  1. Beautiful job Tim. You have done an awesome job on the body and judging buy your web sight you have put a lot of thought on the mechanicals as well… Cheers!
  2. 3200# Do I win the prize for the Z lead sled? A '71 with over 800# of motor and transmission. 200+ for the Vette rear full frame and boxed sills stock interior…no cage extra insulation for the sound system Full SS exhaust with headers, resonators and a pair of fat cans with resonated tips Wire wheels added 60# over aluminium It’s going on a diet this winter. 3. Scott: You know, it's the one with the white puck and the green ice...
  4. Hey Kyle: One more question…This rack functions the same as the Z rack right? Some racks reverse the gear so it can function on a front wheel drive behind the center line of the front wheels. I wouldn’t want the car to go left when I steer right. Is the WRX the same? The rest looks really good. I’m not sure we would have to notch the mount or not….looks close though. Cheers!
  5. The new Mustangs sound pretty healthy. New Ferrari 12’s at Mosport. The old Can Am cars that used to rattle the bolts in the stands…something like jgkurz’s 427†Ford Cheers!
  6. I drive a 435 CAT in a Freightliner and an N/A car would be at the end of the track before I could spool up to boost. Cheers...:::Glenn
  7. Thank you gentlemen: I am going to have to replace mine as the slop is getting to be too much. I'm going to try one of these racks out in the new year. Cheers…:::Glenn
  8. I have bought from Showcars in the past. This is a one man operation. The guy runs everything out of his dilapidated barn. He has been around since the early eighties. He lives twenty minutes away from my place so when I need something I run up and see him and if it is in stock I get it. If not, I walk. He has sure ticked off a lot of people in the past twenty-some years. You can find him at the local show car events. I think the thing that bothers me the most is that the land he is sitting on will be worth a lot in a few years, as urban sprawl is on his doorstep. It sucks when the “bastards†win. Cheers…:::Glenn
  9. Hey Kyle: Could I trouble you for the measurement from ball to ball on that rack. The stock one should be close to 25 ¼â€. The Ford comes out to 23â€, just a bit too small and the Miata is 27â€â€¦ a bit too wide. The one you found here looks about as close as we’ve seen around here to stock, not to mention the mounts look perfect. The STI is a new one to me. What year Subaru are we talking about? Thanks: …Glenn
  10. This is the newer TVR Speed 12 and it's 960+hp V12 The racing vesion runs restrictor plates at 600hp English automotive evolution. Cheers... :::Glenn

    Hemi Monteverdi

I had forgotten all about the AMX Kevin. It was indeed a beautiful car. I thought it had round tail lights?? Or am I thinking of the prototype mid engine Mustang of around the same period? Cheers... :::Glenn
  13. Trichloroethylene is a carcinogenic. It’s not healthy to breath or absorb through osmosis. I haul this stuff in tankers. Gloves and respirators are standard equipment. After you can kiss your gloves goodbye. They melt. Keep it off the rubber parts. Cheers... :::Glenn

    end of a z

Oh Matt: You should never go to the cemetery...it just hurts too much… My condolences…:::Glenn
  15. At the time I put in my Corvette rear I was seriously considering a Ford 9â€. I asked a friend who was building a circle track car and he advised me, that the difference between the two in racing setups was the way the cars handle the corner. In circle track the preferred way is to drift through it. In GTP or sports car racing although drifting is present, it is not the best way around varying radius corners. Drag racing has proven the requirement of a solid rear axle. There are plenty of books on the subject. It just depends on the application you are going to apply the car to. In the early nineties Hot Rod put a ford 9†in a Z. They were happy with it. Cheers…:::Glenn

    Hemi Monteverdi

Yes …but a Chev mini van with a Hemi…with the dog house on would still sound nice. I didn't intend that the implication would be that you drive with the cover removed. Sorry. Cheers...
  17. I suddenly have this feeling like I want to go out and ding something…thanks gents

    Hemi Monteverdi

The car is a Monteverdi Hai. It came out of Switzerland in the early seventies. The design is by Peter Monteverdi, another one of those guys like Lamborghini who after getting into ‘words†with Ferrari decided to build his own supper car. He needed an engine an asked Chrysler for their 426 Hemi. Imagine 450BHP in a 2750lb car. This one is now in California. I got to thinking after reading some of the odd posts this that a mid engine Z would probably look like this inside. Say with an early Elderado or Riviera front wheel drive……Naw never mind, bad idea. Cheers…:::Glenn
  20. This is an old car but can you imagine the sound?

    t-56 to a 280z block?

If you think at T56 weighs more, then what does a T56 weigh? I scaled mine to find how much weight I was saving by switching from an A833 iron dodge 4sp. They weigh the same. Cheers...: Glenn
