hey heathhh, just like what the others here had already told me.. Look at your fuses, fusable links and connections.. look CAREFULLY.. like me, i looked for connections and found that they were all secure, even tested on different headlight bulbs.. then look at your fuses.. i realize most of our problems that we hardly overlook would be fuses. let me know if you need help and ill try to help you out.

hey leftoverz, i own an 81 n/a. I have finally figured out the problem!!! as i was over looking the fuses again. I looked at the one for the right head light.. I said to myself " why wont you work!?" and i remembered having spare fuses, so i just switched it for the hell of it and BAM. .. my headlights work!! but the weird thing was.. it was my second time looking at the fuses and that particular fuse did not burn out or anything.. weird.. it was the same 10a fuse.. well.. problem is fixed.. thanks for the help guys!

As we speak the heavy duty harness from blackdragonauto is already on its way to my house. I should get it by tommorrow or this up coming monday. Any advice on the harness installation or is it just plug and play? By fusible links do you guys mean those big plugs that looks like relays that are in the black boxed housings in the engine bay?

Hey guys, I have recently replaced my old halogen bulbs with new H4 xenon bulbs. It was probably the best thing I had put on my car being an inexpensive upgrade. With the new lights I can totally see the road more. Just until the other day on my way back home from work, I noticed that the lights were kinda off as it shined on the road, so I pulled over and saw that the right side [passenger side] was very dim. I checked the connections and it seemed fine. I also hooked up the old bulb to it and it was still dim. I disconnected the left side light[driver side] [nothing wrong with it just wanted to see what would happen] and then the right one would go out aswell, so it was in a series connection ? Yeah, so aren't headlights supposed to be connected in parallel? anyways.. I really need to get this fixed, I would appreciate any advice, anything. I have searched for answer and have found nothing.

Hey guys sorry I took so long to come back on. I've been super busy especially since tomorrow is my midterm. Well yeah I got the rims[whole set] for 61 bucks. It has tires, but only 2 looks ridable. These came from the black on gold zx so the rims are chrome with gold-ish tint. It looks really good. The outside looks awesome, but the inside is still a little dirty. But its nothing I cant polish off. Thanks guys! If anyone wants pics let me know!

Hey guys I have a question that I cannot find the answer to. I have tried searching here and even on other search engines and yet no dice. I need to know how much a set of 280zx factory 6 spoke rims would generally cost. Its almost perfect, no curb rash or discoloring, just dirty but its nothing a quick spray can't fix. I was wondering because I can easily get my hands on a set right now for about 60 bucks.. I need your opinions guys. Is it worth it? Can i sell it for more?

I think its just datsun in general.. every thing grabs my attention.. b210's, trucks, but mostly z's.. like today bought a dash cap $98$ and a pair of 1 inch lug adapter/spacers $86.. went to the junk yard and got some interior parts $40.. i told myself not to buy any more unnecessary things..

I love my s130, especially how the hood slants down towards the front.. but I'd have to admit, the s30s are awesome.. Im still debating about getting another s130 turbo or a s30..
-
by ping you don't mean backfire right?? maybe something is in your exhaust. is it stock?
-
so practically what you did was plug the hose?
-
there should be a plug on top of tranny no?.. the part about checking level with finger on the side is definetly correct though. im not too sure but i am 99% positive you must pump fluid in, but i think that only applies if the tranny is already bolted on.

my leak came from the hose to the little coupler thingy right before the hose to the firewall.[left side of the block when looking from front] next to the auxil. fan. I believe its the heater hose.. try looking at yours. These old hoses get really hard and starts to crack . tends to leak near the edges where the clamp holds it in place.
-
I too have triouble with my heater.. weird thing was I replaced the heater control with a new one and it worked fine, until now it stopped working aswell.. did work but only when it feels like it..so yeah im going to check for hoses tommororrow.

Fresno CA bro, pick and pull on jensen and golden state right off of highway 99. body looks good to me, interior might need work tho. I also found a 280zx turbo but I was too late to have came up on it. -
Nissan's 1998 240z restoration program
xShodaimex replied to xShodaimex's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z
gee, lots of info there, thanks austin240z, blue 72,and amorfin.. i didnt know about the private dealer restorations, i shall look more into that when i have free time.[just something to read] -
hey guys quick question.. The 1998 program where nissan bought and professionally restored the z's was sold off at the dealers. How many was there exactly? Also WHO HERE on Hybridz has one of those restored Z's.? I was wondering because I happened to come across a nice looking orange z [240 or 260] in the junk yard today. As I looked inside the engine bay, I found this little metal sticker thing saying [REMANUFACTURED] on the block with a few numbers.. I was suprised by this, because I have never seen this before. Im guessing it was part of the 1998 program?
-
wow your z sure took some damage.. glad that your son and you are ok. better for a car to be damaged than family right?
-
sometimes its just as easy as that!! lol. doesnt hurt to clean around the engine once in a while..come to think about it, i think ill do that tommorrow morning.
-
interesting.. im somewhat confused about what you said, but ill take a look and see tommorrow morning .maybe if i look, it will make more sense.
-
after about an hour of tearing up the dash and stuff, i finally heard the fan come on for the first time!!! lol.. Last night here in fresno, it was super cold and this morning everything was frosted over.. so i decided that maybe i should fix my heater.. anyways, i find that my heater DOES work, only when i directly gave it power.. other than that, i connected a test light to one of the wires and found that when i turn on the fan switch, the test light lights up but as you go towards HIGH, it dims down til there isnt any light left.. well.. yup, thought i might share alittle with you guys.. not too sure what it is but i think it has to do with the switch, so I plan on visiting some junk yards for it. the hoses doesnt seem to have any cracks or anything aswell. let me know what you guys think.. I can really use some advice.
-
hey guys thanks for the advice.. so far, i only had 30 mins to check it out and so far not much has happened. I noticed that the leak is a very slow leak. i also noticed that the coolant in my radiator slowly goes down. Im hoping to have more time tommorrow after school to check it out, but wont actually get to have a good look until thursday because of work. I actually dont have ac or heater so would i even have a leak from the heater hose? btw stopped by my local harbor freight store and pressure tester was 70 bucks i think.. wow.
-
Right when i thought my problems were over, another problem arises. Once again coolant is leaking from the engine. I have not had time to check out where the leak is coming from but it seems to be leaking from somewhere near the back of the block.. not sure what it is but I will let you guys know of my progress tommorrow..last time it was my water pump gasket, once that was sealed tight, problem was over. if you guys have any ideas of where to look or what to looks for please tell. thanks:burnout:
