  1. I took the top of the shock from the 240 and put it on the 280 shocks so the ride should be the same. Hey Time what did you do for a rear sway bar? It looks like it would be hard with the R230. Mike

  3. Tim, I bought the car last year and when I was towing it back to my house one of the rear tires fell off. The pass side controll arm was ground down about 1/2". Time for the junk yard again.
  4. I am about to order a set of rear Tokico illumina shocks for my z. I want to make sure that I have the right part #, Car is a 1972 240z but I have 280z rear control arms and struts. Part # BZ3013 is the part # that I got off Tokico web site. I am going to run Arizona z sport springs also. thanks Mike
  5. I looked at my other 280z control arm and it was ok. The other side must have been bent at some point in time. Back to the junk yard now. Mike
  6. Today I pulled out my 240z control arms and strut ass to put in some 280z units. But now I have problems, the angle is all wrong for the half shaft. Are the 240 and 280z not the same? I wanted the 280z for the stronger parts and my pass side 240z control arm is bad from when the tire came off. Mike

  8. I now have all of the parts to make the r230 swap complete.
  9. I had low 11 sec 1977 280z for about 5 years without any chassis reinforcing. I never had a problem with anything, but this time I am going to run a cage and subframe conn on my 240z.

  11. For the motor that you have I would not go smaller than 3". The LT1 comes from the factory with 2.75..
  12. I moved to the Bay Area from San Antonio and have never looked back. There are alot of nice places to visit when you come, but I would goto Yosemite. The water falls in Yosemite are flowing alot of water right now. Monterray is a very nice place to stay and visit sites close by. Good luck Mike
  13. I have used the Datsun shifter in the past. I also mounted it to the floor without any problems. I have a shifter out of a 2000 Camaro and it works good.

  16. Don, does this roll bar kit put the main hoop in the stock 240z seat belt holes? I am looking for a kit right now but I want to keep my stock seet belts. Mike

  20. Mudge I Bought the cable from the link that you gave me. The cable should be here soon. I will run the Freescan and I want to order Tunercat soon. The motor runs good when it is on. Mudge put my ecm on his car and took of Vats. Thanks for all of the input. mike
  21. For testing right now I have the fuel pumps set up to bat + direct.
  22. I got the Lt1 to start for the first time. It runs for about 10 sec then stops. I can start it back up but it will die in 10 sec. I will have to check all of the wires. Mike

  24. Thanks for making it clear, If you look in the summit mag you will find diff shape mandrel exh pipes. All I did is if I had to make a turn I would Cut a section of Mandrel out and then weld it in. I also used a mandrel bend where the header collector is. It is alot of work but the LT1 swap is alot of work also. I just want to do it right. Fuel system I used a small pump to pump fuel into a Surge tank. I made the 4 port surge tank out of aluminum and it holds about 16 oz of fuel. I am using the Walbro 255LPH HP #GSL 392 fuel pump for the motor. I am also running 6an line from the tank to the engine.
