  1. i need all the carb linkage(other than the one that goes between the carbs) for 70-71 roundtop su's...i dont know what intake it is because its been polished but it doesnt have the coolant holes....pictures and price shipped to 37064 please i need this as soon as possible please i also posted this in the wanted section but ive only had 11 views and i need this as soon as possible....
  2. depending on what carbs you have? are they roundtop or flattop su's or an aftermarket brand?
  3. it should be in a hayne's manual but if its roundtop su's you should be able to take the four screws that hold on the top of the bowl it shouldnt take more than 10 min to get it off...and you dont have to take the carb off
  4. woo hoo!!!! 1.99 in franklin tn now....roughly 2.20 for premium 91......has anyone noticed that there car has ran very slightly worse after filling up at the 10% corn fuel...cause i was i nashville the other day and found a run down gas station i could never find again for the life of me but they had pure gas with no ethanol....so i filled up and my car ran better than it ever has but as soon as i filled up with the 90/10 mix it ran like it was before...has anyone experianced that?
  5. my car has no catalytic converters and ive deleted every piece of emissions equiment that was on it and i passed marta with flying colors.....if you put 2 bottle of rubbing alcohol in with about a 1/4 of a tank you'll pass everytime...the emissions tests for gas or co....and i actually found that my car idled a bit higher and was much smoother....oh and fyi thats an old mechanic trick if you take your car to some shady places to get the emissions fix sometimes they just throw some alcohol in it and you'll pass and wont know the difference
  6. ok so i purchased a electronic distributor (the one with the e12-80 module) for my 240z and ive seen tons of write ups on how to do it but they arent very detailed and show no pictures....i was also wondering what happens to the wire that was connected to the old distributors condinsor....and i got one of the little tube things that mount on to the coils bracket(sorry i dont know what its called) is it nessasary to use?.... ive been reading my manual but i think it would be best to ask...because nothing ive seen has gone into detail nor have pictures on how to do it....oh and its a 72 240z that had a single point electronic distributor...thanks

  12. if they are flattops i would like to have them but dished pistons come out of turbo motors...i have a set of dished pistons and rods....if they actually are flattops let me know
  13. im still looking would prefer standard size stock p79 flattop pistons...unless you have a oversized set for cheap

  15. first this is for my 1989 300e mercedes 3.0 liter straight 6 auto,....sorry i didnt know where to put it but i am very very very tired of having this problem and thought someone on here would know.... the car used to chug whenever i sat at idol for an extended period of time..it would only do it under long periods of idol not while under load.it would continue to chug until i held it to full throttle to about 55mph...now it wont stop and is constintly chugging and i cannot stand it and cant find anyone who can give me a good anwser...please help its going to drive me nuts
  16. yes after you install the controller it mesures the boost....for every click that you turn it is 1 lbs. if you have it closed you wont get any boost at all...close it all the way then raise it to 6 lbs(with the boost controller) then drive the car and see if that does anything
  17. are u sure you have it facing the right direction....it should have and arrow pointing toward flow on it...if you dont have it the right way than it wont let any air pass through it b/c it has an air restrictor in it...air can only go 1 way
  18. so i got 90% of a turbo motor in pieces this past weekend...all i really like in putting it together is: distributor, dist. gear, flywheel, oil pan, ignition box...i can get a distributor the gear and the box out of a 76 or 77 280z out of the junk yard but cant find out if it will work or not....i have the oil pan and flywheel out of my 240z but dont know if its a smart choice on using them (other than tapping the oil pan for the return)
  19. the starter is bad....correct me if im wrong but he hit the starter cause the magnet inside it doesnt turn right or is getting binded...
  20. im looking for some flattop l28 pistons in good condition....id figure id post here cause more ppl are looking in this section than in the wtb section thanks
  21. it spit and sputtered all the way back and i had to stop 5 times cause the fuel pump couldnt keep up with the carbs...and it had junky gas in it but that was the only good time ive really had with it...now its a paper weight with a lot more little problems that have added up since
  22. the reason i want to do a swap is because the timing chain is stretched to and the adjuster wont tighten anymore....the timing is off....it needs a whole gasket kit...it needs a considerable amount of head components, b/c half of them arent in specs...ect. ect. pretty much needs a rebuild and i want a 5 spd tranny so i figured i just go ahead and do a full swap... does anyone know if u can use a n/a dizzy and dizzy shaft on a l28et...and what year is the best to use? and can u use a n/a flywheel on a l28et?
  23. how hard and how much work would it be to get my l24 to 12:1 comp? is it doable and reliable....oh and it has the e31 head!suggestions?
  24. could my goal of hp be met with a n/a l28 no internal mods? what is the stock hp on a l28?and what is stock compression?
