  1. Magnum Rockwilder, I am doing a complete color change. So I'll need 1 gallon of base and 2 qt of med reducer? I assume. Color I "think" I'll be doing one of the two blues. Magnum Rockwilder, I really do apreciate your input. Do you use there brand clear coat too?
  2. Thanks Magnum Rockwilder , did you use the candy concentrate or straight bc/cc ? Thanks a mil. Also how well did it cover? Will 1 gt of base and 1 qt of reducer cover the exterior and door jams ?
  3. has anyone here used this http://alsacorp.com/paints.htm . Or has seen the final product ? I like the base coats and candies. I'll be painting my Z in about 2 weeks. Cheers in advance

  7. Did you seal it with anything, before you shot the paint? Thanks for the response
  8. BEAUTIFUL, period. 240hybrid how did you like the Dupont Nason, Ful-thane 2k urethane. My '77 is haveing body work done now right now. I was looking at that brand of paint but hav'nt seen it 'till now. I was looking at the Dark blue. I might go that route now. 8) Are going to wet sand it later? does it need it? From the pics it looks pretty damn perfect. Truly a job well done.
  9. Very nice wheels ULISES, I have a question about your kit. how did you adhere the kit ? fasteners? adhesive? both?
  10. Looks great Tim240Z, Did you weld the headlight bucket and fenders together? It looks like it from the pic. I'm debating on doing that mine.
  11. Great day in the morning . Thanks man, just in time for my project.
  12. Thank guys, I'll check i (fuse box) out. Funny thing there was never any clicking until I diconnected the ECU harness. If it aint broke... you know the rest.
  13. OK I found out that the relay that is clicking is the timer relay over the fuse box ( passenger compartment). When it clicks I hear the fuel pump run. Why is it doing it. Is the ignition switch or ignition relay shooting power to it? In the schematics I see they are tied together. But why is it getting power and running the fuel pump. Anyone have a idea? Keep in mind the car runs with no problem. Normal or is something tak'in a dump?
  14. I have been working on my "77 280z getting some bugs out it. The last time it was driven was in 99. I have gotten the car to run pretty good, clean all my sensor connections and so forth . Yesterday for the first time I disconnected the ECU harness. There was alittle corrosion that I cleaned up, then I spayed it down with claener and use di-electiic grease. Now the problem.... I think. The car runs a tiny bit rougher now and I here a clicking sound from the passanger side compartment. It's cycles ever 5-6 seconds. And I hear my fuel pump run up with it. I'm thinking it's the fuel pump relay. Is it normal to cycle like that? At idle , with the igntion on engine and just driving all the time. What's up? P.S. I did a search and was unable to narrow it down.
  15. Go here, http://lighting.mbz.org/tech/relays/relays.html and read up Nismo280zEd. Good info.
  16. Thanks for the response everyone. The '77 I have has a fairly young ('98) compressor and it works fine. I'm trying to keep it for the swap, without forking out the cash for another one. It looks like I'm going to get out the old T-square and welder and try to whip one up.
  17. I went through my tool boxes and forgot a had Panel Holding System, I got when I was in the Air Force. If you go to http://www.eastwoodco.com/ and type in Panel Holding System you will see what I mean. I think I can get it to work.
  18. I have a '77 280Z, that is getting a SBC installed in it. My qustion is would I have to get rid of the A/C compressor and get a different model or can I get bracketry to keep it?.... installed on the SBC ? Thanks
  19. Thanks for your insight, RacerX. Below is charactics of the adhesive they (3M) suggested, to me via e-mail. You made a valid point how will I hold it in place? I guess small sheetmeatal screws would work, if out of sight. Characteristics Bonding Time Range 30 Minute Container Volume 6 Fluid Ounce (US) Cure or Dry Time 4 Hour Work Time 10 Minute Thanks again
  20. Dang!! Cruez. Sorry to hear about the bad news. Well !! better you found it now, than on a cruez. OBTW !!! I got the MSA kit last week.
  21. I too have a '77 (Fed) no cats just an EGR. And by the time the sniff test comes here I would'nt have to worry about it.
  22. What state do you live in and city?
  23. If you have a machanical fuel pump, try swapping it with a electric one. And mount it in the back. Away from the hot engine bay area. I think all three problems are fuel/vaporlock related. I had the same prblem with my 383 Vette.
