  1. Spence, They are cheaper in Texas, dont jump on that deal just yet. Let me ask around today. Shipping would not cost you but a couple of hundred bucks and you would not have to pay tax if it is bought from out of state. I think i can get you a deal.
  2. For those who have seen the pics of my cars engine the valve covers are very tall ball milled billet made by weisco and they provide plenty of clearance for the tallest of valvetrain components. Plus they come in a plain white box and they only cost 70 something bucks!..My original pushrods were 1/4" too short and the rockers were rubbing on the edge of the spring, Talk about a loud clatter! The pushrod length checker is around 14.00 I suggest buying one if you plan on doing any cam/rocker changes.
  3. I had a few problems with my valve geometry so i bought a tool and got the correct length pushrods and that solved my problems. You may have to shim the studs up a little so you have enough threads for your lock nuts. I have a Crower 547/567 lift solid roller Crower roller lifters and crane gold 1.5/1.65 split ratio roller rockers. I think one thing that we are over looking here is engine temperature. I am using the stock nissan radiator and have had NO cooling problems... I think 180 is the hottest my engine has gotten sitting at a light.. Roller valve trains are a little bit louder but the performance increase is well worth the xtra noise and cost.
  4. My next door neighbor owns All American Auto Salvage, I will talk to him and find out an exact price. There is also an outfit in Alabama that has them, but i do not know what they charge www.scott.net/~bgraham
  5. Brian, I bought mine from Street Rodders Whse in Conroe Texas. I paid 125.00 for them. The problem is that you have minimal clearance for your steering rod. I had to dimple the collector a little bit. Plus my engine sits up a little higher than it should. I had to cut my hood. I am currently trying to find a remote air cleaner that i can use with a stock hood. If it is not too late i would suggest maybe different heads. The summit brand block huggers fit perfect in the car but wont work with anlge plug heads. If you need me to get you a set of the street rod headers let me know. Myron
  6. HOW DO I MAKE IT WORK?... I hooked up a vaccuum switch and re adjusted the cable and it still doest shift right. It has 350 miles on it and the fluid came out full of clutch material (oil looked black)... when you manualy shift from 1-2 it takes a couple of seconds for it to actually shift. I tried hooking the lock up switch to work, I made a switch that works off of the brake pedal that is supposed to unlock the converter when you touch the brakes, but it kept burning fuses .. I am fixin to go to bed but i will look for you tommorow.. Late, Myron
  7. Dan, Good luck with that 700r4.. Mine has been nothing but trouble. make sure that you have all that extra b/s hooked up before you drive it.. please learn from my mistakes.. be careful setting the kickdown cable and make sure you have the switch hooked up for that stupid lock-up converter.. I am pulling my engine and tranny this week to start over for the 2nd time in 350 miles....
  8. I like the idea of a bag, but not changing the whole suspension. I may go with the ford 9" or a chevy 12 bolt for the rear but no can do unless I sell my 4 wheeler..
  9. I burnt up my new 700r4 because i didnt know what i was doing (lock up switch and kick down cable). I am so disgusted with the 700 that i think that i should go back with a turbo 350. I had a th350 with a fresh rebuild but when my house flooded so did the tranny, thats whan i decided to go overdrive. I think that the 700 would be nice for the long cruise but it is more cantankerous and hard to set up. either way I got 350 miles out of the 700 and muddy water out of the 350.... which one should i rebuild?. I have a buddy that will sell me his TCI th350 and a 2500 stall for 300 bucks... What do you think??? signed MR P/O'ed
  10. Spence, what year are those heads? New model lt1's are different than early model lt1 heads. Be careful. If you are looking to put an lt1 in your car you can buy one (down here in texas) pretty cheap. I think i was quoted an lt1 with a 6 speed with low miles for arond 1500.00.. what do you think guys?? Myron
  11. Brian, What a nightmare i had with blockhugger and angleplug heads! I bought the summit brand block huggers and tried using them with the angle plug heads. They didnt work so i had to buy street rod headers with the 2 center tubes on the inside of the collector. this caused problems with steering rod clearace. Long story short my engine sits up a little higher than it should.... Myron
  12. I just emailed most of you some updated pictures of my car. Let me know what you think....
