  1. This place works great for all the honda guys. http://www.streetstyler.com/RacingSeats.htm Friends told me about them and the guy is very good about answering your email questions. I was told they are pretty much knock off recaro's wrapped in a seat cover with badge. (If that fits your needs go ahead, a debated topic). I believe the dimensions will work as they are all the same as stated above. I am tempted to buy the type r's with red stich but don't know cause if I find a craigslist pair that would be better.
  2. Thanks for the offer but I got in contact with someone on craigslist that I can pick up today.
  3. I need to get the l24 running so I can drive her around to the body shop and what not instead of renting a trailor each time and wasting money. If anyone has one laying around or something please let me know cause I don't want to spend $$ bucks on a new one and keep blowing money on U-haul. FYI this is a father/son project if that wins any brownie points lol.

    Corbeau A4

Well the other day my buddy sent me a message to check out a store that had good prices. It was kind of a random text from him cause he must have been looking for me but here's the link.I do not care if they are fakes but the prices seem unreal. I am tempted to give them a try. http://www.streetstyler.com/RacingSeats.htm
  5. If your talking about the rails under the floorboards then yea I actually just got mine today from msa. It was 300 after shipping and got them in 3 days. I just do not have the tools to make precision cuts like that and would definately have floorboards that I know will hold up lol. Plus I save about a week or two of hard work making them while I worked on other areas.
  6. I have been trying to get my stock 240z motor to run but no fuel wants to get through the lines. It is a mechanicle one by the way. I blow through the lines and the fuel tank bubbles, but no gas is even in the settlement filter before the pump. I took it apart today and the spring and arm seem to work together but that was all I could tell needed to be checked. How do I know if the pump is my problem or if not what would it possibly be.
  7. Yea I will most likely keep it L series though just not a stock setup, sorry if it sounded like I was offending your other two setups phleb but your motor sounds like a beast on youtube. Props. Anyways the goal is 200hp and anything above that is better. I know 200hp is a pretty challenging goal for a n/a L series but it is not impossible and with a couple months of hardwork and scavenging for the right parts I think I can get there. My car is in the members forum by the way but it is undergoing interior restoration at this point mainly right now.
  8. Ok dang, lol got a little excited for a little bit. Being upside down must have messed me up a little. Thanks though that helps out a lot. So all in all I have an e-88 head matched to a p30 block with an unknown 5 speed tranny most likely a 280z's though. Nothing special I guess, but theres a reason I am always looking in the chevy v8 forum:flamedevi Though I do have a 5speed tranny already so maybe the l28 route would not be such a bad idea. Goal is to be able to run high 13's in 1/4 mile so I am pretty sure I could get a n/a l28 to that point with a little dough.
  9. I recently just bought a 72' 240z off a guy who did not really kow much about the engine or what tranny was even it it. My head is an E-88 as that is easy to tell. Though when I search for my block number all i get is the number to the right of the engine mount on the other side that says b03 (atleast thats what I saw upside down using a mirror lol). The block is blue and has an aftermarket 280 starter also. Along with a 5 speed tranny. The guy use to race 240's and it is really making me wonder if maybe something a lil extra is in there. Some one help me out here lol.
  10. I am trying to get my stock l24 running that came with my shell and it wants to start but I seem to get smoke off my batter terminals. I have just a couple wires that I have not found their place to go based on the stickys I have been reading and looking at. One is a bigger black wire that has a yellow tip and is just flopping around. If someone could post a picture of the left side of the engine were maybe you know what wire it is I am talking about that would be great. Anyways progress is still going on and just need some fresh fuel in there to see if she fully cranks over.

Hmmm was kind of wondering why those corbeaus were cheap lol. I did seem to find these and was pretty interested. Seem to hold up pretty well and look pretty good for the price. Just wonder if the store is any good. http://www.racinx.com/RACINX/accessories/seatspads/rxseats.htm

The thing is the a4's would work for me but not my pops. I am almost 5' 10'' 160 and my dad is about 6'1'' 240. Is there anything that would work for such a big size difference. Or should I go for just a drivers seat or what. LOL wish the pops had no beer gut hahahahaha.

