  1. I wouldnt be at all surprised to see this mark beat in the near future by a good rider with a good team. Didnt we just get through miguel indurain(sp?) who also had 5 or 6 tour victories in just a few more years? Lance has always been the king of the tour but he never really did run as many other races(focusing on the tour) as alot of other cyclists Sam
  2. Matt, Go for it.. I have been planning on ordering a set from them for awhile now. Let me know how it goes.. hehe Sam
  3. Where are you located lazycyril?
  4. Talking to prieth (who has the azc big brake set up) and he told me that dave told him he would "need" to turn his rotors after they were mounted to his hats. I'm not sure if this was because of his hats or because of rotors that arent square and true. I have the jsk hats myself but have not had a chance to put them on a lathe to check'em. If these hats atrent true I will not be a happy kiddie. I'm not sure if you would even be able to have a spare set of just rotors that could be turned befor hand and remounted on the same rotors and the same orientation. May need a spare set of hats also.. very annoy9ing if this turns out to be the case. Preith ran into this out the hard way at his school/race event. Sam

    Fuel lines

If you dont want to deal with the flaring and excess fittings there are an->compression fittings out there now. I am going to replumb my car this weekend with hardline. I have also made up some aluminum barstock brackets to prevent any vibration related stress to the system. Sam
  6. Even though the topic gets brought up for all the wrong reasons it seems that we get a few more interesting tidbits of info each time. Thanks, Sam
  7. Ahhh, good to see there are hybridz guys with 510 parts/knowledge, I will need some odds and ends soon. The car is a stripped basket case. Ford 2.3t going into a 2 door in the next few weeks(hopefully) and then the rest of the assembly. I have been sitting on this car for over a year now after bringing it up from NM Im finally getting around to it. Very excited! Sam
  8. WC and non wc cases are the same, only diffrences if I remember right are syncros(fiber vs brass) and the input bearing.. there may be a few others but thats about the gist of it. As for the wc's being much stronger(and worth a custom clutch and bellhousing machine work), I wouldnt bet on it too much. My svo stang which came with a wc t5. I dont know why but it wasnt there when I got the car and from what I know of the cars history it isnt likely that it was just removed for another car. The wc i currently have in it is also not quite right, 3rd gear syncro is out. It came out of a thunderbird and was also rebuilt(at least partially) at one point in time Keep in mind these transmissions are coming from 4cyl turbo cars that are rated at about 200hp that lags behind untill about 3500rpm or so(not alot of torque) t5's suck. I posted a link in the tech forum for an online t5 manual, it highlights the diffrences between wc and non wc aswell as parts/service manuals. Good luck though, I would try it but I think I will just hold out on crazy trans work untill I can get a t56 Sam
  9. I came across some online tech/parts manuals for t5 and other transmissions on another forum and thought they may be helpful since so many of us use/hate them(hate the t5s, love the manuals). I cant seem to own a mustang free of t5 issues even in WC build on a small turbo motor, I dont think I would ever be able to ever really trust one of these boxes. I have noticed there has been alot of talk of using upgraded versions of these trans. lately on the board. Thanks to Bart99GT of the svoca(mustang SVO club of america forums) for finding and posting em! http://www.svoca.com http://www.ttcautomotive.com/English/onlineorder/product.asp#Service%20Manuals on a side note, any chance of creating a sticky for any helpfull online manuals? I know there have been posts here and there for various ones but it would be nice to have a bunch collected in one spot. Sam
  10. 86 mustang svo , 1turbo 1 na z some mustang guys are pretty geeky.. Sam
  11. I just sold my HPI RS4 pro.. Between 3 motorcycles and 3 cars (5 of em over 25yrs old) I have way more than enough things on my "to do" list (actually that should be the to do note book) to take up my time as it is.. poor rc car never got any attention. Sam oh yea, I need to put the vg in my brothers dime, I may aswell count that as mine also.
  12. Well, that .. and the fact that it was machined and built by one of the most well known and respected race shops around. Dont get me wrong, I wouldnt pay it, Id rather build my own like you did.. but people drop 14g on a nice tool box, 9g on a motor from roush isnt too far off base. probably the least expensive complete motor to roll out of that shop. Just glanced at the roush website, 2year/24,000 mile warranty on that motor also.. pretty impressive for the #'s its making. My machine shop and my builder(me) offer no warranties. lol Sam
  13. Probably some other countrys crappy munitions, I'd guess a concussion or training grenade or maybe a multi purpose explosive.. that initial fuse or blasting cap was abit odd. Sam
  14. I was actually unfortunate enough to witness something like this happen first hand.. happened about the same way too.. Idiot who bounced the grenade off a wall(of course it landed at her feet...) stood there and stared at it while a drill instructer tried to push her out of a bunker, she stood there and stared at the little green ball of death.. DI just jumped his ass out, she woke up and followed shortly after. Sam

