  1. Considering your area, I am surprised it is still sitting there without being towed.
  2. You probably already know the Momo part number is 3503. ebay was the best cost effective source I could find. Free shipping to. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370233344321&viewitem=
  3. I will take the pictures tomorrow and get back to you.
  4. How about this one? I had it bead blasted and painted with a nice strong enamel paint. It is not rattle canned. http://www.fairladyzg.com/images/ForSale/280skid_01.jpg http://www.fairladyzg.com/images/ForSale/280skid_02.jpg I also have 4 more of the 280Z type like the one above but they will need cleanup.
  5. Seen where you put a post in for your friend for the RHD Z. I just bought a 77 280z RHD. Thats what I am going to put the sway bars on. Already have the springs and wide tires and rims. The RHD came with the JDM issued wheels that I havent seen before. Also, I own 50-55 Z cars, most drivers and some for parts. The wife has been pretty understanding so far as I am working on them. I have 2 large garages full of Z parts and havent had much time to work on them. I retired last December and have only built 1 car this year. She knows my hobby has taken us to the Z show in LA Calif two years ago. She likes Z's as well as me. She just hates when I buy parts and never get around to putting them on the car. I am putting the IMSA kit on the RHD and hopefully drive it out for the Motorsport show in April. Her sister lives in Tehachapi California.Shes a California State Trooper. Anyway, thanks for the sale on the bars. Roger

  6. I just looked at the paperwork from my now deceased 78 Fairlady Z. It has been on non-op status since 2003. Every year they have been sending me renewal notices with the option to pay or leave it non-op. To leave it non-op you do nothing. On mine it required a smog check and the registration fee. So since you are emission testing exempt, just mail in the fee. Your new registration and tags will arrive in a few weeks. You may want to have it currently insured as well. DMV and the insurance companies are tied together. DMV will revoke your registration if there is no insurance listed for the vehicle.
  7. If it is still in DMV's computer under non-op and you have all the paper work, no problem, just pay the fee's. If it is not in the system, then they will want to do a VIN check. Which means you have to take it to a field office. If that is the case, make sure you get the proper moving permit or have it on a trailer (two wheel dollies do not count). The last thing you need is CHP, Sheriff, or Police giving you a ticket for a non registered vehicle. Then DMV will want ALL fee's and penalties since the last time it was registered.
  8. ncfisher and I have a set from a 1970 complete up with rotors and calipers. We are located in Sacramento. PM if interested.
  9. Fairlady Z's from 74~78 are not a 280Z and they are not 240Z. Kind of falls in more with the early model 260Z.
  10. Sorry, to late, trash pickup was yesterday.
  11. I have a set. $25 but you have to take the whole hood.
  12. After two trips the final take was around $100.00. I had over 60lbs of wiring harnesses, 600lbs of mixed metal scrap, cleaned radiators, aluminum included cylinder heads and AC condensers. As a friend of mine has said time and time, "The ultimate value of any car is"... "How much does it weigh?"
  13. Seems there is more than I thought. So off to the scrap yard tomorrow.
  14. This statement tells me they did not put it in non-op status. CA DMV will keep tacking on fee's and penalties. I will bet good money that they had some one at a tow company lien sale it or they had a connection in a wrecking yard to get the car junked. CA DMV will not allow a common person to "Junk" their car if any fee's are due. Been there, done that. Once it is in "Junk" status, fee's and penalties disappear. It is then up to the new owner to re-register it. That means smog, brake and light check. Crazy, yes. But that is what we have to put up with in California. It used to be a car would "Fall off the books" after 5 years. Not so anymore. An unregistered vehicle cannot have it's wheels touch a state road without a moving permit. And guess what? All fee's have to be paid before they give you one. You can legally trailer it, but car dollies are out. Fact is you will probably see a lot of Z's with salvage titles here in California. Nothing wrong with them other than someone took the time to save them from the crusher.
  15. Once a car in California hits a wrecking yard it will usually receive a Salvage Title. A perfect car could be sitting in someones garage. If they have Pick-N-Pull pick it up then they can part it out or sell it whole. If they sell it whole the buyer is responsible for having a Smog, Brake, and Light check done. Then CA DMV will issue a title with "Salvaged" marked on it. Just because it is a salvage noted title does not mean it was wrecked either. Many cars are stolen and stripped to the point that the insurance company writes it off. To me, "Salvage noted Title" means take a closer look.
  16. PM me with an offer. What have you got to loose?
  17. Any interest in a Blitz VGTT turbo timer and a Vielside boost gauge? I can take pictures tomorrow.
  18. Thanks for the information guys. Last time I checked this thread was August 6th. One has been sitting in my garage since the post. Now I will have to go see my friend and give him the news. I was going buy them to put on my 76 Fairlady Z but sold it a few weeks ago.
  19. Late 1976.5~1978 door panels are different. The lock is moved forward about an inch. 74~78 have 3 point arm rests so you can pull the door shut easier while the 70~73 have two bolts.
  20. I've got one. Came out of a 78 5-Speed 280Z A11-601-000 $25 shipped.
  21. Backing out the driveway..... Gone in a flash.....driven away by her new owner Now all I have is some spare parts to clear out. The blue 260Z belongs to a friend. I am not completely Z less. My wife has a 91 300ZX 2+2.
  22. Someone apparently has already done it. You get the harness with them to. http://www.classiczcars.com/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=4111&cat=4
  23. Which harness? I have the setup from a 78 boxed up somewhere I can dig out.
  24. Again, congratulations on finding and saving this Fairlady Z. Now fix it and get it on the road before everyone parts it out for you!
