you know I've seen late model non turbos come with R180's and have CVs. I know not really whats being talked about here but thought I would get the word out just incase some of you first gen zs want cvs with out having to go R200. tbs
-
Well the lengths would be the same for all. As it is right now the turbo sets about 11inches out from the head and the exhaust pipes only go out 8-9inches it might fit I'll have to check and make sure it fits my zx. Also yes I do see now that my wastegate and final collector needs to be changed thanks. But I'm still interested in the 135, 246 as to what it might do for me. I might have to email os giken and ask the man himself why he did it like that. My theory is that because the order is 153624 then the first 3 grouped and the second 3 grouped will create banks first to fire and second to fire and maybe when #1 exhaust and reflects that it will have a greater effect in helping 3 and 5 to exhaust. tbs

Ok guys let put away all the money is better spent else where and its not necessary until X amount of hp. I want to discuss just theory because it seems to me that turbo exhaust header theory is very hard to come by. Now I've made a model for what I believe to be ideal for a L6 turbo header. Here are the pics http://www.needmoreboost.com/turbobluestreak/headertest.jpg http://www.needmoreboost.com/turbobluestreak/headertest2.jpg http://www.needmoreboost.com/turbobluestreak/headertest3.jpg http://www.needmoreboost.com/turbobluestreak/headertest4.jpg http://www.needmoreboost.com/turbobluestreak/headertest5.jpg http://www.needmoreboost.com/turbobluestreak/headertest6.jpg http://www.needmoreboost.com/turbobluestreak/headertest7.jpg http://www.needmoreboost.com/turbobluestreak/headertest8.jpg note I've grouped 135 and 246 I'm not really sure what this will do I'm guessing increase scavenging but I really don't know all I know is that OS Giken grouped one header like this and from what I've seen no other manufacture has ever grouped a header like this. Also I've gone with a 3-2-1 grouping to hopefully broaden the rpm rang of the header. And the primary is 1.5 and secondary 2.5 Ok guys tear this apart and give me some feedback. tbs

Why are you guys arguing about welding verses gluing the decision was made to weld it all of you that are talking about gluing it need to reread thread on the custom 24 head Its been talked about. Besides when was the last time that myself, 1fastz, or Mack have updated this thread with progress. That’s right there are two almost heads done out there and I don't think mine will ever get done it was a great effort but interest and time are fading. I'm sorry but maybe it not meant to be. Thank god AK-Z knows what’s going on, WELD it lol. tbs -
I've been talking to some people and I don't see why I would lose my license. But I'm hoping that I can just wave my day in court buy singing something and saying I'm guilty. I hope because I start my new job monday and don't want to ask for time off on the first week. tbs

Well on my way to the college this morning I was driving my Z. That’s right my foot turns to pure lead when I get in my baby. While traveling 90 in a 55 on SR34 in OHIO I become spotted and pulled over to receive my first reckless op. Court date is next Thursday might lose my license so this sucks but it’s my fault and just want to rant about it. tbs

I need some help I'm at my college ready to bore out the 1-2 shift fork hole but I don't remember which hole to do. Can some one tell me which one it is. When looking into the bell from the front would it be the top, middle, or bottom hole?? tbs

First off I don't have a RB engine, but some of you know on the forum that I've been working on taking 2 KA24de heads to make one L6 head for my L28et. I've decided to finish my project but I'm lacking a set of cams to hold the cam towers into alignment. Guys I need some help in finding a set of stock cams for sale, some one letting me barrow them, or donating a set. Please can anyone help me out I've only got 4weeks of college left and need to get this done before I leave. tbs

Cool I just tore mine down an extra junk rack and pinion to see if I could tell what kind of grease and I found a section in the manual that said bearing grease, I'm not fond of the idea of using bearing grease, so I might use auto trans grease. But I'll let you all know for sure when I call up my Nissan parts guy I think they have done a few there before. tbs
-
Ok guys I'm all set to start rebuilding my rack and pinion I've made the tools necessary to take the unit apart and have all the new seals from Nissan and ready to go. but my fsm says coat with grease and I’m confused because I don't know what kind of grease to use and if it would matter because of it being a power steering rack and pinion. Does anyone know what kind of grease is to be used with this? Is there such a thing as automatic transmission assembly grease that I could use? tbs

This is kind of an update with my Energy Suspension inner pin problem for my 1981 280zx rear control arm kit. I contacted them measured my pins and bolts and told them they would not fit. So they verified that this was true and set another set to me. Guess what my second set is $@#*ing wrong. This is truly some of the poorest quality control that I’ve ever seen. After I just called them and told them the second set is wrong the company told me to just drill them out and make it fit. This kit cost me about $45.00 from Victoria British and I'm getting junk for my money. Because of this I'm BOYCOTTING ALL ENERGY SUSPENSION parts and if anyone knows of another company that makes poly bushings for the s130 please let me know. tbs

Actually the auto air cam in analog gages as well, because my 81 turbo and 80 non-turbo both had auto air and with analog gages. You should pick up a factory service manual mine is going to be very helpful when I refurbish my auto air this winter. tbs

Z31 subframe and suspension on a 280zx?
turbobluestreak replied to rwdawg2's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I think that the s13 would be a better choice because it has upper and lower arms, the control arm pivots are inline with the wheels, and there is a greater aftermarket for upgrading the suspension over the z31. tbs -
ok I just got one of my bushings installed and did anyone with this kit notice that the bolts from the factory sets do not fit. Well my concern is that when I install new smaller bolts that there will be too much slop in the mounting holes on the crossmember that could affect the alignment. So to anyone that has used this kit what did you do to solve the problem? tbs

I've done it not that hard to do just modify the existing conquest rails and you'll be fine. tbs

who makes this 280zx air dam?
turbobluestreak replied to turbobluestreak's topic in Body Kits & Paint
ok guys I got an email back from the company about a group order and he said that he can not cut a price for the part but shipping he said would be less per part so I'm thinking about make an offer for a group order for 10 pieces, any takers?? I'll check back and see how much they would be to get ten parts over here and then redistribute them to who ever wants them. tbs -

The ugly ZX B pillar plastic or stainless
turbobluestreak replied to EZ-E's topic in Body Kits & Paint
I personally love my stainless and would keep it. also that extra metal strip across the top is called on our cars a targa, and yes I'm lead to beleve that it is a rare part. So good thing a keep the one off my parts car. tbs
