Yeah, but closed loop provides 100000x times the advantage and control however
Huh? Lets see, I could run leaner than stoich and thushly was able to yank more MPG out of the car than most, and the car does what I WANT every second of its lifespan versus closed loop which changes (in some ways absolutely 'good'). I'm not seeing this 100000x difference.
I suggest to most by and large to stay closed loop, many large cam folks run open loop only say 1200 RPM and lower, I had my reasons for going open loop and they largely had to do with the speed of tuning factor which was mostly out of my control without ditching my dyno date.

I think the "talking lady" would be kind of neat to do, although yes I probably would get annoyed from time to time, and there are so many things I dont have hooked up that a 280ZX/ZXT does - so I think I'm willing to live without it. I am fairly certain my fascination wish such device is more a chuckle, "Look at what Nizzy was doing in the 80s" - kind of neat but I know how to read gauges on a regular basis so thats what I'll keep on doin

That depends, if it has an R200 and you want an R200 of another ratio, its just a diff swap. If it has an R180 and you want an R200, its a little more involved.

I have that article I believe, still not my cup of tea though. I just dont see a big deal about $0.20 difference, its the total that ticks me off

V8 + big cam = natural EGR

Costs some moola to make small cubes fast and stick together.

I suppose that may be an advantage to open loop tuning, 6 pulls and I was "done." I made really no power after my 3rd pull, had 50# TQ by pull #2, AF was done almost completely on my first flash. Timing for driveability, takes some more work!

Voice recognition software still sucks, wonder why so many of them went out of business? The ones that work ok for the most part, require many hours of training. Ford is using voice recognition stuff though, so maybe investigating that would be usefull for something.
How has your day been? I dont know how serious you were about that, but I'd be rather embarrased if I had to program my car to be my friend or imaginary lover.

My donor was an automatic, but I already had a 5 speed in the car anyway. Remove one simple peice from the end of the crank, voila ready for your manual trans. I lucked out on a $150 donor, 70k miles on the clock.

These cars are great, I really want an FRC Vette.

na the Z06 is my dads' date=' but i drive it and wash it, and wax it, and detail it, and do everthing to it... i also showed my dad how to launch it, speed shift, powershift, etc etc..... i kinda showed him how to drive stick..
i even paid the 1st car payment. so i consider it kinda mine lol.

Uhh, somehow only the quote made it to the post... I have never powershifted any of my cars, just because it is hard on the trans synchros - and I sure wouldn't want to pay the price for a new Z06 transaxle

I agree with Moby, despite my non-functioning ignition transistor
A cam setup ALONE without even touching the head will border on the $500 area, much less header, different carbs if you chose, yada yada. Plus the turbo will have better driveability than a peaky NA setup, and with better low end has the potential for better MPG, plus its injected.
If your 5th gear feels like 4th gear then you have the early 5 speed, 5th gear on those is .864, 4th gear is 1:1, making them so close together its hard to tell them apart.

Yep, MTBE for example raises octane but kills approximately 1-3% power versus "normal" gas. Alcohol also has high octane, but low energy content and runs cooler, and is "corrosive" if you dont run the engine often (some people run oil with the fuel). I have a stoichiometry table of various fuels somewhere if someone is curious.

If your looking for hipo then I'd get full roller rockers, or keep the RPM under 6200.

Nice Butt Man
Hey, you dropped the soap!

270cc I believe

Well, he was bouncing off the limiter in neutral like a jackass, I suspect crank resonance and/or oils starvation. Who knows.

How about this Eclipse? I bet it would go for cheap
Supposedly this car was putting 400 to the ground.

I wish I could help ya, I just dumped some N42s not long ago. Can you make your way to a yard? What part of CA are you in? There are two links on the chain that should be polished or colored, noticeably different from the rest of the chain. These line up next to a dot on each gear, so it should have been idiot proof...

20 and you have a new Z06? Geebus!
-
Just look at the O2 numbers and fuel trims, that will tell you if its the O2s or something related to fuel.

Then once you take the trans out of gear, there is nothing about the driveline to worry about.

This is an automatic car?

I have EGR physically on my car but its programed out. I believe its 2000 or 2001 that the LS1 dropped EGR because its not needed, it doesn't take much cam to do a natural EGR effect for the sniffy though![:)](//forums.hybridz.org/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png)
