    S2k seats

You could always just dye them…
  2. Yeah I was careful about where and who I bought them from. I found a legitimate deal and made sure I had a signed declaration from the woman before I took possession. The ironic thing is her S2000 was stolen two weeks after I bought the seats. I'm willing to take the risk for the comfort.
  3. Thanks for the help Bob. Just one more thing if you don't mind, does the mechanism have a plunge release for reverse on the T5, that is do you have to push down and then pull back to put the transmission into reverse? Dave
  4. Thanks for the reply. It was done by Deans Transmission on 4th Ave. in downtown Seattle. The fellow is used to working on the mustang version and we had to send it back to him once since he shipped it to us with a ford input shaft instead of a Nissan one - the mistake could have been done then. Would it still be drivable? -D I just added a cut away for reference...
  5. I took the car out for its first test drive last night; it has a newly rebuilt T5. All of the gears on the T5 make a normal sound except the 3rd gear which wines like a typical reverse gear on most stick shifts. Does anyone know what would cause this, and is it something I should be worried about, that is will this sort of noise go away given time? The gear seems to work normally - I think, for I am new to the T5. Thanks Dave

  9. Anybody out there have an old pair of straps that hold the gas tank in a 240z plus J-Hooks? Thanks Dave
  10. Thanks Guys! After reading all your comments and after some pondering I think I'm going to go with the S2000 seats. I like the fact that you don't necessarily have to do any fabrication on the tunnel, which is a concern and a costly one at that. I will still get it professionally done but just the bracket and tell them to fit it keeping the clearance. One fellow I know who does fabrication told me that you can replace the S2000 factory sliders with Recaro sliders in order to further lower the seats. He indicates that the sliders in the below thread are Recaros. Again much thanks! Dave http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=431345
  11. Hey Jerry; I would like to get a set if possible? Thanks Dave
  12. Are there any more straps available or being made (it has been almost a year), I'm interested in some if they are. Any more on the J-Clips? Thanks, Dave.
  13. smoorenc, how much of the product did you end up using? -D
  14. What do you think? I'm in a quandary and am unsure which seats to use in my 1972 240z. I have a set of old original 240z seats and I also have a set of Honda S2000 seats in good condition. The S2000 seats cost me $500 and it may take up to $1000 to install given fabrication - they are comfortable and they look good. I can recondition the 240z seats myself using MSAs Upholstery Kit for $224 and they would keep at least that part of the car classic, no fabrication costs, no issues with seat sliding restrictions (I'm 6'4", have long legs and I fit well with the originals) - the only thing I wonder about 240s is comfort on long trips for I will be driving the car allot. Can anyone give me any advice on the matter? Yeah I know, can't make a decision, what can I do... I would be interested in what people have to say though, it would help allot. Thanks in advance. Dave
  15. This is good info - I'm 6'4" tall with long legs (My jeans are 36") and I fit in the car well with the original seats. I have the S2000 seats and know there will be some fabrication work on the tunnel but am concerned that it may not be worth it. If it's not then I should sell the Honda seats and then get the originals reconditioned (however much that will cost...) How much of a difference was there between the s2000 seats and the 240z originals when you adjust them back?
