What's up Chris? The only way I'm doing this is if I build a monster 510. I just really like that little 510. Maybe I could sell some of my kids for the 510!! Haaha.. JK... Don't tell on me! Race gas is on order!!

I have a carpet kit installed in my 1972 240Z. Everything is in but the padding under the floor mats. What is a good way to ensure they will not slide around. I tried 2 sided tape and Velcro but it keeps coming up. Any ideas? Glue? Sew it in? Thanks!

I guess I should add I have the Lexus sold for a great price and I would be able to payoff a big loan which would be nice. Then again, the safety of the Lexus with the kids is a plus for sure. Ahhhh. Hate this stuff!! I want both!! Hahaha.

I'm posting this thought in a couple of the Datsun forums. Now I know this is a Datsun forum and not a Lexus/Toyota forum but I know ya'll can help. I have a SC300 with all the goods and making about 730 HP at high boost as my daily driver. I also have a 1972 240Z with a 383 stroker in it. Both cars run good but I find myself liking the old Z alot. Keep in mind I am married and have two kids. K... So I really want to build a couple of 510 or at least one sedan but I can't do it unless I sell the Lexus.(If I do sell the Lexus I'm going to build the sedan as the daily driver.) The thing I really like about the old Datsun is that they get smiles all over town and really are pretty cheap to build. Don't get me wrong, the Lexus is a monster and a very cool car. So what do ya'll think? Lexus or a couple Datsun 510 builds?

Thanks for all the help! I am by no means a mechanic but know enough to get by. The rad. seems to move fluid very well and I flushed it out really well. I did not buy it so I really don't know the history behind it. I bought the car as a project although it looks pretty new. There has been alot of talk about the air box which I'm going to build but this is not going to help me when I'm sitting still. The strange thing about it is I've been driving the car all over durring the last few days and it not gotten over 200. The temp. here in Texas has been about 10 degrees cooler and just that alone has seemed to fix the problem.(but I have not been stuck in traffic sitting still for more than 3 minutes or so)

Yah but how about when the car is sitting in traffic?? That's my big problem!! Sitting still...

Update... Water hose test brought temp down right away although I've not have a problem with high temps since weather has been in the high 80's. So, it looks like I need a air box and better flow through the cooling system. The a/c is blocking almost all the rad. Up front and I think this is a problem. Does anyone know what's a solution for this? Is anyone out there using a Vintage a/c system? Thanks...

I'm using a new Weiand water pump. I'm not sure what model it is but I've got good movement/flow in the rad. As for the a/c, it's a new Vintage Air model. Just some info... I'm at work till tomorrow and it raining so I'll run the water hose test in the next couple of days. Thanks for all the posts!

I jacked the front of the car up really high and spent some time working air out of the system so there should not be much air. Oh, and yes I do have a spring in the lower hose.

I was going to do the water hose test but I never could get her to heat up. It was a overcast day here in Texas so temps. were a bit lower. Still about 90 though. It raining today so I'll try it later this weekend.
