  1. Nice job Terry…Thanks for the tip on for projecting the oval on the curved body panel. I have been trying to come up with a similar idea but couldn’t think of how to do it…thanks…:::Glenn PS: reverse lights are not required in Ontario ether.
  2. I have been running truck trailer lights since the mid eighties. Last year I put in a set of LEDs and they work great. Another economic option for those who prefer the stock look could be the brake light found on the top rear of the small Chevy van. Internally the come in a strip of 10 or so red LEDs and could be modified to fit.
  3. Thanks for the measurement. My main worry is bump steer. The theory being that if you hit a bump and the nose travels up or down the geometry of the steering changes…ether toe in or out. This might even be severe at high speed. The inner assembly should line up with the inner control arm pivots causing the wheels to be parallel. I asked Terry to check his ford unit (in the cold!) and he came up with a distance of about 23†. This is two & 1/4 inches shorter than stock. The Miata is even closer to stock specification at an inch and change over size. I wonder of the rack could be shortened.... Carry on please, fastzcars I think you’re on to something. …:::Glenn
  4. Excellent work ztard! You are truly a gifted welder. I made up a set of duel exhaust tips, two per side with glass wrapped inserts on the tips. I found that when the car is at idle the sound of the spent air traveling passed the ruff edges inside sounds like a bunch of old ladies spitting. I plan to revise my system later this year and move my baffles upstream a bit. Let us know how your design sounds.
  5. hey fastzcars: Could I trouble you for the distance between the inner tie rod ends on the Miada rack. If you could from the ball center lines. A ball park number is OK. Thanks ...:::Glenn
  6. a V12 made by anyone runner up is a late model chev with a T56
  7. it could set up as the ride of the month...it's a lot of work though...
  8. I was at a party for a close retired friend. He was an engineer whose field of specialty was aerodynamics. His company built the wind tunnels for Porsche and Honda. I asked his opinion on the topic. I got a typical 88 year old’s response. “How should I know? Sounds like you got a vortex working there.†He later told me how a Jag he had in the seventies that had the same problem. The factory cure was to put some funny looking “S†pipes on the rear that put the exhaust out in the wind stream instead of taking advantage of the vacuum area at the rear. Scott is on to something. It would be interesting to see what a ribbon tide to a pipe would do at speed. But this raises the issue of fashion over fumes. Brings tears to my eyes…

    V12Z

Hi Scott Yes it’s been a while. Family first right? I have more spare time this year and plan to put the car back on the road. I gotta know…what was Manolo’s and Lavern’s time at the track last year as they are the ones to beat. I might have to kick out the kid...:::Glenn
  10. I might be wrong cc/mi X .0158503 = gal/hr You also might consider the impedence of the injector. A change to low impedence injectors could burn out your ECM if it was not designed to drive them.

    V12Z

Thanks for the invitation Scott. I’ve been a member since the new year. I just needed to get my credentials (web page) together. Otherwise it’s only talk right? The sound? It burbles like a Fiero around town. At full song? The sound of the intakes and the exhaust with the listener in the middle cannot be described with words. I don’t listen to the tunes much. My passengers don’t talk all that much ether. Cheers…:::Glenn

    V12Z

I thought some members would find the concept of a V12Z interesting. http://members.rogers.com/dotdotdot/
  13. happy new year mudge…i am using the accel timing computer with the accel 300+…you can program the base timing curve…the vacuum advance curve…boost retard and N2O retard…there are two rpm activated switches for solenoids or shift lights…it works very well at very high rpm and has been the least of my worries…you will have to purchase a 2bar map sensor (GM 886 8075) separately…your stock lt1(?) efi programme should be adequate until you do major engine changes then I would recommend changing to accel dfi…cheers…
