  1. Yeah I'm more about the style of it since I always loved Shakotan, zokusha and kyusha Japan cars so I'm hoping to incorporate that in this car eventually. Until then it will look like this till further notice. Pretty sure everyone hates that crowd anyways kinda like the 90's ricers era
  2. After taking a break from drifting, photography, and the girlfriend it was time to finally do something about the Z. After having a moment of weakness and putting it up for trade but it would only last a week. After going to the Datsun fun run it made me consider in keeping my Z, Marshall "stupid fast" mentioned awhile back that he had an L28 sitting so I figured why not.. Taking out my L24 for later use, I got to work to prep the L28 in a night ........ After this sitting for months I figured it was time put this in since I had acces to a lift....makes for great skids, how do I know? Because within the two days I dedicated time to this I swapped out the engine to diff and got it running. Problem was my hesitation or flatlining was still present. Which finally narrowed it down to three things from the dizzy,coil or the fact I didn't have an FPR. Marshall came through for me with an spare e12-80 and finally I got to rev up the car and made a quick skid. Needa do some minor R&R to get it roadworthy but it's good to know I can go on small runs for the time being. Marshall (stupidfast) really came in for me! Now for moar low and get some dam progress!!
  3. Found out the problem. My dizzy took a poo poo and I replaced it with a new e12-80 and now chirpin tires In 2nd. thanks guys for all the insight and I just swapped my motor out for an l28 so I can tear down the l24 and maybe save another chassis.
  4. Yeah but I don't wanna go through the trouble of removing 2 engines and installing one not to mention getting a truck, bringing tools, etc too much of a hassle. Anyways let me know guys

  8. Seems like headgasket 120 across the board when the minumum is 159 ...i think so.
  9. Valves have been adjusted properly when I put the motor together. The cam was off apparently by 4 degrees which has summed up most but not all of the issue. When throttle is applied its smooth until around 2000-2200 rpm and then stops accelerating. If I just hold my foot down to WOT it will begin to pick up with barely any torque but blow out a lot of fluid out of the PCV port out of the side of the block( cant tell what it is).. That being said my oil is very milky but my compression numbers were fine also the radiator doesn't have any milky-ness in it either only found inside the motor. The block is a E31 while the head is a E88 if that helps and going to put up a video aswell while im here
  10. Tank was clean when I got it, checked fuel multiple times, and when i turn the pump on the fuel flows fine.

Car doesnt buck at all it kinda just flat lines dont matter if its 25%-100% car just doesnt go anywhere or rev up at all, I'll take a video next time to sum things up since no matter what gear (even neutral) I'm in it doesn't rev up at all, Although I did noticed my distributor drive shaft has my dizzy at more of a 9oclock position than a 11oclock, so I was going to handle that first and confirm timing,
  12. My setup was in another car and ran perfectly fine without a regulator before and my jets are stock which ran perfectly fine throughout the rpm range (carbs rebuilt aswell) . Only difference now is I have a e12-80 and rewired the car with EZ wire kit. Are the e12-80s clocked differently? Compiling info so when I work on it this week I can know what to look for. Theres no vacuum leaks remaining since we just put in new intake/exhaust gasket which was the only place I had a leak.
  13. I have a l24 with triple mikunis that will not get going for the life of me. After changing out my plugs and cap I finally got the motor to idle fine and turnover in one try. Problem now is when I try to give the car gas it falls right on its face like no other and cant get pick rpms at all. I did a compression test to make sure I didnt have a BHG but it was 115-120 across the board so that checked out. Another thing is I'm running a Carter pump that runs a constant 7psi without a regulator so I'm thinking maybe the cylinders are getting floaded at full throttle? Can my timing be off although I have now a pretty smooth idle? If anyone is in the San Francisco area that cant help me diagnose this problem it would be much appreciated! Let me know if you need anymore info!
  14. Got the car to idle, but idles super duper rough and completely bogs out when I apply throttle. If I hold the throttle down a bit and turn the dizzy clockwise (adv?) it slowly begins to pick up revs but dies out once I let off. I have an e12-80 dizzy along with a entirely new ez wire harness. There's 12 volts at the coil, I took the carbs to make sure their even spraying fuel which they were. If I remember correctly my spark was orange-ish if that helps at all. Just wanna drive my car already.

Well although I have not had a chance to work on my car as much as I like to, while changing jobs yet again in the coming weeks, I just dont have the motivation to stay out late and try to make the car run in a neighborhood who already complained about my car once before. Onto whats going on here. I got some T3 Bumpersteer spacers to slap on to get me motivated to work on the car again...and it worked. Then i remembered these car are old usually owned by some stupid someone. Well somehow they bent the hell outta my sway bar bolt which resulted in a cutting that shit in half. No pics but I got a matching Corbeau bracket for the FX1 and got a quick release. Seems my hub may be too long so a short hub will eventually be purchased but that can wait. After my electrical dilemma I have figured out my starter issue, new alternator, replaced the burnt wires, new ngk spark plugs, put in my gas pedal from my last car and got the motor to start but seems my timing is off yet again after the e12-80 was mounted. Other than that its just a matter of time and patience now. Other than my car stuff our Team Feint Heart group has an official logo working with Attackworks bringing them an idea I had then making into reality. Then a friend named Marshall came by to lend a hand to see if he can see something i wasnt. Lately my car has not been wanting to start but everything checks out ignition, cam, and spark are all on point. But after about hour he thught the samething i did....wtf, start already. Everything ignition related was working fine but a yellow spark made us wonder if the coil was took a poopoo. So we decided that it was possiblilty and marshall offered to grab his coil and dizzy to see if anything changes. Homie thomas came by in his Rocket S14 to come chill while i decided might aswell do my wheel studs. Marshall then arrived after picking up his Datsun from the shop from nail in a tire and down to wire fix. We then tried his dizzy and coil ending up with the same results, although i did take the fittings to carbs off and ran the fuel pump for a sec to see if any fuel was coming out. The fuel was coming out but barely enough so maybe a new lead, until next time peepz.

  19. Just a few moments ago I was going to check my timing since when i started it last week ran like dookie and couldnt rev up at all. I then unplugged the coil and tried to crank over the engine but all i got was what sounded like a slight rotation then motor suddenly stopped, tried it a few sec/mins later samething. I then thought my motor got hydrolocked so got a ratchet out so i can turn the motor manually, sure enough the motor spun freely until it got slightly tighter at one point then easy going again. Then when I tried to crank my motor over with my ignition switch it had a in consitent crank with it slowing down and catching up a almost sounding like it was working against itself. I had to stop since its pretty late but can anyone point me in a direction? Can my timing be off by THAT much? Something bent? Cylinderwalls dry? Motor is a rebuilt L24,9mm rods, arp everything, e88 head with msa valve springs, and mikuni 40's, Hoping to grt a better look at it tomorow.
  20. Charging system needs to be looked at alittle after the ez wire other than that things seem to be working
