  1. Im hoping im thinking right and testing right. My l20et has been getting worse over the past 3 weeks. Lucky i only drive it 3 times a week. But this morning any major load. e.g past 5psi, Power wouldnt drop off quickly and then she would miss and stutter, and blow large amounts of brown (ritch) smoke. Tonight comming home was worse. Swaped over another AFM meter. And hooked up my o2 sensor again. And any hint of boost it would go megga lean and fall flat on its ***. (a/f guage) Putting back in my other afm. still the same.. Would i best to presume my Fuel pump is buggerd?. It has been making some groaning noises when off throttle crusing on and off, time to time.
  2. intresting, as my l20et Dizzy does not look like your one on the left. I have two of them and they both have the slotted pickup disk....... (optical) ? im unsure, but they look nothing like your version on the left. What year l20et's were they out of ?. mine is the 85 version.
  3. ehhe yeah, looks like your afm. MAybe dirty pins causing the mixtures to upset. Ive had similar problems myself
  4. Ah so i can run without it. Ive been running without it for a few days, and its alot smoother. Nor do i run my 02 sensor, that just seems to bog it down alot. Seems to have the same problems yours does. Ive noticed now. Im running 11psi. And its been running fine for a few days. apart from the clutch not always holding up . But now. after saturday night. I gave it a hard run in 2nd and 3rd. at 5000rpm in seccond the whole car cut out. A/f still showing ritch. Then after that it will miss a little bit while boosting hard. Quite anoying. Last night, samething again, in 2nd gear. no miss but the a/f went megga lean off the guage. 3rd gear it missed again. Now i know the a/f guages are the most presise unit to run off. but im sure its alarming if it goes off the guage.
  5. Ive been noticing on light throttle crusing around town i get a low end miss and stumble all the time.. makes it horrid to drive. Unpluging the TPS removes this. or even adjusting it either way doesnt help it at all. At the moment im not using it. No stumble no missing ect. So.... the question is. What benifit do i have in using my tps at all ?. the only down side ive noticed is ive lost a little bit of down low torque. But the smoothnes makes up for that

Ive also done a seach and didnt come up with many Convincing Topics on the subject so hopefully in one Thread we can all get some line of where people can run from. And hopefully Keep its a sticky so it can be read by all easly. Please from here on. Note what you all know about the conversion, Blocks to be used. Head's, Combo's, Ideas on pistons. Fuel mangement ect. What blocks are best to be used?, Can Early L28's e.g late 70's to early 80's Be used. Im sure you all know where im comming from so hopefully we can make something of this.
  7. Intresting read. Im really keen on doing this myself. But not really sure what the early l28'e had in the block design. Im swaping all the turbo gear off my l20et and putting in GTR 440cc injectors to make up for the fuel side. Im sure in term this would stop the large pinging isues knowen to doing this ?
  8. just trying to get some information so my mate can torque his flywheel upright on a l20et. any one have any tips or settings on what they can be set to? thanks :_
  9. I have none, removed, Same with throttle body heater, and throttle damper. Hard to start but after 10 mins its fine
  10. good point, but it still makes heaps more torque. I did it again a few times on the way home, and it was still the same as going from 2k or so......... : / maybe its just me

