  1. just checking to see if it cleared the block on the factory manifold. Either way i have not got the snap ring back in., so its just sitting there.
  2. A friend of mine is going to make one for me. Im sure we can get more made if need be. Going to be the proper split pulse setup. Going to use Jp280's Trust? one as a template. Only costing me $600. out of steam tube
  3. Hx40W. Near new condition. Cost me $300nz
  4. Hey mate. Auckland. Jeze i would of stopped half way and moved to wellington. Yeah we are getting two intake manifolds made for the l28's. Then ill be making a twin scroll exhaust manifold.
  5. YEEEHAW.. Manifold time.. I'm getting excited. Sorry about the foot.. Definitely a heavy motor
  6. Not to far till its running Just got the block back, Test fitting the New holset
  7. you can do this easly. but its best to get the l20et loom/ecu/dizzy/afm and dizzy oil pump drive. Replace all this gear on the l28, find some vg30et injectors (270cc) and run from there, Should be pretty pepy. the small turbo off the l20et will give instant response on the l28. But will run out of breath easly
  8. Caster rod bush, And yes. you definitely need it!
  9. he351 has a 2mm larger inducer on the compressor wheel. (60mm)
  10. Always love you work rob. Wont be long until your make those two intake manifolds for us Cannot wait to see this beast run!
  11. Try a dayco 94407 http://home.comcast.net/~alhandyman/files/RB30_DOHC.pdf http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=15420
  12. direction of the current should not change the output on the bulb. You might have a bad ground somewhere. I had low output with my factory wiring, So made up a external harness with relays and used the old harness as a switch only. Improved the output hugely over factory. I'm running switched 12V also, Not switched ground
  13. Does a hx35-40 rebuild kit usable in a HE351? I presume they are the same turbo just a different compressor housing to suit the later DODGE. I cannot find any rebuild kits referring to a he351, Im going to get one sent to NZ from a eBay store. But its in need of a rebuild.
  14. TB156YU29 That number should cross over.
  15. Pm me, Moded my l20et pretty heavily. Dont use rb20det injectors. It isn't worth the hassle. I had some vg30et injectors i was running. Got them pretty cheep. (under $50) Most l20et's in NZ use the normal Optical CAS dizzy.Same as the l28et's All ive seen use this. Same with mine. I was running the vg30et injectors. 22deg BTC, Ported shaved/smoothed intake manifold 60mm throttle body, (port matched to manifold) rb25det FPR. Walbro 044 fuel pump. Located the afm to the front of the turbo inlet. Ran a rb20det turbo. 16psi. Made around 200rwhp. Pretty smooth power delivery. Was impressed with the power it made. Even more since she had done 480,000k!
  16. take one plug lead off at a time, and find which cylinder is producing it. The noise will stop when you kill the spark. = no power
  17. 10psi on the hy35 would not even be reaching the optimin effincy.would be around 50%..at 10psi. the stock t3 would be close or past to its limits of peak effincy at 13psi.
  18. correct would touch a Fram filter with a 10 foot pole GUD ryco for me mate
  19. Humm... Intresting. Anyone want to ship one my way
  20. heh, id love to get a hy35/hx35.... Nothing here in NZ running along of those lines . Seems to be america only. Prices are on the rise big time also
  21. ok guys, ive got a brand new hx30w sitting here next to me, And up one trademe there is 2 holset hx50's http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=96336380 http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=96484642 I can sell my new hx30 if need be to get a hx50 for my L28 build. I need some opinions on whats going to be best. Im aiming to start at 250rwkw ( in a 1150kg chassie its alot of power) Maybe smuding to 300rwkw. The hx30w is rated to around 480hp at 19psi at 79% effiecny according to the compressor maps. But someplaces ive heard of people being disapointed with them. SO if anyone here has/or is using a hx30 chime up with results or dyno plots.!! I gather a hx50 is completly to big, and id be running it below its efficeny to start with, Is it a better investment in the long run to go this way ? Thanks
