  1. 05/17/2012 Been away for awhile because of some family issue. Didn't have much time to work on the z, but I did documents when I had the time to work on the z last couple ago. As of now the z just got painted, and it's still at the shop getting polished and buff. Hopefully ill get it back by tomorrow, before the car meet in Manteca, ca on Saturday. I'll post pic once it's ready, 04/10/12  I will be running (4) 6x9, (2) 3.5 speakers, amp, and a jvc deck. 1 pair of 6x9 will be mounted by the tool box compartments behind the driver and passenger seat.  The pair of speaker that I will be using for that location is Polk audio. Bought these cheap from Craigslist for $50.  The other pair of 6x9 are Rockford fosgate power T1692,  and I got it from eBay for $55.  These pair will be going onto the plastic panel on the tail housing. The pair of 3.5 Polk db351 2-way  speakers will be going onto the air vent on the passenger and driver side dash. This setup is kinda like member shika805. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/87513-interior-re-do-and-custom-subwooferspeaker-install-enjoy/ Now that audio system and amp are all install n fasten in place, me and my brother went ahead and remove the original 260z deck, and had to dremel trim the side and corner of the counsel of the deck location.  Then to install the JVC Deck. Now let's hear some beats. . 04/21/2012 Today I decide to modify my taillights into the 240z, that I have kept for years. For some reason, I just like the 240z taillight more then the 260/280. I use a thread on this site to help me on this setup. Forgot what the link was but it's there. Didn't really took picture either on the process, so sorry, but it's a pretty straight forward modification. Before and after 5/09 Couple last shot of the car before getting painted. Driver door jam Passenger door jam
  2. Was very busy over the last month, an didn't have much time to work on it. But I be sure to updated more since school is almost done.
  3. I did this setup once with an rb25. I used the stock 280z driveshaft and it plugs right into the rb20 transmisson.
  4. I will need the hood, rear hatch, fenders and the upper quarter panel section. Please pm if you have these. Thanks
  5. I'll look into msa, but I was just wondering have any of you guys try the one from eBay out?
  6. I am going to have my car painted this week, and was just wondering where do you guys purchase your windshield seal at. The guy that took off my windshield, he told me that there is 2 type. One, I can install my chrome molding trim, and the other one I cannot. I would prefer the oem style, so I can install my chrome molding trim.
  7. According to this thread http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/55189-getting-an-autometer-speedo-to-work/page__p__499908__hl__%2Bautometer+%2Bspeedo+%2B__fromsearch__1#entry499908 they mention About autometer speedo So since mine is a 3.70, do I just get the 18 tooth 3.70 for my rb25 transmisson?
  8. I went ahead and purchase me a 5' electrical speedo from summit. I was just wondering what modification will I need to do to make the speedo work on my rb25 transmisson along with my rear end that I have. I have a 3.7 ratio, clutch type LSD from a 87 z31 turbo. I will like to no which VSS will suit my setup.
  9. Nice red color, that's kinda the color that I am trying to get. Do you happend to have the paint code for it. Plus how much did it cost you for that paint kit? 2 picture from member ihaverustedz using red ppg Shopline, that he sent to me Hey here's only I took today in the sun. This is with the shopline paint and DCU2010 clearcoat. Here's another picture. These were About 2 hours fresh after they came out the paint booth.
  10. If he decide to not take the front, im interested! But will like to see some picture first. Thanks
  11. Fuzzydicerule and Bluedensity, I decide to go head and pay my neighbor to do it. Don't want to risk breaking anything, since the glass are like new. 03/01/12 Will today I got off work early, and got home and there was a package for me. It was my gauge. . Now, finally to complete my 2 5/8 gauge setup on my dash, I received my autometer phantom fuel level gauge 5815 73-10 ohms pre 89 fords. Got it from eBay, for 25.00, ship. To Install the fuel level gauge I have to get 2 resistor to make it work with the z sending unit. 1 at 350ohm and the other at 360ohm. I order these resistor from Newark.com.  Took at least 2 days for me to received them.   Dismount the 260z factory fuel/volts gauge from the dash and open up the gauge. Unscrew all the bolts at the back of the gauge, and move the plastic glass from the gauge. Now you have the autometer gauge and the original housing from the 260z. To wire up the autometer fuel gauge. Both resistor needed to be mounted together and solider to a gauge wire and connect 1 end to sending and the other end to ground on the gauge. Gauge have 3 connection at the back of the gauge. Ground, I connect it with the light bulb ground to the gauge wiring ground on the z. Sending, to yellow wire, and ignition to green wire.  Now mount the autometer gauge into the z gauge cup, and tighten it with the autometer bolt that used to hold the gauge in place. Now mount the gauge back onto the dash like how you took off the gauge.  I use this page to wire up my autometer fuel level gauge. http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/61300-how-to-make-autometer-fuel-gauge-read-properly/
  12. As long as that kit gives me that glass look and protect my paint then I will be willing to pay that price. Add that esc600 kit to the ppg paint that I pm you, then give me a total. Thanks
  13. I sent you a pm, Can clearcoat really be spray on any single stage, or only on the name paint brand?
  14. Just got done talking to my neighbor, and he say it's Rm paint(Basf)single stage. I have not herd of these paint before, and was just wondering if these are okay. I ask him about the shopline, but he claims that what he has is way better. He can get a gallon, with the other supplies to mix it for $425.