    Corbeau A4

I am looking at possibly buying a pair of corbeau A4's because I like the style and heard they will fit in the 240z. Now I have been looking around and heard JC Whitney generally has some pretty good deals and they happened to be there. Now the problem is, the description is the price for 2 but at the bottom it is the price for each. Can someone help me out or refer me to another place with good prices and past buyers. Or maybe another seat in my price range you reccomend. http://www.jcwhitney.com/A4-PERFORMANCE-RECLINING-RACING-SEATS/GP_2019551_N_111+10201+600003386_10101.jcw
  15. Got the project in my garage about a week ago after searching forums for about a year and finally finding a 240z with the criteria that I was looking for. It obviously has floorpan rust and the usual rust area problems. Interior is pretty rough and is going to be tackled first once I get the floorpans welded and section of frame thanks to a window seal leak. Along with a replacement panel for the rear hatch. Was able to retrieve a lot of needed parts off a parts car he had so that helped out a ton. Anyways, here are a few pictures of it and the interior gutted. Hope to have a lot of fun with this sweet little ride.
  16. Thanks a lot. Researching on this forum for a long time, learning a lot, and seeing what quality work can get you really attracted me to these cars. Ever since I was little, I loved muscle cars and when I grew up I started to get into the import scene ( Thanks to all my buddies driving little fwd civics, integras, and even a crx). Thus, these JTR builds and actually a local v8 rx-7 really got me into looking at what I can do for my first car. The fact that I can rebuild a 35+ yr old car and make loads of power for less than a brand new hyundai or kia is pretty dang awesome. Not to mention the fact that a 240z is very unique and a headturner at the least. Anyways, enough about that. This project is actually going to be turned into my senior project so expect constant updates and pictures for all you readers like me.
  17. Bought the car today and will get it next week. Body wise it needs new floorboards on both sides and a replacement on the rear hatch place that always rust out. He also has a parts car that I can grab anything for free besides engine and trans. Edit: Might be purchasing it and put in storage while I am doing project. Also learned the 240z might have a 5 speed in there he was told but he never got to work on the project.
  18. Lol I don't believe the question is, is it best but should be is it possible. I think somewhat is on the hunt for a little vrroooommm psst.lol. Anyways, I believe the BOV that everyone uses has a larger opening than the stock "Pop off valve". Not 100% sure though.
  19. Hopefully I will be taking a look on wednesday. Once I finally end up finding the right 240 for me I will be on the lookout for a Borg Warner T-5 and Chevy 350 if ya catch my drift. All this anticipation for the last 9 months searching forums and for a car is really getting to me. lol. Hope to be on here in the members project forum soon:mparty:
  20. I have the chance to go take a look and possibly buy this 240z. He says it was a runner... and 90+% complete. It is only $250 and I see the potential. Let me know what you think and what you would do if it was you. Obviously there is rust spots but much appears to be surface besides the floor pans and a couple other spots as far as I can tell. Interior is rough but goods and bads.
  21. Alright nice to know...I figured that something might have been out there cause of the variable speed settings on many of them and the similarity in design. I guess not, but hey maybe a future idea:flamedevi
  22. I have been aquiring tools for my upcoming first car/ 240z project with my pops and got to thinking. I remember once seeing an angel grinder with a buffer attachment and can't seem to find it. The buffer is not for a car, but to rub in this compound to make black rubber not look so faded on his boat. If anyone knows what I am talking about or has one please let me know the brand. -Thanks
  23. Lol I was kidding on the beating him part. The car is actually really sick and its like a 66 so its got the ol school body. He came second in regionals I recently heard for his class on legal street tires I believe and just qualified for the show PINKS ALL OUT when they come out in August:flamedevi Will for sure make it to the tracks to watch that. I definately am getting the starter disabler and it actually comes in a lot of alarm system kits out there nowadays.
  24. Definately would be pretty cool... Though I would not want to carry around a wheel so I would just stash it under a seat or something. I do plan on buying one of those wheel locks where they disable movement of the wheel. (Would atleast make it harder to steal the car) Crime is getting worse in my neighbor hood though. Neighbors car was diagnol in the middle of the road today from last night lol. Go to the second page and second paragraph to see what i mean: ( Also this was the Feb news letter) http://www.pioneer-trails.org/newsletterfiles/TT.Feb.09.pdf
  25. I'm Back!!!! Getting back to this thread to keep everyone updated. I have been searching the posts and learning a large amount about these cars over the last year. Due to some financial problems, the project is yet to start but getting very close. Once the family ski boat sells on craigslist the project will become a reality. Not to mention free up a large garage that makes plenty of room as it currently holds a 22 foot bow rider. Anyways, pops and I have been searching/talking/gathering info, and agreed on a Chevy 350 swap using the JTR kit and Manual:flamedevi Can't tell you how much the anticipation has been literally killing me. Hoping to end up with about 250-300hp when its all said and done. Family friend (Also helping hand for the project) already challenged me in his low 9 second street nova at the local strip...Wonder who would win:icon56:.
