  1. I heard about that actually and no i didnt pay very much for it at all.
  2. Just curious but is that stock steering angle?
  3. Nice i wanna go that route eventually but i wanna run this motor till it explodes
  4. Yeah no stickers this time gonna be more subtle...with some stickers lol? Hows everything ozzz?
  5. Well sorry for the delay i totally forgot about this thread but its time to bring it up to speed....along came a spider: This dusty heep of datsun was tucked away in vacaville for a nice shiny penny i seen on craigslist a few days after my accident. I called a friend, picked up a dolley, and headed to pick the beast to replace my crunched metal stuffz. The first night i had it i wanted the monster truck ride height to be done including my rear disk conversion, 15/16 bmc, ss lines front/back, And swap my wheels over. All went well so i got a few hours of sleep called up a few buddies and began swapping the motor over. Got the motor in with slight problems since its really hard to line up a motor in the dark with only various "flashlight" apps everyone provided though somehow it got done. It was then time to say goodbye to my old chassis and brainstorm on the next one. Before my accident I got some decent wheels that i couldn't pass up and figured it was time to revamp the wiring with a 12 circuit EZ Wire harness. Well problem was at the time i was working two full time jobs so i had no chance of working on my car (10am-7:30pm and then 11:00-7:30). So i asked a local shop to do the rest for me and just make it drivable so i can take over the rest. My car sat for about 2 weeks there then i received a call that the shop was closing down. So i asked if i can work on my car until the doors closed, got approved.* So when i finally got settled into working one job I went on a spree... Got things like a Corbeau fx1, grip royal wheel, zx dizzy, zx alternator w/adjuster, msd blaster, racequip 5pt, and got tires mounted on my wheels which are SPINWERKS/CIRCLE RACING 16x9.5 w/ 205/55 in the front and 215/60 in the rears which are temporary tires until i burn them up at a skid pad where i can get 205/50's all around. So yeah u would say Thats pretty much up to date.. P.s- ive been recylcing this post to just get my builds up to date
  6. One saturday TFH set out to Sonoma Drift's Winterjam session for a little bit. Then the next saturday we joined in at Ciy Tech's open skidpad at thunderhill raceway. Thanks for viewing and checkout teamfeintheart.com Dont make shakey camera...crappy tripod
  7. I always got the "is your build on hbz" so i usually say no but now that I made this I'll probably be able to say "yes I do, look up blahblahblah". Yeah the unfortunate stops are always there no matter what car it may be or person at that, just my stop signs are alittle more constant than others hahah.
  8. i never brang myself up to make a build thread on HBZ because apparently slammed/lowered cars are looked down upon since it doesn't have correct "geometry". I thought it would be a good time to finally show my new shell and a little back story on how i got to where i am now. This is going to be my drift car simple, its going to look cool a fuu.............. and get the job done since I've always believed in "i want to drift and look cool as flip doing it". Its going to be low, wide and bright with styles that I like and dont care what you think. So without further ado lets see how I got to where I am now. (before posting this my work computer crashed and had alot more detail so prepare for the photo dumpage to compensate) This was my first WHIP that I had which didnt change much from getting from a homie of mine aside from rebuilding da motor with new bearings/pistons/gaskets/mikunis/etc, yuta special awesomesauce coilovers and then a side of rear disk conversion plus a little purple spaz in the engine bay. Here you can see it through multiple phases from begining to end which ended in a three car pile up. It was only a week or two after the accident where along came a spider to fill in the Black Z's spot... The last two pictures is how the Z currently looks but that will soon change within the next month or so. As of now the Z is waiting to wired for the EZ Wire kit from a shop but the shop owner called me the other day and informed me that he will be selling the shop and wont be able to work on my Z which really really got my Bankai all over the place, in return though I asked if it would be alright if I can just use the shop to do the wiring since its already there and responded with a yes and no storage fee either. Problem is now for the month of October I work 10am-7pm and then 11-7am from tues-friday till the 28th in other words I virtually have no time to work on the Z since their closed on the weekends. I even have some 16x9.5's waiting to be put on the car but I want the car running before I get into that So if anyone is in the San Francisco area or close by to give me a hand with the E-Z wire kit it would be much appreciated since its on a slim time frame and very little time to waste (even pay your for your time). Anyways this will be the place I will host my updates and if not here check Teamfeintheart.com is also where my updates will go along with some other random events like the monthly meets we host and Thunderdrift Pro-Am coverage in the bay area. So until next time!
  9. Well I have a 73 240z with a stock rebuilt l24 from my previous car with some aftermarket bits. Anyways when I turn the ignition all I hear is the relay click and that's about it motor doesn't turn or anything but all the parts transferred over are in working order since I ran the car before I pulled it out for a few months. I bypassed the starter to crank the motor over manually which cranked just fine but after a few seconds after blk/yel wire on the distributor became super hot, with the ignition on it has 12.2volts at the wire. I tried it again manually and removed a plug to see if I was even getting spark but there's no spark coming from the wires either but wires, coil and dizzy are fine. So where do I check next or what should I replace, electrical is my weak point.
  10. I would more than likely try to run mikuni 40-50's with a megajolt or msd ignition of some sort
  11. Hello hybridz folks i was wondering if anyone has triple carbed a 2j before. Im planning on picking one up this coming winter/spring and maybe trading my mikunis 40's for larger 45-50's also would run a better ignition system for the 2j.I would only run it with carbs until i gain the funds to go turbo/efi in future. I would assume i would be able to use the stock z harness with according mounting hardware. Any input appreciated
  12. Just looking for a 240/260z shell for me to swap over all my parts since my Z was totalled on monday. Looking to spend from 300-1000 price range, thx! Im in the San Francisco bay area Btw
  13. yeah thsnks, i was just making sure because it kept falling off, i just bent it out alittle to make it stick.
  14. Is this how the clutch fork/pivot ball retainer suppose to be installed??
  15. So far the options are to purchase parts for the existing oem rack adjustable lcas, tension and tie rods along with rack swaps like the subaru rack, bmw rack and s13 thats been done or in the proccess to completion. Some are harder than others like if you use oem rack alot of steering angle the tire will rub tension rod (i think), s13 has to be set back, and subaru findng the right parts to go along with. So my question is what will get me the most steering angle in any rack situation even introduction of new ideas, yes this is more for my own drifting info but would be nice to know the options. Thanks
  16. Dam this build is great, how much more steering angle did you gain from the bmw rack compared to stock? And did you use the stock mounting points? *subscribed+
  17. Quick question, when trying to put the transmission back i realized the clutch fork slides off the ball pivot retainer spring very easily (retainer that keeps the fork on the) when the it pushes the throwout to its maximun distance. So do i need a different fork or retainer spring? pics of proper installment would be nice.
  18. ok ill take a look at that when i get home
  19. Ive searched and searched before posting this but couldnt find quite the answer im lookong for, I have a 225mm flywheel ( 6 bolt) with a 280zx coupe 5 speed and just purchased the matching 280zx clutch kit. I was having clutch disengagment issues (diagnosed hydraulics) so i dropped the trans finally and heard that the colars are different between the coupe and 2+2 which is 47mm to 53mm i think. So what im asking is do i need the longer 2+2 collar if im only using 225mm, when i try to move the clutch fork all the way back the throwout falls off the fork but i did it in a rush so i can say its concrete. Thanks
  20. Hmmm ok rebekah ill give it a go tonight then hopefully it will do the trick and maybe i can find a pinpoint that will fit the clutch master and bleed clutch master.
