  1. Yes it is a 280 and that's what I figured but wasn't sure. Thanks all! Now I need to decide whether to put the new springs in or just stick with the old ones -
  2. I took my front springs out to replace with the Tokico lowering springs and they look nearly the same. I did some searching on this but could not find anything. I'm assuming that since the Tokico's are stiffer than the stock springs they should be shorter... I do know that the guy that had the car before me did some mods about 10 years ago, so maybe it already has performance springs? I've included a pic of the springs and how my car sits now, any help would be greatly appreciated -
  3. Sorry that last post didn't work, Here it is in VW Tornado Red
  4. Thanks! I don't plan on going with a full bumper but would like to at least do the sides to give it more of a finished look. Not bad for a total of $10!
  5. Hello all - So I've been running my car for a couple summers now with no real grille other than the stock 280z unit that only covers half the opening in front of the car. I've also had Hella 500 fog lights in there because I've always like that rallye look. Anyway, I've been looking for ideas, tried some of my own and wasn't really happy with what I came up with until I ran across this post - http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/57231-custom-grill-or-grille-ideas/page__pid__839089#entry839089 where Zyler mentioned using a Mustang grille. Before - A friend of mine at a local cruise-in happened to have one that I could have for free, so I figured why not try it? I got to his house, placed the grille in the front end and the fit was near perfect. It even fit over the Hellas without me having to move them! Here is a pic of the grille sitting in - In order to get the new grille in far enough, I did have to cut the signal light brackets out but I wasn’t using them anyway. I originally thought about buying a billet insert to cover the pony, but found some expanded sheet metal I had from an earlier attempt and decided to use that – I like it. A little more straightening and cleaning up and I’ll be all set -
  6. You may have done this already but I had the same problem with mine and it came down to faulty cables. I replaced the positive and negative and it seems to run and charge fine now.
  7. Someone wanted that video gone, it looks to have been removed from about 5 different sites
  8. I think it's a cool idea but the font is wrong and needs to be all caps - otherwise I like.
  9. I'd say keep the Z.. a good friend of mine has a 75 vette, beautiful to look at and probably gets more looks from little kids but as far as power goes they are nearly the same. We mess around on the highway all the time (both cars are basically stock) and are always dead even. At car shows the Z gets way more props (yeah, I said props) from the car guys mainly because there just aren't as many around - vettes are everywhere. Also, after having driven both cars the Z is a much better handling vehicle and I think has way more potential. But in the end, it's all up to your personal preference, so have fun with whatever you choose!
  10. Thanks! I don't have a front on view, have to take some more pictures. I got the Hella 500's, still want to move them back into the grill at least another inch and fabricate a grill that goes the rest of the way down.
  11. The day I picked it up It runs! Put everything back together, picked up 17" RB/RBR combo, Hankook Ventus V12 245/45 Rear 225/45 Front, Poly bushings and dynamat. Lots of work left to do, hopefully a strip and repaint over the winter as well as a set of coilovers and eventually a 1jz swap.
  12. I've been using an app for my phone (droid) called SpeedView that is free, looks great, and is quite accurate. It has a lot of other cool features too, like distance traveled, keeps a log of my speed, and has a compass. Highly recommended if you have an android os phone.. check out the Dynomaster and Trapster apps while you're at it .
  13. I don't know if this will help or not but I had the same problem only the idle would not go below 2 - 3K rpms most of the time. I took the BCDD apart, messed with the idle, timing, nothing worked. It turned out to be a bad vacuum line going to the bottom of the distributor - about $5 worth of tubing and 5 minutes later, problem solved.
