Okay, so I bought the car (a 71 240Z)with vise grips for window crank handles.... I would like to do a electric window upgrade. I don't think it would be possible for me to salvage the regulator splines, just because of how messed up/perfectly round they are. I had an idea of welding a nut onto the regulator shaft, and possibly modifying a 6 point socket to work with the window motor. Ideas, thoughts?? I do not have the electric window kit yet, so I do not know if this is entirely possible, but I am open to ideas.

LT1 or LS1 (not a debate guys)
VSnakeByteV replied to OMONLA's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
I am currently doing the LT1 upgrade, and my reasoning is it was free. I live in CA and the Firebird wouldn't pass smog without a lot of work, so I bought a 71 Datsun that;s smog exempt, and now I have a use for the LT1! The LT1 has it's problems with the optispark, and it's horrible placement behind the water pump. I would like to point out the new Corvette Stingrays are using an LT1 again! I haven't looked into the possibility of parts from the new LT1 bolting onto the older ones, but I'd like to think at least some of it will. The LT1 is easier to come by in my opinion because everyone want -
Sorry for the super late response, getting to working on the car again. I will be using a 4 or 5 point harness at some point, I plan to install the rear strut brace then have the seat belts go over the top of it to the back. I found out the Subaru impreza seats I;m looking for from a 04-05 sti are 19" at the top and 19.5" at the bottom. I know above it says 19" at the legs, but I gotta measure my 71 to make sure. I'm so psyched it's this close!!!

I love the look of this hood, where did you get it? I can't find any aftermarket hoods that are vented.

Possible New Fiberglass Hood for Z cars
VSnakeByteV replied to HarveyZ's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z
I agree with you Atozone, I think the GT40 style hood looks great, I would be throwing money at you if you combined that with the Camaro SS scoop in the center. If it had nice mesh and made the scoop and vents functional I would be sold. I want the SS style hood, but want something extra, I'm all about the look, but even more so if its functional! I dont know if Id like the GT40 vents, or something like the Viper vents. Sooo ummm thats my opinion. -
