04/25/2011 - I received my techno toy tension control arm and bump steer spacer from member"Starchamp". I know it's a steal buying it from him, because techno toy sell tension rod $200.00, bump steering spacer $80.00, plus shipping fees and tax. But thanks to his kindness, I was able to get it for $200, ship. -Tension rod and bump steer spacer, both install. Now just need weld-in rear camber plates,  front and rear sway bar, then my suspension setup will be finished.Â

I received my camber plates from ground control yesterday, and i was very please of it. The part I didn't like is that it didn't came with a manual or instruction to install these baby on. Will after installing these on my car, that night i decide to search on google if any of the s30 guys did the same way as I had. Will it appears that someone did it much different from what I did, and mounted there's differently. (There's) (Mine) So does it matter? Or is my way of mounting it is totally wrong?Â

I have one that is been wire up for the L28et. You might have to double check the wiring before you install because he had a aftermarket ecu at that moment. Oh and the injectors clips from the harness has been cut also, but I have the clips for it also. Just need to be solider and rewired. 50 shipp, if intrested then pm me. Thanks

April 19, 2011 Yesterday, I received my camber plates from ground control and was very happy on the quality. The suck part is that, they didn't include a manual on how to install these onto the s30. So for now, im on my own .  Before I can start to measure where my camber plate is going to be mounted at, I will need to cut the top round peace that is in the center of the z engine bay strut housing (sorry dont no what its called, but from my knowledge, this is the best way of explaining it lol).   Then I use a paint marker to trace out the camber plates, so i will know what is needed to be cut off and kept.  I then used a air disc cutter to cut off the highlighted part. Will after an hour and a half cutting both side, this is how it looks like. Uninstall and install plates on vehicle.  Install my coilover onto the plates and here's is how the front looks like.Â

seller only has one set, because during that time my cousin ask me to ask him also. will for now, i am just using the 79 280zx calipers.
-
I got those off from ebay, 3 months ago for 100 shipp. He included an manual on how to install these, so it's a pretty straight forward swap. I'll post more pix, after i source some calipers, and e-brake cable from the wrecking yard this weekend. Those caliper is a headache to source, and I feel that i got lucky enough to come by these.

April 17, 2011 - Got a little busy on Saturday and didn't had that much sunlight on the z. Got some front hubs from pick n pull, since mine are beat up and won't spend freely like it use too and a set of cv from a 280z.  Next day, I woke up earlie in the morning to mount up my front and rear coilover onto my strut tub. For some reason when mounting the tokico strut into the tube, the strut was short by 1 Inc on all 4 of them. Went to home depot and got a 1 1/4 metal pipe. Got back home then I cut 1 inc of the 1 1/4 pipe to put it into the strut tube as spacer, so it will fasten the strut in place.  So then I begin to start with the rear first. I will be running custom machine bracket to run 1979 280zx cross-drill rotor, and  caliper.  Pic of the rear strut assemble with coilover and slot drill rotor from a 79 280zx  While the rear was almost complete, I then assemble the front coilover, and strut into the strut tubes. I wanted to mount it onto the car badly, but i couldn't do so, since my ground control camber plates hasn't came in yet. So again, I will have to wait for tomorrow.Â

April 15, 2011 - Pick up my strut tube from getting section by apex944. Result, looks a bit shorter then before. Now that being done, I can go really low. - Still waiting on silver-motor to send my ground control camber plates that i place an order last week. They seem to be taking forever, and contacting them through email isn't helping, because it takes a day for a single respond. So really don't no what's the deal is with them. - Will Got home today and 4 245/45 16 Yokohama es100 tires was at my front door. It was deliver from orange county, California. Bought these for 300.00 shipp, about 70-80 percent left on these.  I then went to my friend tire shop and had him mount these onto my Wats. Finally, I can see if these -19 offset will clear my front-end with my cousin regular zg flare. More update tomorrow Â

Also looking for a set of new or used if anyone have it. I try contacting mm 5 times with no luck at all, so still looking.

I also have a set of 16x7 konig rewind like yours that I'm thinking about selling, after I get my other pair of Watanabe. Later on today I am suppose to go pick up a pair of rear brake caliper, e-brake cable, and 15/16 Mc from his 1979 280zx, that the guy is selling it cheap for 60 bucks. Plus, after work my strut tube are done from getting section, so I'm suppose to pick that up too. Will post picture on the result after school tonight. Daz, looks like your moving a bit fast there, keep up the good work. I'm thinking about planning a trip down south during the summer for car shopping and would like to check out your project if you don't mind. Will, I was just carious were you going to be droping an rb swap? If yes, how soon.

