I ran an 11.43 at 119.77 on a cold 100 shot, PSI was only 700 because my warmer was not working. I only hit the juice in second and third.

    REMEDY.....

I went up to 125 shot and fixed my bottle warmer...nice and hot. I am gonna hit the juice in 2d and 3rd again on the warmed 125 for a base line and if Im not in the 10.9 range, Im gonna hit it midway thru 1st, then 2d and 3rd. Provided I dont break the diff pin I should be there. I figure 11.43 on a cold bottle was prob only a 75 shot at best.

Any thoughts before this happens? My car will be put away for 3 to 5 years so I need to leave with a 10 sec slip!!!!

  6. Damn Mike, I cant believe that shop. Thanks for the heads up, Ill never call on them. Well hey Im excited about your long rod setup because its the exact same thing I am planning. It will be cool to see how it works for you. I have no doubt youll be in the tens on engine alone. Hey are you running the FelPro 1205 intake gaskets? Im using the 1256s now but will have to have the heads matched ported to upgrade. The Victor Jr intake is already ported for the 1205s so during my rebuild I will probably go single plain and port the heads a little. Do you mind telling me how much you paid for the internals for your new beast? Ill have to collect a little at a time. Please let us know how she runs...Im excited for you and always tell people about your setup here in Angelo.

Usually if I get beat I always say " well my buddy in Dallas has the same car but with a 385 stroker and runs 10s on engine only" That gets the respect back after a loss!!!!! LOL. Thanks for bailing me out at times that you didnt even know about! lol!!!

  7. Ok this is just getting silly. I just hit a 1.597 60 footer tonight on a 3.54 open diff. Both tires are hooking and is launching like hell. I hit the 100 shot in second and third only on a cold 700 PSI only and ran an 11.43 at 119.7!!!! My bottle warmer wasnt working. Iran out of NOS after two good runs. Man what a night. Im going 125 shot in April and getting that damn 10 sec slip...10.99 he we come. Also Lauren;s 396 Big Block Z broke a U Joint on the line. Ouch...but was kinda cool in way...At least he was smilin!!!! Go torque! He said its CVs now for sure. There is another tubbed 280 here tonight too! We are starting to grow!

Anyways my best 1/8th tonight was 7.35 at 96.09 and 11.43 at 119.77 in non lock mode. Yippee!!!!

  8. Yes Sir, I got the adaptors from ROSS. I would suggest his product. No I still have the 240 stubs. I am gonna upgrade to the 280 forged stubs he is making later so I know they will last. There is so many choices. If you want to do this only once I would suggest saving enough money for the 4340 Billet steel adaptors and stubs. Then get a set of axles from Mikelly or Moser. I am running an open diff by the way so an LSD would be just fine I expect.

No, but the money required to put an LS1 into a foxbody and look that pretty could of been used to build a 302 that could smoke most cars.

I forgot what the typical price range... But I think those 302 only need like 400-500 of bolt ons to hit high 10's

    Now thats funny!!!

  10. Mike get the CV conversion done. I just cut a 1.63 60 at the track today. I broke my 411 R200 last week on a series of 1.6s. Im surprised the R200 went before the axles but they are much stronger than the U-Joints for sure. I switched back to a 3.54 rear today and cut a 1.63 and 11.99 at 112 so there wasnt much difference between the two except the MPH was a little higher. I posted my time slip on the Hybrid TIMES forum. Gotta love that 3500 EDGE convertor...
