  1. Ijust picked up a shop manual. I'll post my findings.
  2. I'm still getting my feet wet on the Z, I just got. Is this a standard 4 prong relay? That is mounted between the switch and battery? or switch and lights?
  3. BUMP. Any one have and answer for the above question ?
  4. Disregard I just found it. http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=10334
  5. that some of the members cars here have an updated/upgraded fusiable link setup on there right fender, replacing the OEM one. I'm trying to find a link and specifics on it. I just picked up my first Z, last Sunday a '77. I think it called a MAXI upgrade. I did a search but no luck. Thanks
  6. week, I hope one of these 2 will be mine 1970 4 speed he is asking 1500 OBO, I favor it more, but the Red head is doable too. Price 3500 OBO. Or 4000 for both. I wish I had 4 bills. Well anyhoo, If the stars are in alignment this week I'll have the '70. Wish me luck. As for my motor, It looks like I'll be going with a 406, on my build.
  7. Try a serch here CHP Super Chevy PHR Good Luck.
  8. Try some back issues from Chevy High performance or Super Chevy. Also try online at there site.
  9. That's kinda, true. If you buy the carb, you also need to be a idle circuit. Poke here
  10. Well, It looks like the "SEARCH" function turned up a winner here. I found one Z I'm looking at getting that has a wiring issue. You ALL answered the question that I was going to ask. Thanks
  11. While I've been looking for a Z, to get I've been following this board and getting info on Z's. My basic question is this. I've noted that JTR is the way to go for most all the people here. I got a catalog (MOTOSPORT AUTO, WWW.zcarparts.com ) from a customer of mine (I work auto retail)and they have a V8 conversion kit(not that pricey). Why is this/or to make it more political correct, not used that much by members here? I guess I'm asking the pros and cons? Thanks.
  12. Ok, I found it It's called Glyptal . Under specialty paints and coating section.
  13. Excellent advise, Grumpyvette. I lot of engine builder forget about the FINER things in in doing a good build. I'm very particular on who's machine shop I'm going to also. Alot of us love buildng motor, but hate rebuilding them 200 miles down the road, just because we neglected to .....do attention to detail. One thing I would like to add/and your opinon. Is the use of (I forgot the name)that stuff you paint in the valley to assist oil drain back. I think I got it for The Eastwood Co.
  14. Just as a side note, pparaska. I did a build up in my old 76 Vette awhile back. I put in a roller 383, Trick flow heads, jacobs ignition, blah, blah..and a 3:55 ring and pinion along with a Tremec TKO 3550. What a mistake. The tranny was great, once I got over the clucky shift. The problem that "I" had, was the 3:55 rear with the 3:27 first gear in the trans. I could give gas and had the shift "... oh !! in about... 3 feet" it seemed like. If I was to be aggressive off the line launching out of 2nd gear was the way to go. I might be blowing smoke, but that was my experiance with my heavy vette.
  15. I have one friend at the local race track that is building one at this time. "Boy that's no help" I've been wanting to this for some time Tomahawk Z. But no funds as of yet. The first time I read that article I was very impressedback in the late '90's. But following that article there were quite a very people writing in about there experiance with the motor. All of it being positive. I'll see if I can track any one down.
  16. Well, I think that's VERY reasonable.(read steal) for that price.
  17. You might find this interesting, Ziggy Vulcan. If you want to also try something different. Vry good read. ANd with a Holley FI I don't think you would be dissappointed. Just a thought.
  18. Ok, I found something that might help you out, fishniken . Check this out.
  19. Another option, Bad Butt motors. I've seen them at work in the UK, very impressive.
