  1. Check your throwout bearing, that was the problem with mine, Fix it quick, mine exploded and some of the bearing casing very into the gears, tearing up somestuff. It's functional but sounds like hell when I step off the gas. -DK1
  2. I'm still in need of one. Anyone in the North east or near Pittsburgh PA? I don't want to pay a TON for shipping. (like shipping from cali) PM, Call or leave a message on this thread. 724-553-6866 Thanks everyone -Jordan
  3. I love the stance of your White Z. beautiful cars.
  4. It was in Popular Science a couple months ago, A company is coming out with a vinyl covering like golf ball dimples that are available to cover cars for greater MPG. Buses and Semi's are usually the first canidates. I'll look for that magazine when I get home I think it's a pretty neat idea, they had a picture of a Scion with the covering on it.
  5. I think it's still a good option if your dash is cracked or just plain ugly. lol depending upon the difficulty of the swap that is.
  6. congrats! I hope all goes well for you and your family -DK1
  7. I have 1995 Dodge Stealth coupe seats in my 280zx, there was a little fab work needed but they fit in the car great (I got them for free)
  8. I don't think it would be too difficult to do by yourself, but since you don't have the time I would consider Vildini. I would love to see pics of the install though, I think it would look really good
  9. Fantastic Z, it's great to keep these on the road I love this build, car looks great!! Best of luck! DK1
  10. If you have the ability to yank the motor and clean the WHOLE engine bay, I would do it if I were you. Otherwise, degreaser, elbow grease and a ton of soap and water will be sufficient. If it's rusty/damaged, the dremel kit may be a worthy purchase if you don't have an angle/disc grinder, which is what I used. Try seeing if your neighbours have a dremel tool kit before you go out and purchase one Best of luck!! DK1
  11. Hey guys, I'm hunting for a motor that is a piece of garbage so that I can take it apart and put it back together, and learn the basic functions of a motor. I do not care if it runs, or anything, as long as it's intact. and able to be taken apart. I just want to practice taking it apart and figuring out how everything works and fits together in a motor. Send a PM or leave a message here. Thanks! Jordan
  12. Where is your location in PA?
  13. Sure, could you give me a total quote by chance? I live in 15044, Pennsylvania. how many miles are on the tranny? (Mine destroyed a bearing and has some nasty nicks and chips because of it)
  14. I need a good 5 speed tranny for my 280zx N/A coupe, east coast is preferrable. Call 724-553-6866, PM, or Leave a message here. -Jordan
  15. I'm in cranberry, pa good to have another Z around.
  16. Found out it was the countershaft bearing that fell apart/exploded that was creating the problem. The trann has less that 100k miles on it, so I was like WTF when the rattling/horrible noises started. I'm glad it was just a bearing. lol thanks for your help guys, I'll look into the 240sx tranny swap for my next Z:)
  17. What trannys will fit on an 83' 280zx N/A coupe 5 speed? my tranny just went and I need to get that thing running again. 280zx 5 speeds are hard to find in PA. will a 280z 5 speed work?
  18. Near PA, must be functional and in good working order. Mine just went. send a message or call 724-553-6866, I'm located near pittsburgh PA
  19. Looking for a repairable 280zx near Pittsburgh, PA. Project cars, not complete garbage. Manual Trans are preferred, willing to pay up to $800 Shells are accepted too

  21. i love the look and color of that car already.
  22. I used a putty knife and lacquer thinner combo, It worked really well. wear gloves though, lacquer will dry out your hands immeadiately.
  23. looks great man!! I did the did the same with my 280zx door cards, They're covered in black marine vinyl. they look great and they were cheap I was really scared about how they would come out (never had done that before) but I was pleasantly surprised.
