I wasn't referring so much to the Saturn not being towable...in fact, it's one of the few cars that truly IS towable because of the pump being located where it is.
My inference was more that Scottie isn't running a Saturn rear end or tranny, and doubt very seriously he would ever consider doing that.
Now that I go back and look at my post above, I apparently hit enter Subnit too soon... The end of the statement should have been: that Scottie would be possible to retrofit parts from to put on his car that would enable him to do the same. It's very unlikely that it's possible at all.
Sorry, I'll have to double check my posts more carefully next time.
Scottie: you could always tow it with the rear wheels on the dolly, steering locked and hope you don't run across any road kill that would rip the whole front end off of the car...

And to think that I thought I was running behind...all I need to finish is the driver's side trailer fender.
The car is done...the tranny adapter works perfectly. The 2004R tranny works perfectly too (shocked, because I built it myself (first time inside an auto tranny)) and with the gearing of the tranny, the 3.70 rear end and my killer turbo stroker L29.6 (that doesn't look right for some reason), I'm able to chirp the tires at EVERY shift, 1-2, 2-3 and 3-4...so hopefully it stays together long enough to make a decent (non-photo op) pass this time.
Still learning to drive it with the manual valve body and ratchet shifter...sure makes it different, but fun nonetheless. Haven't turned on the boost controller yet, and only have a 2.5 lb spring in the wastegate. Can't wait to get to the track and crank up some boost. Gonna be fun for sure.

Is it just me, or has the board's heart stopped? Need an artificial heart or does the pacemaker just need a new battery or something? It's taking FOREVER for the pages to load. All other sites on the net seem to load normally (FAST via DSL Extreme), but not this one. Seems to hang after everything, especially after clicking on New Posts.
Not complaining, just wondering if I'm the only one. Wouldn't be the first time.

Key has to be partially or fully removed from the keyway before it can be activated...and Ron is totally correct...it's mechanical.

The upper ones are for the R200 3.70 VLSD...notice the top left one and the placement of the circlip groove as well as it's length.
The lower ones are for the R200 3.54 OPEN from an 82 ZXT.
Hope that clears it up a little.

OH yeah, you've got a better chance of burning yourself than you do shocking yourself while welding.
Don't test the joint to see if it's still hot or wipe away anything that you think might come off until LONG after the weld has cooled.
And for God's sake, don't weld near brake parts cleaner...that stuff is HIGHLY flammable and will explode violently if the can is arced to.
Just common sense.

How ironic...I did the exact same thing to my ZX about 2 years ago, after installing the Tokico Advanced Handling package...(blue struts with red springs). I didn't like how low the car sat in the back after the install, so I made some spacers almost identical to those. It worked out well, and now the car sits with a nice little rake to it's stance. Alignment was easy but then again, I do have both camber and caster adjusters in the lower control arms.

M4000 series would be the correct code for that year model...just have new keys cut to the code you found and they should work fine.

Just thought I'd throw this in here, as it somewhat relates. If you're interested in painting the rest of your needles on the other gauges to match the Autometer stuff, if you haven't already changed them out too, you can find a PERFECT match for it at some hobby shops. I posted the info in THIS thread but it seemed to have gotten looked over.
Here's a pic where you can see what the stock gauges (in a ZX) would look like if you painted the needles to match. (Sorry about the flash)

Nope, when it left me, it had brand new round tops on it...no clue about the hatch release. Sorry. It looked familiar, but it's obviously not the same car. Woulda been neat if it were though.
I kinda feel the same way about my old 74 260. I had a blue one with the white side stripes, NICE, sold it in 1984 to somebody off of Shallowford Road, in Marietta. Kick myself every time I see the ONE picture I have of it. Oh well, I like my current 82ZXT better now.

That car, the red one that you're looking for, not that locomotive looking silver one, looks ALOT like one that I worked on down in Metairie, LA back in 1983...the owner was from someplace in GA and he drove it down to me to put a set of 72 240 roundtops on it. It was a 74 260 with the old water jacketed flattops on it and I had a set of brand spanking new roundtops. He didn't know how to balance the carbs and I did, so he brought it to me to do the install. I specifically remember the car because of the whaletail and the guy because he had a little green parakeet that rode on the rear view mirror.
If you found ANY evidence of bird poop down by the shifter, that would be the same car. Unfortunately, I never heard back from the guy after I put the carbs on it, so I can't help you with that part, but it would be very interesting if it was in fact the same car.

Looking great Wayne. Sounds like you have gone all out yet again.
I too am in the crunch, as I'm having to do my exhaust system myself, by hand, pie cutting 3" mandrel bends and all that. The exhaust shop that was supposed to be doing it for me yesterday, ended up closing forever last week, spur of the moment. Luckily, I have some bends and whatnot, but what a pain to do with the car on jackstands and not on a lift. Oh well, that's what I get for procrastinating and not getting it there 2 weeks ago.
Lookin forward to seeing you ALL at the DNI Shootout. Response to the event has been GREAT, although to look at the forum site, you'd never know it. It's advertised on about 20 other forums right now and theres talk about it from all over the country. Should be a GREAT turnout...probably gonna be the largest event yet. Definitely gonna be one of the most interesting with all the competitive cars showing up. Hopefully we can all get our stuff done and have a GREAT time.
