Well good luck with this I'll be waiting patiently to see the outcome. I'm really curious to see how it sits in the final resting spot. Not enough people mod the ZX, so I hope this will inspire more followers. I personally am using my 280zx to learn the basics as I have never worked on any car before and boy is it a learning curve . I believe there was another member running his steering linkage through the gap in his headers in order to work. The problem is I can't remember who it was. I dunno if that helps but maybe it might simplify the routing of the linkage?

Which steering rack did you have, rack and pinion or steering box?

I personally have never seen it before, but those look Ginormous! The perfect size.

Is it a coupe or 2x2? Also I like where that hood is going but I'm not a fan of those side mirrors.

Could you mount the radiator so that it's leaning forward? Like get a fabricator to redo your radiator mount?

I was looking at the other thread where the guy Photoshop'd the mini cooper headlights on to an s30 chassis and it seems that if you were to fiberglass your own headlight bucket you can make it fit you could accommodate a pretty big variety of headlights.

The purple 280zx was a modified s30 gnose kit fiber glassed to fit on a 280zx. That piece is amazing and I would love to have one just like it... sigh.

Any particular reason why you have the center section sit out that far?

I had question with the poly bushings, what's the torque specifications for the new bushings? Poly bushings don't give, so wouldn't there be a different torque spec for them? I'm currently working on my 81 280zx bushings specifically tension rod and stabilizer bushings and I was trying to get it to at least 33lbs of torque but they just spin. >.< Is there some trick to it?

If your doing any of the swaps, it will be very convenient to have a s130 parts car, if you are gonna change to brakes and so forth... that's if the price is right.

Something I neglected was where the weather stripping was... >.< if you are willing pull back the weather stripping and check for cancer.

How do you determine the gear ratio of the OBX unit? Or should I say is there anything to take into consideration when trying to setup the over all car gearing? Ex. Car "a" is running World Class T5 with stock gearing powered by stock lt1-- would the OBX unit compliment overall gearing?

It'd be badass if you finally get the sound you're looking for and take it a step further by fabbing up your own variable vavle timing to go with it.

I was browsing the internet looking for something to replace the broken and degrading door paneling for my 280zx when I came across the website RodDoors.com. The website says they have door panels that come in varying sizes from 44" wide x 34" tall to 32" wide x 44" tall. Does anybody think this would be a good replacement for the particle board and vinyl that comes stock? My only concern is that you pay 200 something odd dollars for plastic paneling that you have to cover yourself. Any thoughts?

You said you liked the older version of the z gauge pod, but wouldnt the newer z have a wider dash? Like a 350z or maybe a 240sx? I'm in the same boat as you because I don't dig the square look so much.

Why not just shave the handles and get an auto start for a smoother look.
