If you want to spend $25k, I have a 1972 240z ..body completely restored, engine cost $10k for a professionally rebuilt 3 liter stroker...too much done to list. I have 2 websites with all the info you need about this Z. I plan on driving it from the Detroit area to Huntington Beach next month and keeping there until April. Get in touch at cnpbaker@yahoo.ca if you are interested

ya a lot more than 10k. My 3 litre stroker rebuild cost that. I have a sweet '72 240z, pretty well fully restored and I'll have 25k into it. Good luck

Go to this site. Contact me at cnpbaker@yahoo.ca I'd consider driving it to your door but that will depend on timing. I work out of town for 2 weeks every month and leave Monday www.flickr.com/photos/106921229@N08/

Here's mine....see attached. It is turn key .... body, suspension, fuel system half shafts, R200 fully restored. Low mileage L28 (under 60k), 5 speed and matching R200 from the desireable 1982 280z. No drips anywhere...extremely clean car and pulls very hard. I also sent you an email

Fresh body restoration, 2 stage paint, Mopar Go Green. -
I had the typical cracks and all I did was V grove them out, fill most of the hole with epoxy then fished with body filler. A small fuzzy roller with black paint for the textured look and done. Lots of sanding. If you scroll down through the pics, you'll see the dash https://www.flickr.com/photos/106921229@N08/ Can't wait to get this baby back.

On the 240z tach, the ignition wire runs through it so maybe the issue is there. If not get a new ignition. I had similar issues and after replacing the ignition, it was fine. This is where I got mine and its a quality piece http://www.ebay.ca/itm/NISSAN-DATSUN-240Z-260Z-280Z-IGNITION-SWITCH-STARTER-KEYS-SET-/160976339870 -
Let me know what you have. I have 14' Appliance rims in great shape but want Konigs. I'd let mine go for $300 with good tires

1970 240z Project (Very slow, money is tight)
cbrit replied to Perfect240z's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z
Hello from Windsor, Canada. I have owned 4 240z and know them well. If you have a solid body, little rust especially frame rails, battery tray, etc., you're off to a great start. Unless the engine has been rebuilt, it will need it and that's including the head. Now you can look for deals for a swap, get the head rebuilt, etc., but if you have never worked on a Z , don't do the work yourself. One mistake with cam timing and you'll smack a valve and $$$$$$. For $3000, you can bring your engine to Datsun Spirit and get back a completely rebuilt engine, done right. In the long run, you're better off. -
I'd like some opinions and experiences on your V8 swaps
cbrit replied to dreco's topic in Non Tech Board
I have owned four 240z, a 260z and 280zx. I currently have a '72 240z and I like the z for it's inline 6. Personally, I would not do it and I would not buy a Z with anything other than an inline 6, not even an RB swap. From a stock L24, you can get 200hp at the wheels and 300hp with an L28. I use to love the V8 muscle cars ...had a '70 GTO but a Z is sweet and much easier to work on. -
decided to keep it awhile with plans on some engine mods. If I can get the ac to work, it'll be a great summer daily driver