  12. Ive been comming across this many times with my l20et. When going full from say 2k or lower, its smooth and swift. but not always the same power or pull each time. If i bring it up to 3k or 4k in 2nd 3rd, what ever gear im in. And then nail it. Sure enough it will throw me back and take off. I seem to gain alot of power. Does anyone know of problems with changing power. The idea of timing keeps poping into my head. Is it possible the timing curve can change ?. Ive swaped Dizzys with a spare one i had and noiced no diffrence My mods list as. 600x300 intercooler. Rb20det turbo upgrade, 2.5" exhaust. intake mods. 600hp bosh fuel pump. Bosh gt40+ coil. Bosh 02 sensor Running 8psi.
  13. The l20et and the l28et e.g a build up turbo l28e. Are identical to each other. Just bolt on the l20et exhasut manifold and intake manifold and use the l20et ecu. It will run fine. Just dont run anymore than 5-6 psi untill you have larger injectors. Mounts are the same. Same with the bellhousings
  14. When you are in a county that all vehicals are jap imports. No one likes a motor that is a. 20 years old. b. Doesnt make any power in factory form. C; parts are hard to find. when it comes to a nissan six its always the RB. Rb this rb that,. Yada yada, Yeah i love them also.
  15. Well i must say my ol l20et is a diffrent vehical. MY old turbo was 20 years old has sections missing out of the compressor wheel and one fin was bent, so much play that the wheel would hit the side if i made it. Well, i made 109rwkw aka around 160hp at the wheels on the old turbo, that was only 8psi. Now i have installed a rb20det turbo onto the side, More modern, not to much laterger over the l20et one. But i must as, 9psi has a hell of alot more power. ITs smooth strong and consistint. im exspecting around 175hp or so at the wheels. now :D . Ah i have to brag i guess, no one like l20ets over here
  16. Well i just took it for a drive again, and i have boost. "confused" Who knows. My turbo is on the way out, it used to make some Grinding noises at 13psi, Then i turned it down. 5 months later i put it up and no sound. Unsure why., im currently using a Manual BLitz Controller. it has a huge Body and dial Unsure on whats style, needle/ball or bleed. If you get the "death" turbo noise, my car sounded like a dieing goose, i preusume power will start to drop even knowing it doesnt make the noise anymore. Because eveything i seem to do over time im loosing power. I got 109rwkw on 8psi. Which i guess is alright. But the turbo is stuffed. Which could be the reasion to my no boost. Ive always had Incosistint (sp) boost with any controller. The only luck ive had which game me 8psi max was a Adjustable arm on the wastegate.
  17. After Adjusting and rerouting my WAstegate feed lines and adjusting the Blitz Manual controller I now cannot generate boost, Well i like 1psi. Im presuming since my turbo is 20 years old and has seen 15psi manytimes. Id presume its finialy bitten the dust. All i did was Move the Feed line back onto the turbo. From the intake manifold i had it running hoping it would help the ever so "i love diffrent levels of boost" contoller. gave it a quick blat and 15psi, so i backed off. Turned it down and got 8 psi. which is fine. Then 5 mins later i have no boost the next time i nail it, All lines are connected fine and the WAstegate seems to be still closed. Which would lead me to think its dead ?

  19. Since the l28e has the same rated factory powe ras a l20et, Would installing a L28e cam. Improve my power band, I find the l20et has nothing down low due to is LOOOOOOOW compression ratings
  20. actaully i think mine doesnt have a mechanical Retard System, all electronic. Uses the same dizzy as a l20et
  21. I agree, just hoping someone would chime in and hopfully inform, which ya did thanks . Is their a major diffrence between a l20et ecu, and a l28et ecu ? They all seem to work in the right princible. I do know tho the l20et ecu doesnt have a leaning out problem after 5k.
  22. Ive been toying with this idea in my head for a while, and hoping i can possible Sucsseed with this in my Country. Now i do have a R30 skyline with a l20et. Now i can get a l28e Now my questions are. Will the l20et run a l28et. I know injecors can be a problem but vg30det/rb25det injectors are 2.4 ohms and 370cc. ALso i have hear rumors that The l28 sits on a diffrent angle to a l20et and the Bell hosing will not bolt onto the l28 due to this angle. Corrent me if im wrong Any insites?
  23. ok, A NOTHER ONE IS CRACKED worse than before, how the hell is this happening ? what can cause them to leak out the body themselfs?

  25. ah sorry no pics atm soonish. need to sort it. Im using proper Fuelline hose clamps. on the whole lot. The first time it happend i had never touched the fuel side of the system. it was factory. Im just presuming its old age. I hope
