  1. Alright, after replacing cap and rotor my car wont even bump start and the battery is dead so I cant really test all this fun stuff. I got the distributor from advanced auto parts. How do I check if power is comming out of the distributor? I'm getting like 9 volts to the distributor, so main relay should be fine. Guess Ill check the distributor's ignition coil and see if its in spec.
  2. I replaced the distributor, so that should ex out coil and ignitor. Its not the main relay as I have tested that I am getting power to the distributor. No codes are being thrown. And do you mean spark plug wires?

Now, it is completeley dead, motor will turn but i dont get any spark when I put a screwdriver in the wire and hold it near a ground. However, when I bump start it, it will run for a while and I can drive and let it idle and stuff. But it will randomly die. I have replaced, sparkplugs, distributor, rotor and cap, wires is only thing left but I doubt it will do it. Anyone have any ideas? or want to drive me home in return for a civic that kinda runs.
  4. Contemplating a lil project for spring break/ beginning of summer. I know I could easily make power cheaply by just throwing in a l28et. But something about staying n/a alures me. My questions is, about how much hp would this make. n42 head, with whatever cam could best use the compression f54 block, flat-top pistons mega squirt with n42 intake headers and 2.5'' exhaust I really only need 180-190 whp and equalish torque and was wondering if this could accomplish it. If not, are there any other things I could do to bump it up a bit. I would mainly like to get it maxed out with like 91-93 octane gas. So, if I could bump up compression and run bigger cam I would. Dunno, was just playing around with the numbers, and was looking about at 1,500-2000 to get a turbo motor with intercooler and goodies(minus stuff I would need for n/a swap like clutch,flywheel, fuel etc.) And for some reason I cant explain to myself I wouldnt feel bad spending 1,500ish for 190hp/180tq instead of going the easy route and getting 240hp/280tq.Also, with every hp question post comes a 1/4 mile time question. Do you think a setup like this could see high 13s? I remember searching about this a while ago and getting more results, did some of the older posts get cleared?

    My car didnt start a while ago and then randomly started, when I checked for voltage I got 0 when the car was in accessories and I think I got like 5 volts when the car was running. God only knows whats wrong with it, but its starting and running now.

    Im pretty sure you wont hear anything because a 280z doesnt prime like newer cars.

    Hook a battery up to the gas pump under the car and try starting it. Random thought: I dont know whats worse, all caps or caping the beginning of every word.
  8. So do you have to change out your halfshafts when you get a kaaz lsd? This is what im confused about, i'm not 100% sure if its a direct boltin(minus spacers) into a datsun r200.
  9. They stopped making 10mm Nismo Units, and I'm not really sure if they had a 12mm version Nismo Unit. Now, From what ive heard, you can use a Nismo unit for a 240sx, althought i'm still not quite 100% sure. Some reading. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=92808&highlight=240sx
  10. So thats 1 yes, and 1 it could work? Anyone with a more definate answer? I'm pretty sure it isnt just a bolt in and am wondering what is required for it to bolt in and work.
  11. I know i've asked like 17 lsd questions but humour me please. If I bought an lsd for a r200 on a 240sx, what would I have to do to get it to work in my r200 on my datsun? Will it just not physically fit? wont bolt up to gear? mix n match stuff? Stupid question, appreciate your time on an answer.
  12. Update: It kinda runs, checked voltage to fuel pump, when key is at the click before starting it reads 0volts. When it starts and runs it reads 5 volts. Is it supposed to do this? also, on my wiring schematic it says there is a fuse between the pump and the ign switch, where is it?
  13. Car is not starting, and Ive been messing around under my dash. The buzzer for the door started going off and annoying me so I cut it off. Now car wont start, dont know if it has any relation to buzzer or not. Thanks.

  15. I only saw the last 30 minutes, anybody know what the build up was? I kinda missed that part, I heard of a cam swap and cryed when i saw a domestic carb. But yea, 22 second pass is a big negative.

  17. Just got a set of fiberglass flares and some areas dont fit so snug. Was wondering if there is a method to bending/molding them? heatgun? Thanks for your time.

  19. Sorry to dust this bad boy off, but i just got some imsa flares and was wondering if anyone has a description of welding in the inner and outer fender. Dont really understand this.
  20. From what i've gathered, you need to get a 12mm lsd unit (10mm dont really exist anymore) and then need to make spacers so that the 10mm bolts you have now will fit snug in the 12mm holes on the lsd unit.
  21. So does anyone think these could work on a z? I havent really dealt with the z's front suspension. On that ziptied post they say something about having to adjust out the added toe, can you do that on a z?

  25. refering to when my friend is parked and turns his wheel all the way and the wheel is almost perpendicular to the car. Where as when I turn mine all the way it is a little disapointing. He has aftermarket tie rods, but ive also seen people use spacers, didnt know if anything like this exists for a z.
