    auto taser

Thank you z-Rex, I hadn’t thought of the smell of the corpse. It should be perhaps advisable to hang some those Christmas trees around the car to remove any offending stench. The season is almost upon us you know and one must keep up appearances. Cheers…:::Glenn
  2. Up here the oil companies put up to 10% alcohol in the gas in winter to eliminate the condensation in the gas. It boils at a much lower temp causing problems in the summer. Cheers...:::Glenn

    auto taser

I have decided I would like to install this autotazer in my Z. First I believe it will need extensive testing on my ex-wife’s lawyer. This devise has always amazed me. Picture this… your on a date. You are returning to your car after an impressionable dinner. Now comes the task of removing the car thief’s body from the drivers seat. Does correct dating etiquette require one to open the door for his date or remove the body first? http://freespace.virgin.net/autotaser.uk/ Cheers…:::Glenn
  4. This is a Dayton 18X8. They go up to 20" Try browsing through Dayton’s catalogue. The prices are not all that bad. http://www.heartbeat-detector-avian.com/Dayton_Wire/cheap.shtml Cheers…:::Glenn

  6. I left my Z at the end of the driveway one night because I was just too tired to switch all the cars around and put it in the garage. One of the neighbours boarders had a disagreement with his landlord a sprayed furniture stripper on his landlord’s new minivan. Front to back and top to bottom. The bastard had some left and sprayed my fender and hood. A one inch thick stripe about two feet long. You could tell the can had just gone empty. A year later the creep came back and sprayed the Minivan again! I had learned my lesson and had parked the car in the garage ever since. The scar is still on there. Paint and body work takes so much time I have just not been able to get at it for over five years. I have a good idea who did this. No proof. I am not an overly vindictive person so I let it go. What I learned was…If you have a ride you value, you need to watch where you leave it unattended. Put it in a garage when at home, if you have one, or as much as my lady hates it, we walk from the far side of the parking lot where it sits next to a Vette or something under a big light. I will never take my car downtown and leave it unattended. We put a lot of work into these Zs and we are responsible for protecting that work from the wondering morons of the world. I have to get off of my soap box now, I'm just too upset… Cheers…:::Glenn
  7. I just love looking at fresh paint...very nice car Chase. I can't wait to see it finished. Cheers...:::Glenn
  8. Hey John: I agree with jmortensen. The wires you refer too are probably Boranni (sp) wire wheels. They have a magnesium hub an rim. Very light but they usually look like crap a day after you polish them. Expect to pay large for them. Jag knock offs have problems as well. On the rear wheels, the splines wear and they begin to click every time you accelerate and brake. This motion causes the spinner to back off with predictable results. Then there is the matter of tuning these wheels after they have been torqued too many times by a high horse power motor and start to warble. The wire wheels on my Z weigh 15 lbs more (each) than my Cheviot 5 spokes. Like you, I had to have ‘em but at a cost of handling and performance. Cheers…:::Glenn
  9. It would have to have gobs of torque just to haul that iron block and the heads around. Cheers ...:::Glenn
  10. ya...I put mine down for the winnter too...sigh time to get to work on it...
  11. I would like to raise a glass to Z-TARD (Mike), a Hybidz’er, and to all the troops, US and Canadian, who are over seas right now. Cheers!
  12. Tim: Jeep TJ uses an inner boot that fits flat. It might be too wide, depending on the size of the hole. Cheers!
  13. Rob Johnson was the guy I talked to. Skinny, needs a hair-cut and a bath.
  14. I stumbled on the sound track about a year ago. Then I found out it was a video. Apparently the whole thing has been remastered and turned out quite well. But you can only expect so much from the date and the fact that it was shot at dawn. I enjoyed the trailer for Getaway in Stockholm. There was one more that was out, were a guy let his F40 go. He ended up getting busted when he sold the videos on line. But I cant seem to find it. I just thought Rendezvous was something a little different to share. Cheers…:::Glenn
  15. Rendezvous - Claude Lelouch - 1977 French Director, Claude Lelouch, straped a camera to the front of his V-12 Ferrari 275GTB and runs rampant through the streets of Paris. He uses sidewalks for streets, is color-blind to red lights and blurs by pedestrians. The sound of the exhaust booming off the buildings, the view as he eclipses 100 mph on city streets, this is a mix of sound and sight that should not be missed. Rendez-vous is an adrenaline rush of a ride that just plain blows you away. No Hollywood, no stunts, no one else, just you and the Ferrari. Trust me, you have never seen anything like this before, and you may never again. http://www.gremlinnet.com/download/rendezvous.mpg The file is quite large Or download off Kazaa Cheers...:::Glenn
  16. I found an old table saw with a carborundum disk works well. When it wears down small they get put in my grinder. You will need something to debur the pipes after you cut them... rat tail file or die grinder. This is a most satisfying project and takes more thought than time. Cheers…:::Glenn

