I took a list of things I needed over to my donor car(1981 2plus2) to pull parts.rear diff,mustache bar,front diff mount and rear travers link mount.Problem, nothing but the r200 diff was there, is the 2plus2 setup different? I didn't recognize anything from my drawings!? This is going into a 73 240z. Thanks for the input, Kevin

  3. Hi, great custom z. The problem with a custom car is finding a buyer who likes what you or someone customized. Most z buyers like and will pay decent prices for rust free stock cars. I hope not to offend you but for a fairly quick sale 8 to 11 grand. Good luck with your sale, it only takes one buyer to void anything I think!
  4. I have a stuck strut cartridge in my 73 front spindle, is a 1975 spindle the same?
  5. Is a 1975 front spindle the same as a 1973? My 73 has a stuck strut cartrige. How stuck you ask? I first pulled so hard the shaft pulled out of the cartridge. Time to get the big guns out, I put a large eyelet with two nuts on it down into the cartrige, filled the empty cartrige with epoxy, next day I chained one end to a telephone pole the other to a 15000 lb tractor! I would have bet my life on that cartrige coming out, wrong! straightened out the 1/2 inch eyelet. Wish I would have had time to take pics, we where shaking the telephone pole and wires, quite a show!

  9. My 1973 project did not have a transmission cross member in it so I looked at my 1981 turbo parts car and it bolts right up(5 speed). My question is, what is the extra piece of stamped metal that bolts right up with the trans cross brace(1981)? The older cars don't have it, is it needed? Thanks, Kevin
  10. I bought a 5 speed and I need to ID it. Its from some vintage of z car I think 80 thru 83. I have searched this site and others, what do you guys think? The top is stamped 7Z3020 Gear ratio? I've read so many post on driveshaft lengths, cross member types and types of shifters needed for different years my head hurts. I think the best and fastest way is to just start bolting S@!$ in! What fits you keep, what doesn't you start looking for! Adios Amigos
  11. I like the looks of this and cleaning up that area of the engine bay but it seems like the extra distance will "tighten" up the bends on your downtube if useing large, 3" and bigger tubing? I am still looking for ideas like this I just don't like my options , currently have a TIAL EW and plan to vent back into the downtube. Keep the ideas comeing I have to pull the trigger pretty soon!

  15. One of the reasons for this question was to get more room for a 3" downpipe made with two 45's instead of two 90's. It also seems that if the outlet is located more towards the center of the manifold there should be more velocity directed to the turbo?

  17. Thanks, I was also talking about the 5 bolt flange that is welded to the downtube(exit side of the turbo). Any links to suppliers for copper gaskets? I tried TIAL website but didn't see any there.
  18. I'm mocking up my ext wastegate and was wondering if gaskets are used on the stainless flanges? How about the downtube flange(5 bolt for A/R turbo) Thanks, Kevin

  20. I like the looks of that, real clean. Did you just tap into the hole behind your exaust flange? I'm running a A/R turbo that has a hole behind my exhaust flange. I cant tell from the picture but it looks like thats what you did. How do you like this setup? 240 or 280? Thanks, Kevin
  21. I'v decided to go external WG(TIAL). I'v done a search and haven't found many pics to help out. I'm planning to vent back to the downpipe. Any help out there with pictures? My car already had it mocked up but it looks like @#$%! and the welds have holes in them. Thanks in advance.
  22. I have my 240sx throttle body mounted and was wondering if i will need those two "taps" (I think they where for water)on the top of the body or can I just cut them off? Any dyno info on using the 60mm verses stock TB on a turbo engine? Does it really make much difference? Thanks, Kevin
  23. I have a 1981 2+2 280zx I will sell for 350.00. I will let you have a EFI engine and 4 speed also. This car has very little rust, some parts are being sold. This car is located in Southeast Missouri. kcambron@semo.net
  24. My car, currently not running,was purchased with a Greddy relief valve on the manifold, I want to swap to a N42 (older EFI manifold) will I still need the relief valve(on the maniold) since I'm running a BOV?
