  1. Man I really dig those pics! Not only do you have a passion for your Z and its progress but the fun of sharing the experience with all the other day dreamers out there!
  2. Man, this car is looking so sharp! Is that diff a R180 and do that make that LSD for the R200 in the 280Z's?
  3. It is still always sweet to see your car make it in a good photo!
  4. Can you post a link to the online article of your car? I've looked but can't seem to find it
  5. Since I'm "sensitive" to sunlight, I tinted the windows to 30%. In MN, I needed to get a tint prescription to go lower than 50%. The louvers will be coming off. Since plastidip is extremely cheap, I like to play around with it We also removed all the side moulding on the car. Many were small screws, but there were a few rivets that had to be drilled out. Which form was from factory? I finally dropped the gas tank and get the last rear bumper mount removed. For now, I RTV'ed pennies over the holes until it get permanently fixed later.
  6. I like the sounds of that! Congrat on the progress that has been made so far!
  7. It looks like you mail your pcm in with 2 days needed for them to tune it. $150 doesn't seem too bad.
  8. Thanks for the info. Luckily I'm going to get this thread caught up and I'll focus my time on the engine swap first! I'll keep spraying them in the meantime.
  9. Is there anyone that could email you their tune file that are running close to what you have in your car? If they could delete the rear o2 sensors I think you'd be set. I had a couple cbr liter bikes where I was able to swap tunes, even with slightly different mods and they both ran fine.
  10. Keith, I've soaked them a few times over the last month and will continue to do so. Does anyone sell that spindle pin puller still today? I have an air hammer that I planned on using if I can't get them out. I'll have to dig and see if there is a write up on those 5/8" bolts for replacements. I take it, its not worth buying a second set of spindle pins?
  11. I can't wait to see how many people go home blind after a car show with this thing!
  12. I think the champion has worked for many LS swaps but I'm a fan of the filler neck located off to the side as well. It's been discussed that a few Griffin radiators fit also.
  13. I emailed Austin Hoke on his kit and he mentioned the beta kits may be released the first part of next year. I agree that his work looks top notch and I'm hoping we can get a member of do an install down the road.
  14. Are you going to angle the water pump neck down? That bracket looks really nice and will look better powder coated. Slow progress is good progress. Doing it right the first time is always gratifying.
  15. He had it garaged. I'm sure it sat out here and there, hence the rust in the back hatch portion. I can manage with the one dent on the passenger door for now. The underneath just has surface rust but the undercoating is in good shape. I have the ground control weld in coil over kit going in at some point. We will see how dreaded those spindle pins are then!
  16. Cable I think they're may be a tuning issue based on what your driving habits are.
  17. The very next thing that had to go are those glorious chrome horns. I feel much better with them gone For the most part, I love how clean the body is. I removed the rear bumper and saved the right support for another day.
  18. You should post up a before and after vid of the exhaust. I'm curious in how it sounds! I have yet to purchase a mount/header kit and am leaning towards hawks third gen.
  19. Trackzspeed, I'm on the fence just like you with the gauges. What needs to be done at the shop to finish the exhaust?
  20. That looks leaps and bounds better than the OEM stick.
  21. Thanks RB26. All I have to say is your car extremely nice! Which brand fender flares are you running? I like the look of the quality. The custom grill is very sharp as well.
  22. For those using a LS2 out of a GTO, my notes on what parts you will need are listed down below. I purchased them from GM Parts Direct and within a couple days, they had my package ready to be shipped: Part Numbers - Oil pan:12624617 276.95 Pickup tube:12624497 32.71 Windage tray:12558189 17.21 - The GTO uses this tray, so you won't need to purchase this. Dip stick:12570788 12.64 Dip stick tube:12570787 12.59 Pickup tube o-ring:12557752 3.87 - The Pickup tube comes with a red O-ring (#12584922) and should be used instead of this. Gasket:12612350 25.63 - The oil pan comes with a gasket so this is not needed.
  23. As I've been quite busy with some life changes, I've spent the last couple months collecting information on my ideas for what kind of build I am looking at doing. I'll slowly add the progress of the build up to today. The build will be around an LS2/T56 pull out of a 2005 GTO.
