  1. Keep it dished for better flame travel, keep around 9.5 w/iron heads and 10.5 with Alum heads, and run IMO Total seal (Gappless Rings). They cost more $$$,but damn there worth it.
  2. The Performer RPM is about 3/4 of a inch taller that the Performer. I would go this way. IMO It really woke up my 383.I find that the Edelbrock Performer RPM package is really a win win deal. What compression are you looking at? Can your budget squeeze out aluminum heads? Good point on the rockers. I used both and I found that the 1:5 were fine.
  3. So your saying Any rust, period would be a bad candidate? frames and floor etc. ?Thanks DavyZ
  4. Would you have enough room to to fit a Performer RPM package? sanse the heads.
  5. My first question is. Why a 305? I'm not doggin your choice, fishniken. But streching a 305 to 327 ???, Will most likely be not as strong as a mild 350. Assuming this is to be a "street" motor. There is "NO SUBSITUTE FOR CUBIC INCHES, EXCEPT FOR MORE CUBIC INCHES"
  6. Ditto.....Also, it might not be a bad idea to drain and flush the whole tank. It would be a matter of time before your new pump will be sucking all the crap on the bottom of the tank.
  7. Evening all, I've been doing drive byes at this site for some time so I finally decided to join up. It looks like I might be getting a new toy to play with, a '73. It "LOOKS" clean from a walk around. But I'm going to looking closer at in the AM. Quick question. What are the things to look out for on these year models. I know the basic, but I know ALL cars of a certain year or model has a "OH!!! Crap I'll pass on that" damage/repair. I've mostly know GM,and Camaro '68-02 and Vette's and Nova and Chevelles. Any thoughts ?