April 13, 2011 -It's been almost 2 months now, since I had work on the s30. Been busy working with the 510 lately untill, just last weekend I sadly sold the car to a local guy for a price i couldn't refused. Now, that the 510 is outer the way I can pick up where I had left off.     -Freddy intake-manifold is still in progress on getting powered coat and clean from the company. While I wait, they sent me some picture on how they prep it - For those 2 months that I was out, i managed to get a pair of Watanabe 16x9.5 -19 offset. People had ask me why just one pair? The reason why I got 1 pair for now is that, to see if it will clear my front suspension setup, because I am not into that stagger look of 16x9 -13 up front and 16x9.5 -19 in the rear, and would much prefer 16x9.5 all around. - With that being said and done, I then place an order from silvermotor for a front set of spacer to clear my toyota 4x4 caliper, along with new cross drill rotors, ground control camber plates and steel braided lines last week. - On the other hand I decide to take my strut tube to get it section. I was debating to take it to ground control (400.00) or techno toy (350.00), since they just 30-40 minute away from me. Lucky a fellow local hybridz member "apex944" message me to take it to him instead, charging me at 280. So of crouse, I drop it off to him instead. When i got home my tokico illumina had arrive. I'm running mr2 front(bz3099) and 240z front(bz3015) in the rear according sectioning spec.Â

I sent them an email yesterday and haven't herd anything from them yet. Jmortensen, if you say it's 14mm then will you kno if it's the short, long, most bilstein? Because on their site it has those three option to choose from. I also had call them and talk to one of the guys. He told me to send a picture of my Coilover setup so he would be able to help me out, when I haven't received or gotten my parts assemble yet.
-
I decide to just drop off my strut tubes at techno toy tunnin to get it section for 350. I just went ahead and also order me 2 each of the mr2 and 240z of the tokico adjustable strut. I also wanted to order a set of camber plates for the front, from groud control. On their site, they need to know the spring perch I'd and strut diameter in mm, (top and middle) before I can process the order their. So anyone who has run this setup or no the answer to this, can that person help me out?
-
I managed to take off the ground control front coilovers on my front-end, then was able to take out the strut 361002 kyb. So now I'm positive that my friend buddy has not yet section it. I had call techno toy tuneing and they charge 350 for labor work and ground control charge 400 plus tax. So before I jump onto either company, anyone know any local shop here in Sacramento that can section it for me, or any hybridz member that had done this job locally?
-
I have contact ground control head quarter and they will charge me 400 just to get my tube section, clean and repainted. Plus they say I will need 4 new bump-stops to support my setup. So my question is, 400 a bit over pricing of getting it section? Below is a picture of a finish section s30 strut tube.

Okay, I manged to took apart the rear coil-over set-up. The shocks from the rear are kyb part number 361001 240z struts, so I'm guessing the shocks are just stock all around? I also got the coil-over springs part number, which is the rear are 1000.250.0150 and the front are 1000.250.0175. So my question is, did he ran all shock factory height struts?
-
I just purchase a complete kit of ground control coilover from my friends buddy car. Its a complete bolt on, onto my car. The thing is that the shocks are blown and I was reading online that I must go with the shorten shocks. Is that necessary, that I must run those? Or will the stock shocks, will just work also. If yes, anyone has the tokcio lllumina part number for the front and rear?

watanabe 16x9.5 -19 or ccw 16x10.5 -32

Yes, that's probably the best option for me to go with. When you received those, can you post up picture on how they look like, for reference. -
watanabe 16x9.5 -19 or ccw 16x10.5 -32
voltron_boi replied to voltron_boi's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I order 2 16x9.5 -19 Watanabe wheels and is expecting arrival anytime. While waiting for the wheels to arrive, I want to install my toyota 4x4 front brakes onto my 260z. I read and search and only saw modern-motorsports who makes a spacer for the upgrade. With his bad communication, I don't think I would want to go through the hassle with him. So my question is beside the mm spacer, who else sell them? plus what modification will I need to install the wheels onto the front? -
03-07-11 -Been waiting and waiting, and today finally my manifold is going to be arriving from powder-coating. My figure are cross, hoping it will turn out the way I thought it will be. So at the mean time, here's are some picture of a swap-meet that I attend yesterday in sacramento with my 510.

02/24/2011 - Wow I almost forgot that I had a z and a build thread for her lol and it been awhile since I work on the 260. Been on the ratsun site looking up info and parts for this new toy, a 73 510 2 door. Will here's the story. - Pick up a 73 510 in Hayward, California last couple weeks ago. Drove it home with no issue, but the suck part is that i smelled exhaust foam all the way back to sacramento. Had to made couple stops to make catch my breath. Thinking because of no weather strip on trunk and thats how it got in. Will below is some spec of the dime that I can identify for now so enjoy. Spec. -1973 datsun 510 with "no rust" -Stock unknown rebuilt 4 cylinder engine (single webber, aftermarket header with 2.5 exhaust pipe with maga-flow muffler) -full airbag system on 4 corner -2 front gsr leather seats -stock rear differential -unknown 13 Inc wheels - okay enough with the 510 and let's get back to the build thread of the fair-lady. The other day my exedy clutch master cylinder and clutch sleeve came in, so I was able to install that onto the car. - Now, I'm just waiting for my Freddy manifold and my intercooler piping to get powder coat, so as soon as those arrive I'll give it another update.Â

I have a rear 240z bumper that is on prettie good shape. I posted it up on the parts for sale. Plus I'm from Sacramento.
