what do you guys think about Lights to aluminate the license plate. I believe its state law that I have to have them on there, but not really sure as what to do.
-
I sure hope this fiberhair is able to hold up to the stress when I get a LS1 motor in there.

The exhaust tip is not going to stay on...just put it on their to see what it would look like. I think is sticks out way to far.

zeeyah i have to be honest when i first seen your rear fender i thought that it looked ugly (not a fan a flaring fenders). recently however i found that it grew on me to the point where i think its one of the coolest mods i've seen done a and z. It kinda looks like a mustang GT500. your car looks awesome. So your saying that you did use fiberglass or what? -

hey grumpy you should go to my thread and tell me what you think off my corvette style talights. "77 280z restoration project" http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=132698

grumpy i have a quick question for you. When i rebuilt my motor i neglected to inspect the threads for the spark plugs. So i completely assembled the motor and when i was putting the spark plugs in i noticed the threads on the number 4 cylinder was cross threaded. How do i straighten then back out without taking the head off again. I would just retap the threads but im worried about getting metal shaving in the cylinder. any ideas? thanks joe.

when you welded the headlight bucket and the fenders together did you have a problem with warping? Also how did you connect the airdamn together with the headlight bucket? obviously you can weld it, so did you use fiberglass? I have just one more question for you. You obviously did some extensive bodywork to this car how do you feel about the quantity of bondo you use. Congrat man, i can't wait to be where you are at. joe -
Do a compression test man...then you'll narrow it down into a couple options. joe

Thanks for the comment man forchunet. Im not sure what you are asking on the quarter panel... but what i did was crimp the edge of the existing panel and laid the replacement panel inside the crimp and tacked her down. After that it i just use plan ole' body filler.

Thanks Beau your my kinda' guy!

Thank for the comment man...when you spend so much time on something you like to hear stuff like that. I had alot of surface rust issues on the car and for that all i did was bead blast it and through some osfo on it. The rear drivers side fender was ate up pretty bad so i had to cut it away and get a replacement panel for it. Yeah, i built the taillight panel up with fiberglass.

for the front I got hubs off a 84 300zx turbo. In the rear all I did was that the stub axle and brake drums to a machine shop and had them redrill the pattern to 5/4.5. Joe

good job man looks like your car and your shop is coming along nicely.

Grumpy- I have a 77' 280z l28 N/A and Im running the car seasonal, so i don't have to have emissions anymore. so I would like to pull it all off and rid of it. what can i pull off and cap off. I gues me question is...whats the procedure? Thanks, Joe.
-
I still need some more info what to take off as far as emissions stuff and how to do it. Im only running this car in the seasonal so i don't need to I/M my car. making all the emissions stuff usless. if i could get some help on this subject it would get the ball rolling on this car again. thanks joe.
-
what all do i have to do to get rid off my emisssions stuff? I broke the bpt vavle and i can't get a replacement for it so what do i do? is there a way to bypass the valve without having to take all the emission stuff of with it? Or just what do i have to do the get this thing running right? BTW i have a n47 intake manifold and a n42 head.
-
okay heres my problem I have an n42 head and a n47 intake manifold. i broke the bpt valve and i can find a replacment for it. I don't need all the smog stuff because im running seasonal tags. so how do i ditch all the smog and what do i have to plug off to get this running right? thanks jo

the only pulley i powdercoated was the fan pulley.. the harmonic balancer was left alone, because of the rubber seal and the alternator was replace with a crome one from schucks auto.