  15. Wickiewicked, I am now debating ppg or DuPont as of now. Ihavearustedz, thanks I would look into Shopline. But, by any chance do you mind posting up some picture of your car with the Shopline red paint? My friend quote me about $1100.00 for paint, supplies, prep, and shop time. He mention the paint brand, but I forgot what it was, its somthing about the paint that is already premix with clear coat. Once I get the name brand I would post it up. On the other hand, how many quarts of paint does it take to cover a s30.
  16. My 260z is getting prep for paint, and it should be ready to be painted in 2 weeks. I will be going with the factory color red paint like my engine bay in my build thread. Im in the market for some quality paint, not cheap or very expensive. Just somthing that will last me 3-4 years, while the car is being garage kept most of the time.
  17. I will have some video up after I get my car painted. Hopefully by next month it should be done. Its been 2 weeks already and I miss driving it already. I used to have a l28et on my 75 280z, but I sold that thing. During that time I had a megaflow and it sounded pretty loud compareing to the greddy.
  18. 02/18 Saturday, I went ahead and took off my whole front end, doors, hatch, weather strip, and mark x on the hoes that needed to be weld and the dents that needed to be fix. Antenna, driver mirror, and rear bumper hole (shock) will all be weld shut.   Before and after I'm still debating if I should have my hatch window and my front windshield taken off, and reinstall it at the price of $150.00 from another neighbor who does mobile service for auto glass. Do you guys think $150.00 sounds fair enough?  Â
  19. How much did you bought the pair for. I'm also looking for a set. Anyone?
  20. So, when can I visit the z, lol? Your z looks fabulous, makes me wanna spend more time on mine now. Hopefully by next week, I should be able to get mine all prime and ready for paint. Hopefully get it painted by this month. By the way, nice jz
  21. 02/08 Its very difficult to find a direct fit pillar pods, so yes I decide to go with the 2 1/16 autometer pods for the side gauge setup. Below is a clip of the straight pipe 3" greddy exhaust sound that I promise for ya. Taken during Super Bowl weekend. So now that's that, I have now decide to give my car to my next door neighbor to fix all the dents, dings, and holes. Then he will be premiering the whole car,  and paint the z after next month is over.Â
  22. 02/01/12 -School just started and got a little caught up with school,  so don't have that much time to work on the Lady. -But couple days ago I managed to figure out what is causing the sputter, bogg when it hits boost. I had that problem, because I route my vacuum line to my bov wrong. At first I connect the bov bottom vacuum nipple to the turbo hotside pipe. Yes, it will release pressure but won't go into boost while driving. While cursing through online n reading through some forum I came up with the same issue, and decide to do what they say. Now, I disconnect the bottom nipple and now connect the upper on the bov, and plugged it to my intake manifold for vaccum. Took it around the block, n BAM no more sputter n back fire. -I mention above that I have install the greddy boost control. While since it was a use controller, the pervious guy set it at 10 psi.  While driving at 10 psi, yes the car sure pull hard when it hits boost mode, but sometimes when it hits 10 psi it will back fire or sputter. Now I'm thinking is it fuel now that is causing that problem? -Probably next month I will be upgrading my maf to a z32 and will be purchasing a aeromotive fpr 13109 and upgrading the injectors into rb26, n see if that is the problem. -While that is being done n said, I was able to get some picture of my exhaust system that the muffler shop did. It's 3 inc all around, with a flex pipe and a greddy Evo muffler. -For $175.00, from flex pipe to exhaust. It's super quite, and I like how it sounds. I'll post up a video of the exhaust clip once I have that free time.
  23. 11/08 - 01/10/2012 These 2 months I have been really busy with these holidays and nothing major has been done. Just fender flare, greddy turbo timer, and greddy boost control, apexi sfc neo gen install. Fender flare I have purchase from eBay,  http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?itemId=180772011458 Cost me around $165, shipped from San Diego, California. It came with some screws, and none of the flare was mark to tell which  side goes to where. But that wasn't a big problem for me. I had a color choice of black or white so I decide to go with black, and the finished of the flare looks great. Before to after As for the  Greddy boost control I used this diagram that I found online to help me install it to the car. The apexi sfc neo gen , their are 7 wires that I hook up after researching through other sites. Sfc to ecu pin Red and red/white to pin 58 w/b battery control Green to pin 7 y/Red tech signal Gray to pin 38 r/L Brown and black to pin 60 b ground Yellow wire to black pin going to ecu White wire to black pin going out to afm Next update would be on my exhaust system that I been focusing on these couple days ago.Â
