  1. Bernardd could you burn me a chip for 35 lbs injectors as well as some new timing curves, just let me know how much if you are willing to burn one. tbs
  2. sorry no updates yet, this is my last day of spring break so next week I'll be able to get back into the shop at school. But this week I've just been trying to get my car back together so I can drive it, I installed a ACT clutch kit , garret t3/t4E, and I'm building my full 3inch exhaust right now. so close I can't wait! tbs
  3. bernardd so are you saying you can increase injector plus as well? tbs
  4. sleeper's doing it with a hacked mas. tbs
  5. yah hows about a $250 welding job and $85 steel plate to hold it all together. And still not enough information on how to desing cam lobs so I can have billet cams turnned. Guys if this is going to get done I need cam shaft help, For the first cam I want it designed for turbo applacation, that can pull to 7000rpm if some anyone can help me understand how to make them I'll get right on this. I'm sorry that this isn't a happy update but it happens and the only thing I can do is keep pushing though till the head is done. tbs
  6. I removed me, AAC, FICD,Air Regualor, EGR, POP off valve. And my car starts up on first crank in 25 degree weather. But then again I was running 84 ECCS instead of 81. tbs
  7. ok like tony pointed out I'm going to be cutting two construction holes inbetween the welds right between the valves. Also I'm pinning the oil passages together and milling chamfer on the exhaust side of the head so that internal jacket can be welded soild. To finish it up I'm going to face my sufaces and redrill the bolt holes. Thats the game plan sorry no pics. tbs
  8. I'll send tec280zx a pic on how I'm going to weld together. tbs
  9. hey thanks for hosting and posting my pics. Also Tony I totally understand what you mean about doing something that everyone says is impossible, I got a lot of instructors that are going to take there hats off to me once I'm done and prove that it works. tbs
  10. UPDATE! Guys I'm done milling my heads! Please email me and I'll send you pics I can't get them to post tbs
  11. Lockjaw if you get your hands on one I would love to see it on your z. Also as a side note my head got pushed back due to lack of the proper cutter. It will be here next week. Soon guys I'll have a head ready to show. tbs
  12. http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/urltrurl?lp=ja_en&url=http%3A%2F%2Fnkondo-web.hp.infoseek.co.jp%2Fhyoushi.htm here is a good site from japan, the tunner is called shake down. I do believe they will have some usfull parts for your L6 build up, including a timing tensioner that will let you rev to 13,000rpm! tbs
  13. try a little heat and I mean little on the aluminum you don't want to use to much and melt it to the stud. Be careful with easy outs, if it feels like it's not coming out then perpare to break a easy out. to prevent this try and keep the easy out close to the same size as the stud. Thats my best advise I can give. Just be Careful. tbs
  14. To complete my head build up I need the blueprints for the L28ET. Does anyone know where I can get them or supply them to me. Also I need a set for the 92 KA24DE. tbs
  15. Thanks to MACK my second head arrived this week and I'll be cutting it down and face milling the heads down and getting ready to weld them together. At this moment going to say real soon and the heads will be welded together; note I won't have cams made yet or the valves back in. I'm going to give this worthy head a clean up and a mild port job first. I'll have a mock up of part of a head ready soon to get my chains and cams alignment set up. I have a lot of work ahead of me before I can use the head on a running motor but having the head complete is a big start. tbs
  16. Look again searching for "p90 porting" on the boards like a 5 page theory on porting. Also check other boards that don't apply to this head to gain more ideas on the theory. Then come up with your own port design. I've looked into it and to do it right all the ports would have to be welded to get the required shapes for flow. To me it's not worth it. tbs
  17. endurence test, WOW Hows about we let me get the car going and make sure it's running perfect before I try and kill my car right off the bat. Guys I think I'm going to have to wait and break in the motor after I bore and stroke it before I go nuts like this. tbs
  18. You know I almost forgot that I'm the engineering student building the head and not my friend MACK. I'll decided what to do with manifolds for sure when the time comes but I know I'm not going to use the factory KA ones I can't stand them. I still have a few passages to fix and reroute before I can make it a bolt on. This project will take me time and right know I'm more concerned with getting the two heads welded together and showing you the mocked up head with chains and cams up on a bare block. Dan I know my spelling is bad give me a break, that’s not my strong asset. And yes I can do the head for 120 about because that’s with my college helping. With me machining the parts out and having the welding instructor weld them together. Note I can’t say anything on heads after this I bet I’ll have to out source the welding jobs. Stress there is not much I can garrote here on that part but I do know that the head bolts are help. Although I'm going to make it mandatory that if anyone want to attempt to this head that they use ARP head studs. I know the Factory L6 heads like to warp in the middle so I'm going to ask if we can stress relive the head, possible temper the head to get back some of the ductility. I'll be posting the complete process with pictures and write-ups of how it goes. Dan one last thing yes the bore spacing is weird on the KA but so is the L6 because of the thrust baring that is in the middle of the block the same holds true for the KA, that’s why I'm using the middle of that for the middle of the L6 head. Don't worry I still haven't given up on a billet head for the L6 I've started laying in the ports and am not sure if I want to make the port like the KA or like the OS head. I think the OS ports are better because of less turbulence and more velocity. Alright I've got work to do and will answer any more questions you might have or if you feel that you want more of an explanation I'll give you a call and talk this out over the phone. *Also* OS Giken has a web page FINALLY http://www.OSGiken.co.jp sorry no email yet but I'll keep trying with them I want the Z's to have a nice head even if I'm not the builder for them. I'm trying my best to give you guys your option of what kind of head you want. Later tbs Sorry I needed to spell check it.
  19. OK guys I plan on building the headers for this set up I'm not sure if I want individual trottle bodies or a conventional type with velocity stacks in it. Also I'll be using the CAD software to design a Equal length Exhaust header for turbo and maybe one for non turbo. And yes the 1.5 KA = 24DOHC head. yes I did at first rule this out and now that I have all the tools at my disposal I'm doing it also I talked to an engeneer last year about welding two heads together and said it wasn't possible but I've learned that 99% engeneers out there know nothing about metelergy. Also to use this head you must bore the motor over for valve to cylinder wall clearance. I'll keep you guys up to date on this project. ALso I'll most likely be building the cams and turning them out on the CNC. tbs
  20. Guys give me about 1 month and I'll have pictures of the custom head for the L6. Note that won't be a complete set up just the head and valve train finished. Cams, timing and manifolds will need to be fabricated later. So far the total cost of this head will be about 120 bucks! Top that! I'll report more on the progress of this project when time comes nearer to completion. Also I'll see how things goes but if I can I might bring the head to the West Coast Nations this year, if I don't I'll bring it next year complete and running in my Z. tbs Productions
  21. Mack the fact that it's impossible to find an RB head for a decent price. If you can find one it can be done but I couldn't find one. But Mack I think you and myself are on the same page on a head build up. I'm cutting my first head down Monday. tbs
  22. Kid, your 16 I know what it's like trying to get a z going at 16 and 3 years later it's almost there. These things take time and if you’re going to do something to this motor do it right. I'm suggesting using a N42 head. It’s the best selection as it sets stock for a N/A car but a modified P90 will work as well. Personally I can't stand any of the factories L6 heads. Well this is just my 2 cents. tbs
  23. yah I it's not worth it I tossed that idea away and have two options for a custom head and still working on it. I'll have resluts of the new options by summer I just hope it works out. tbs
  24. Mack how much for that p-90? IF you don't want much I'll take it. Also what condition is it in? tbs
