  1. I currently have the dash out in the v8 project, and am in the process of installing all of the gauges. My tachometer has some damage on the face, so I'm on the hunt for another one. I called Autometer, and they couldn't help me out with it, so I'm hoping one of you has a broken one laying around that you could sell. I thought about printing out an overlay, but it would look different from the rest of the gauges. I don't want to buy a brand new one, because this one works fine -- it just looks like butt. I don't think there are any other websites / forums that would be able to help me out (other than different car forums), so it seems my resources are limited. Unless any of you have any ideas on how to create my own tach face, this seems to be my best option, so let me know if you have one laying around. Thanks

  2. Well, I was able to make a little more progress this last weekend. I removed the window frames, windows, door handles, did some more prep work, and started a couple of the modifications on the list. All that's left is to sand over with 400 grit, finish the modifications on the list, and paint it...should be about another 8-12 hours of work ahead. Fender look any different to you? :-)

  3. now how about one for an s130 >:D

    2nd that

I really like the way the one sold in the UK looks like, but I've heard the quality is poor (Frank?). Plus, price with shipping was gonna be like $1600-$1700 for just that piece. It's been a while since I talked to the guy, but I'm pretty sure that's the right price.

Really a bummer, because I love how it takes the "boxyness" out of the front of the s130. Oh well, I'll just have to make my own in a few years.

  4. I've read a few flow tests on the best muffler, and flowmaster is almost always at the bottom of the list. Magnaflow is usually lingering around the top. The Dynomax Ultra Flo is supposed to be one of the best flowing which also utilizes a straight-through design. I ended up buying a flowmaster super 40 series, but I plan on running electric cutouts. Even though I don't like the design of the electric cutouts, I still think the exhaust would flow better versus having to go through the flowmaster. I would like manual cutouts better, but they would be such a PITA since I have to jack up the car every time I want to access them.

  5. Yup, I was with my g/f in San Antonio last month when she saw it parked off the side of the road. She told me to, "Check out that Z up ahead," but when we came closer, I saw it wasn't one. I'd never seen a car like it before, so she swung back around for a double-take. Then I saw the Saab emblem on it -- looked like a pretty cool little car. I would've never guessed it was a Saab, though.

  6. A sound clip would be great.

As far as internals, my cam is a .555"/.578", 236/242 roller. I'm also using a victor jr. (also have performer rpm) and holley systemax heads, so she should be able to breath decently well. I would like to use 1 3/4" primaries, but 1 5/8" will have to work. I currently have flows on it right now, but I love the way the camaro sounds in that video. If I can't find anything close, I'll probably end up with a single chamber flowmaster.

I know it's an LS1, but I'm trying to get my '82 sbc to sound like this one. I'm changing my exhaust setup, so now would be a great time to do it. The only difference is most likely the camaro in the video is running duals, and mine will be a single 3" setup. However, with the same muffler, I'm assuming it should sound similar. Thanks

  8. I am not realy sure what exactly happened in negotiations due to editing, but I was wondering why when the other team kept saying that they needed the bottle becuase the z had a turbo, that no one explained that they had a 6 liter enggine and the z had a 2.8 liter engine, so the extra pressure from the turbo made the efective displacement equal. that statement proves the bottle was an extra for them, and not equal to using a turbo.

Those guys would not have understood that math anyhow, I assure you.

Correct you are, I, along with others, pointed that out to them, but like you said, it wasn't to their advantage so they didn't care.

  9. IS IT LOCAL,AND CAN YOU CHECK IT OUT BEFORE SPENDING ANY MONEY?

Yeah, pretty much the only thing keeping me interested was the possibility of it being local. If I saw this on eBay, I wouldn't think twice, but since it was on craigslist, I figured that they wouldn't try to scam a more local buyer. Oh well, live and learn.

You just have a checklist for everything, don't you?

  10. My girlfriend had one of her plants on my television when she decided to water it...yeah. Well, water ran down into the tv and fried it. So, now I'm in the market for a new television, and I've been looking at the 56" Samsung DLP HDTV, which I can pick up at Best Buy for $2000. However, I was looking at craigslist over here, and I found this ad:

    http://austin.craigslist.org/ele/178253152.html

The deal looks very attractive, but just doesn't ad up. At Best Buy, it is priced at $3500, but this guy wants $2300 less than that. The only description he gives is copied and pasted. I didn't know if this was a new (to me) scam that somebody else may be familiar with. I e-mailed him, and am currently awaiting his response. What are your thoughts?

  11. Golf can be relaxing if your expectations are low. In high school, I went to state in golf each year, held high expectations, and pretty much was a nervous wreck after each golf season (well, does it really ever end?). As soon as I was out of high school and just went out to the course to hit a ball around for a while, not under any pressure, it was soooo much more relaxing. I enjoy fishing, but usually I have to bring a buddy / girl with me.

  12. I say the new Z06 -- I've read some of your posts where you rave on and on about how badass they are...and I agree 100%

-The new Z06 a great improvement over the C5, which you've grown fond of (I don't think I read why you sold it),

-it is still quicker than the new GT500, and handling will be no contest

-I believe the Cadillac is pretty much the vette platform, but IMO the vette has the looks, and is probably a bit lighter

    -I beat a C55 AMG with my v8 280zx (and I wasn't at full throttle either)

-I would say the 911 would be a close contender, and I really don't know too much about the new beemers...and from what I remember, WOT is supposed to sound like heaven in the new Z06.