  18. I had always thought that the M1 flame heater would be an excellent choice for a rear defogger. However upon testing the unit on my ex-wife’s lawyer’s BMW I found the unit is just a little too fuel hungry. Cheers! Glenn

Mat: This cracks me up. I think that the guys building hybrid Z cars are a cut above the average builder. They know when they have enough power. I was once told there is a fine line between genius and insanity. These guys down under are way over the other side of that line. Thanks Mat…there will always be a faster car…lol Cheers!

Now a real swapper would say "How could I put one of them spitfire engines in my car" Rolls Royce Meteor, 27-liter V12ohv twin cam with two 4bbl Holleys 1550 ft @ 1880 rpm The car is a Bentley from the same era. Cheers...:::Glenn
  22. Hi Daw: I did a trial fit by placing a 2X4 on the cross member and dropping the engine on it to establish pan clearance. The transmission was supported at the rear. Extra clearance would be needed on the steering side for exhaust and things, the engine was shoved to the passenger side as far a possible. The distributor cap was removed for the trial fit. It is necessary to use the Mopar mounts with the Datsun insulators. Tabs are welded to the passenger side mounts and a spacer of square tube stock or angle iron will do, is used to take up the space on the drivers side. This is very similar to the spacer the Chev guys use. The mounts line up very well. Pan clearance is good with the center sump pan The hood latch has to be notched to fit the distributor cap but does not interfere with its function at all.. The rear transmission mount has to be fabricated and mounted to the tunnel. I saw an excellent one on this sight but am unable to find it again. No other modifications were needed for the tunnel. I used the Z master and slave to drive the clutch with an small aluminum plate attached to the side of the bell housing. The A-Body bell housing has a lower clutch pivot point and clears the floor nicely. Try and get the long tail transmission (E-body) so the shifter comes out in the right spot.. (Does the V10 have the same bolt pattern as the LA motor? Would a T56 fit?) I made my own Tri-Y headers but block hugger headers should fill the task nicely. The rest is just the same as everyone else using a V8. With the 340, dual AFB 4bbl, mild cam, a 4spd and 308 ‘Vette differential I achieved a speed of 150 mph.I only did it once as I found the car unstable. I still had more squeeze in the peddle. I do not have a ¼ mile time. Cheers…:::Glenn
  23. I have done this swap twice. Once with a 318 auto and then with a 340 dual quad four speed. However anytime I post anything on this swap it gets deleted. Cheers! Glenn
  24. I haven’t seen a part twist like that. Usually the U-joint will fail first. I have to wonder if that part was properly heat treated. It should break before it twists. Cheers…:::Glenn
  25. Jon’s right. The spokes added 60lbs to my ride. Unsprung rotating weight… the worst kind. But if you have to have them… I was lucky and found three Cragar Tru-spokes at a used wheel place for cheap. The forth cost me $250 CDN. The spinners (knock offs) came from the same company. Cheers…:::Glenn