LOL, I always look out for your posts and updates, I wish I was a little bit closer so I could follow your progress up close! My boss has a GN I cant wait to drive it when he pulls it out of storage in the spring.. I let him drive my svo so he said I would be able to drive the GN.. fair deal if ya ask me! Riding in my turbo cars and having me working on them in the shop all the time has him worked up to start modding his GN which I would most likely be doing the wrenching on so it should be interesting. Back to the point.. just funnin around. one of those guys standin around moments.. I laughed my ass off.. Sam

and the point goes to Drax. **Pulls out his chalk stick and makes a mark on the wall** Sam
  17. What in the world is driving the distro in that car?
  18. I cant even imagine how nice it would be to have a decent workspace (I wont even bring up the grage mahals some of you guys have, whoops just did!) 2 feet from the shower and where I lay my head every night. Good lookin grage! Sam
  19. Anyone want to trade NPR intercoolers? I have a a Large npr intercooler that has had one elbow modified so that the IC fits into both rad core support holes on Z's, what I want is a non modified large NPR. If anyone is interested in this one so they dont have to modify thier own let me know. I will be upgrading the Z's IC and putting the NPR on my SVO.(happens to fit nicely on that car also.. hehe) Also, my IC is slightly damaged, it has been punctured on the bottom bar. It is also slightly dented. This has been rewelded. Thanks, Sam
  20. Cool, good to hear that you guys like it. The more I read up on it the better it sounds, ecspecially the transducers. I can think of about a million places to weld or braze bungs onto my car.. (My car would have many bung hol-ios!! *had to do it haha*) Only thing I really wish it had the capibility for is a basic scan tool, one less thing to lug qround... cheap ones are only 100$ or so and theyre getting pretty small. Guess they want that to dangle in front of people for modis.. hehe Anyone else ? Thanks, Sam
  21. Anyone have alot of experience with one of these? Love it? Hate it? best thing youve used it for? jobs its helped on? The thing break easy?.. stuff like that. I can think of a few times that it would have helped(or at least sped things up) puting ms&s in my car and at work. I might pick one up. Thanks for any info, Sam
  22. I heard a carb'd and cam'd Z with resonators and dual 3" supertraps.. easily the best NA Z I have ever heard.. As for the 5", my buddy has one on his fiat( dual webbers and a header) and it is freaking loud.. so loud it scares the bejeezus out of the ricers in town( my buddy also drives like a madman and thinks because his car sounds like a small airplane that he should practice "flybys" on the ricey honda folks) I'm still tempted to try one on my turbo Z.. backpressure be dammed, at least to hear it once.. Sam
  23. I know cash is king but any chance you would take an 86 svo mustang in trade? hehe If the stars aligned just right and someone bought the 'stang today then I would "getonitdoggonit" and get myself a new Z motor.. just got my l28et situated and I cant stop thinking about the next build.. Come to think of it I would rather build my own little rats nest of wire, hose, line and piping to call a motor(again)! lol. Cant argue with the value of either motor being offered atm though thats for sure. Good luck with the sale. Sam
  24. The driver owns a 240z... funny, maybe we'll see'm drifting that next? Sam
  25. Good luck working out something that will work well for ya. Sam
