Yep, I had some trouble with the search function yesterday. I seem to have the hang of it now, you can now search for much narrower thread topics (meaning I do not need to very general and weed through as many threads). Thanks!

How much time do you spend on hybridZ daily?
mikedc528 replied to tightywhitey185's topic in Non Tech Board
I have a triple screen setup in my cube at work so I usually have multiple spreadsheets going on and have one dedicated screen for Hybridz at all times. So from 8 to 6, that's about 9 hours and then when I go home I spend another 1 to 2 hours searching. I'm trying to read every thread posted in its full entirety (if you haven't noticed). I make myself sick -
Thank you!! I said something similar on another unnamed Nissan forum and was shot down with angry oil consuming engine victims. Folks need to realize that even their almighty SR20 had its issues. It takes time to develop a strong aftermarket response, and now that the Frontier has been out for a few years it is making this engine look ever more desirable.

Just the fact that is so light and offers such a large displacement is what makes me like the QR25. Yes there are other big cube 4s out there, (3RZ, KA24, etc.) but i don't think any are as light. Besides these are plentiful, came in almost every Nissan auto in the 21st century. I think the aftermarket will only continue to grow and a few years from now this will be the next SR20.

I used the Ozdat Engine Designer to create an engine with a wicked rod/stroke ratio and wanted to share. Parts picked. LD28 Block L24 Crank N47 Head Z20E Rods L28 Flat Tops 1mm Head Gasket Rod/Stroke Ratio:2.069 Bore/Stroke Ratio:0.857 Static Compression: 9.471 With a displacement of 2.569L and 0.000 Deck clearance. Might be good for a high revving option.

Just spotted this QR25DE swap using the Frontier engine and transmission into a 510. Looks to be a killer project. http://s257.photobucket.com/albums/hh210/DGRFab/Yelo510/

Apparently the 327ci and 302ci Chevy engines have some fame behind them. Might be worth picking up for $200. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?p=1107278#post1107278

Well i'm 21 years old and recieved my 280Z as gift from my girlfriend for my 19th birthday. She bought it on Ebay for $500 and wanted to keep it a surprise. I loved her for it! Then the bad news started to roll in, first it was located in WV, about 520 miles away. If you guys remember at this time gas was $4.XX/gal on the East Coast. On top of it I had to got pick it up with my mom's gas guzzling Ford Expedition.... So I get to this guys house and I take a look at my new Z and its a complete rust bucket. No floors, no fenders....basically garbage. I didnt mention it to her and I keep it in my garage, some progress is made but not enough. I just keep cutting rust out and theres almost no Datsun left lol. I spent more $$ bringing up to Jersey then it will ever be worth, I still love it and will never get rid of it. Maybe I will use it for decorative purposes in the future.

I'm in Newark, to bad my Z is undriveable.

Why do import guys have stufed animals/dolls on their exhaust?
mikedc528 replied to stravi757's topic in Non Tech Board
We don't all look like that!! Lol, we call their female species guidettes around my parts. Def: A female guido; characteristic for having an absurdely long Italian name, breast implants, and tight clothing. -
Please PM me with pictures and prices please. I will look into the shipping costs. Even $1k shipping costs are cheaper then some of the rusted crap they try to sell here in Jersey. I've gone to look at three different S30s here in the past month, all stated that they had little rust. When I go to check them out, they all are completely collapsed with rust.

I have finally given up on my 78 280z, too many bloody knuckles and time wasted. It seems that it is getting worse and will never get any better:(. I am now looking for a shell....willing to buy one with SOME EASILY REPAIRABLE RUST. I am looking in the $200 to $300 range and must be withing 150 miles of zip code 07114. If you have anything that fits this criteria let me know. Thanks

mikedc528 replied to AkumaNoZeta's topic in Drivetrain
I have a 2002 325xi and it has a transfer case, the spread I think is 62 rear and 38 front. It also has this neat little differential up front, the half shafts seem to go straight through the oil pan. I was thinking for a long time of trying something like that on the z...but then again its just a dream. Then again the BMW does handle amazingly for an awd car, especially with the traction control off, ive managed to do a few 360s with it when the TC is off. -
