  2. actaully the skyline ones are not top mount. They are a side mount running down the side of the passengers gard. The problem with these factory cores are they are prone to splitting, Ive seen a hell of alot of "factory" used r32/r33's with split intercoolers.
  3. jebuus. I guess im not the best at reading compressor maps. I just look at the flow vrs the pressure (psi/bar) Im getting excited now. Pitty i wont have a running skyline untill late this year.
  4. Question of the day is. How much more power does it feel like its making more than the stock t3 unit ? It will even wake up to 20psi or so. Where the compressor will start to run in its effiency range
  5. for a stock one its fun, untill you want more, Stock boost yeah fine. After a bit of thrashing they do start to heat up.
  6. pretty uselss with anything over 10-12psi, becomes a restricon.
  7. Sounds like i got a good match for the l28. Lets hope i can get some good power levels out of it. The compressor map really looks promising
  8. Its a single scroll unit. 9cm.. I found the forumla on the net to work out the a/r ratio and its .65 So it wont be to laggy. Also has a nice 3" Vband clamp exahaust side. From what i found/measured. Compresser inducer is 44mm. (not mega big) and OD is 76mm. I emailed holset about this turbo, and they said it came off one of their 4L diesel engines.Possibly one of the best matches for a l28 ?
  9. hey guys, Well i picked up a brand new Hx30w for my l28et build. Im using a n42/n42 combo, with port matched manifold and head. IM sorting looking at what kind of power levels i can exspect out of this turbo. Its def a well defined small package. From what i can find good for around 400hp, but unsre of that. Here is the only compressor map i could find. Really shows some huge flow rates
  10. get a high quality blade for it, Crappy cheepo ones wear on one side more, which makes the blade flex and cut on a angle. Changing to a good high quality blade will stop this
  11. Actaully if you read alot of the holset threads on the DSM forums, And the honda ones. There seems to be alot of people running high compression turbo motors these days.
  12. So whats my options, this guy wants 350nz for it. Which is really cheep. Will this happly get me past the 300hp mark ?

  15. soda blasting is simialr to sand blasting but using a bakingsoda based grit. Doesnt damage glass or trim peices but will strip paint like a mofo. Brilliant stuff. You can strip and car back to bare in about 3 hours.

  17. Sounds good man!. Smooth. I just pulled my l28e-t apart. Getting excited myself to get it rebuilt and running in the skyline
  18. they crack at the base of the barb stalk. In the molding hole. Ive had over 4 go over a year.
