  1. As you already know ive done this build up, Still doing it. I have a spare motor for my l31 build which im happy to part with the pistons and rods if need be. Also got another set of n/a pistons. (l28e gear im talking about) If you need a spare rod or a set pm me. And we can work something out. When it comes to putting the l28 into the hr30. You need to modifie the oil pick up, There is another boss towards the front of the block for the MAXIMA setup and the south african r30's, This needs to be drilled out and threaded, then you move the oil pick up to there. Block the old one off. Install the l20et sump and your running.
  2. ive also got a l20et ecu that will happly run it also... out of a hr30.. l20et.
  3. Im glad i didnt go with it in the end. Sold it on and got a good condition HX40w Should be alot better
  4. Do a search for hx35 hy35 and he351 on the forums and you will find these are some of the best bang for buck turbos used on this forum
  5. Ive got two l20et's as part motors. If people need bits. Shipping will be a killer tho
  6. Watched your runs this saturday, She looks great and smooth compared to those dirty v8's. Came down to have a look since i saw it last was gonna have a chat with you but looks like you were logging and viewing off your camera
  7. Its trial and error. Ive had great success with it on my Skyline
  8. I saw something on tv... Use a old blunt drill bit
  9. he answered that already, use the factory l28et one, and re-bend it
  10. You will find with the seats leaking is that the shaft isn't aligned properly, Ive got a cheep DSR unit in front of me, IT has the removable/replaceable seat, But the main shaft isn't aligned properly, So it doesn't seal 100%. Its a matter of taking it apart and aligning the internals again
  11. To be honnest the 240 and 260's have a great classic smooth look, And are lighter, The 280/s130 is a bit tacky in my eyes. But all depends on what you want to spend
  12. 20% = 80% rustoleum and 20% thinners
  13. I don't see what the problem is with drilling the block, Mine was done the same. Even the dipstick boss was drilled out. Its a easy as task to do. You will find the dipstick blocks the oil gallery. This isn't a problem because its the oil pickup from the other boss. To be safe we tapped a frost plug all the way down the gallery pickup just in case it might of leaked
  14. Id look at a gt3076R.. Probably the best balanced turbo for rb's
  15. Wont be to bad. But still a limited turbo. Can support around 230rwkw. The s2 r33 turbo uses a plastic compressor wheel. and a ceramic exhaust wheel Great for spooling, next to no lag. But don't push her past 14psi. The exhaust wheel is only bonded to the shaft and with the higher exhaust temps and shaft speed, they like to come off
  16. God... She's looking good rob. Think its time for another road trip up. Just to stare at it. Still speachless
  17. Ive done the same conversion, but in my r30 coupe. Still a front bowl. Whats needed is the front bowl oil pickup to be drilled and taped, and the dip stick needs to be redrilled and the oil passaged blocked... (small welsh plug)
  18. Well we trucked off up to see rips to organize some custom gear for our l28's Got some extra pictures of the 240z. Pictures don't do this car justice, its amazing in person.
