I had to drill the hole and then tap it, I would be worried about it coming loose if I did not tap the hole, I see that you guys like my custom mini swaybar, lololol but on a serious note I have a new swaybar thats a tad larger then the orignal 240z rear swaybar I just got to be careful when installing it because I have the 280zx turbo halfshafts in the rear.

I never thought that it would be so hard to track down some circlips for my 280zx cv shafts, I did finally get them from nissan $2.95, but trying to install the cv's shafts with the circlips on it is a pain in the butt, if anyone has a easier method of installing these shafts in the diff, please just send a post.

maxima bracket and caliper fit
ozzinc replied to ozzinc's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
problem solved, I just used a thick washer to center the rotor in between the caliper and everything is fine. -
I have the 85 to 88 maxima caliper and the maxima bracket no.# 44155-04S10 and 81 to 82 280zx rotor, but it seems like a need a spacer to go in between the caliper and the caliper bracket so the rotor is centered in the caliper, im wondering if i have the wrong combination. 72 240z

im about to install my rear hub axle on my 240z and the service manual states that I should torq the hub nut to 180lb, is this when you using a new nut which I have, it seems like a lot of torq and I dont want to end up stripping the thread on the axle.
-
im about to reinstall my rear stub axle after replacing the rear drum with disc brakes, the service manual said to torq the hub nut at 180lb, but it would seem to me that it would not take that much torqing to lock that nut on plus I know that it has to be crimped, do i really have to torq it up to 180lb for a tight fit.

thanks for the info, and I actually have 2 turbo exhausts manifold, I will use one as a test prototype and I will relocate the turbo.

Hello guys, its been a while since ive placed a thread, but im about to install a turbonetics t4 t66 turbo, but I am concerned about the room in the engine bay do to the fact that I will be using the l28 engine instead of a rb26dett, I know that the t3t4 fit with no problems, but with this big t66 and its t4 turbine I may have to either have my muffler guy do a custom header or just go with a t3 t4 setup, I also purchased one of those t3 t4 adapter flange that fit perfectly, but when this engine is installed the turbo may be very close to the steering rod that connects to the steering rack. as for the engine it has been rebuilt from top to bottom, rods, ross forged racing pistons, manley stainless steel valves larger then stock, schneider racing valve springs, f54 block p90 head, crower custom cam grinded to my own specs, haltech stand alone ecu and a couple of other goodies, any info on the fit of this t66 turbo woud greatly be appreciated.

Racing G Nose Or Msa Type 3 Spoiler
ozzinc replied to ozzinc's topic in Windtunnel Test Results and Analysis
I would like to thank everyone who contributed there input on this particular issue concerning the advantage and disadvantages of having a g nose, I will be posting some photos by weeks end of my g nose with the airdam, and another g nose that I have on hand. there is a business in my town that actually deals with making plastics and they can make any kind of design, its a large plexiglass corp and they actually due small custom orders, I will find out some info about them making headlamp cover for the g nose. -

if the g nose had the headlight scoops, would they then have a better frontal down force then the msa type 3 spoiler. -

OMG!! Steering locked up at 45mph!!!
ozzinc replied to cygnusx1's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
thank god you or anyone else wasnt injured or killed, its something that will have you pretty much paranoid about driving the car, not until you figure out what happened, you should also find out if you can remember, was there anything inthe road, did you here any type of noise before this happened, something could have jammed somewhere in either the front suspension of the car or the caliper could have seized which i doubt in this situation, when there is unseen debris in the road and if you donot have the lower metal cover that shields some of the suspension and engine, something could have gotten tangled in the suspension and could have fallen out when you came to a stop. -
I have 2 sets of the datsun g nose, one is a earlier type with the big air dam and the other type you can actually see on this site at the members list, the one that i have on the car now is has the fancy air dam and looks like it should be functional, but after seeing the test results of the wind tunnel testing of a variety of spoilers, it looks like the msa type 3 had the best results for front end lift, but there is something thats got me baffled, The g nose that was used in the wind tunnel test is not the same as my G nose spoiler, my spoiler has a large air dam and the one used in the wind tunnel test does not have this large air dam, im wondering if the large air dam that I have would have been used, would it have generated more downforce.

I have a 83 turbo wiring harness, and the 3 connector plugs go to the ecu, then there is the small din 6 pin config plug that goes to the distributor that has the built in crank trigger diode, if you have the distributor from the 280zxt then you will see where that small din plug connects to the distributor. and if you have the 83 ecu you will see where those 3 plugs connect right up to the ecu, I hope this info help.

Man your luck was like rodney dangerfield, you had got know respect from your z car. but its good that you made it home, you could actually do a book sort of like obama, but in this case you could call it memoirs from my zcar.

I just purchased a sparco steering wheel off of ebay, but now I need the hub adapter, they only had adapters for the nissan sentra 95 to recent and for the 240sx 89 to 94, can the hub adapter for a 240sx fit into my 240z.
