Having had the pleasure of owning a new 1977 280Z (Zap edition) as a sophomore in college and wanting to own another 280Z for the last 25 years I finally got what I wanted this April: a 1978 survivor 280Z in amazing shape (no rust whatsoever!, perfect maintenance records, few and well executed upgrades such as cams, header, exhaust, struts, wheels and tires. Paint and upholstery were totally original and in great shape (not perfect, but great). Now, I know purists will cringe (and that's why my write up is not on the Classic Z Forum) but I wanted to do to this Z what I would have done back in '77 to my first 280Z had I had the money: lower it, bigger and better wheels/tires, upgrade my upholstery, get a killer paint job and tweek my engine to get the most out of it without going turbo or swap. This is my first post on this great site. Found this great example of a survivor '78 280Z in April of this year. It's been in the process of getting a complete re-spray after having done disc brake upgrades, wheels and tire change and lowering springs installed. I've taken lots of pics and will put up the progress in a separate post now that I've figured out how to stick pictures in here.

Classic look of the white is unbeatable and if you're going to LEDs (which I'm about to do as well) you will loose the "cool white" effect if you stick them behind yellow lenses.

My 78 280Z coupe has no holes in that location.

I've been trying to locate an OEM passenger door weatherstripping for my 1978 280Z. Called courtesy Nissan and to my surprise I was informed that they had it for the '77 280Z but not for the "78. They specifically said that they are different parts with different parts numbers. I then called Vintage Rubber and Randy sells the same weatherstripping for all years 280Zs and was surprised to hear what I had been told by Courtesy Nissan. He said he would look into it further. Has anyone had experience with this issue?

I need to replace the OEM windshield on my 1978 280Z. I have found two sources for a replacement made by PGW Autoglass with a bluish tint and a darker band at the top. Has anyone used this brand replacement glass? Is there another maker that is preferable? Another source? Thanks to all.
