  1. sorry for the delay ive been really busy and lost track. The headers kinda wanted to point towards the passanger side so i had to pull the collectors towards the drivers side about 1" with a come-a-long and a tow strap. ill try and get some pics up if i can find my camera. I am using a t56 out of a lt1 car so the clutch master cyl hangs down right where the exhaust needs to be on the drivers side so that header may not need to be moved on your setup.
  2. As far as i konw ther isnt any that fit very well in the JTR mounting setup, I have a set of long tubes on the car now but i had to tweak them to fit. They hang a little low also so if your wanting to lower the car and drive it on some rougher roads the exhaust will scrape. The headers i am using are the Sandersons C32 heres the url
  3. I am trying to find where to install the sleeve for the coilover in the rear of my 260 2+2. The springs a 10in 200lb and the sleeves are 4in long. I have asked a few people and searched thrugh all of the posts and didnt find anything for the 280 type suspension just 240.
  4. Im changing the timing belt on a 01 lexus GS300 and the cam seals are leaking but im not sure how they are "properly" changed. Dose anyone have a good write up or a link of where i can find one? Thanks
  5. Its easier if remove the differnetial out of another car and swap into your car. The best way to fix your issue of wanting to lower the rmp's wile crusing is to put in a transmission with a overdrive gear. The 700r4 works well and many people have had good luck with in them in many differnt applications. With a taller gear ratio in the differntial will only lower your rpm at highway speeds about 400-600 rpm and in the prosess you will loose the acceleration advantages of the lower gear ratio.

What are your plans with the car?

  6. i have it in my car now but, i am looking for a bolt in swap gear and pinion change for better top end with the th-350 tran that i have i am shifted out at 40 mph cruising speed which sucks. Would that bolt in?

  7. Im looing into Weld Racing Draglites for my car and i would like to upgrade the front brakes as well when i do the wheels, either mainly the sloid rotor or vented possibly other setups if they fit. I would like to use either a 15x4 with a 2.25"BS or a 15x5 with a 3.5"BS, thats the only backspace they offer in the widths listed. Im ok with using a moderate spacer but nothing radical to make them fit. Searched for a few days but wasnt able to find what im looing for.
  8. do you need that r200? i have a zx and dont need my 390 i need more top end with v8 would it fit my car?

  9. what wires do you need to find, ie ing hot, starter sol., constant hot?
  10. they have a r200 with a 3.36 ratio but its not a common ratio, i konw this because i just took it out of my car.
  11. What is a good spring rate to start with on a 74 260z 2+2 327 sbc for street/strip and some spirited drivng also. Ive seen 225-250 ratios and a 250-300 if i remember correctlly but im not sure how well it worked.
  12. With the bar not moving much at all at the one end that moves, no more than 1" in either direction. Is that to much of an pivot arc and put the rear a arms in a bind, even with the link bar being around 30-36" long? The car is also a 2+2 so the distance from the a arms to the trans is longer.
  13. ive got a 260z 327 6 speed the car isused for weekend crusing and events at the local drag strip. My rear a arm bushings are shot from the a arms pushing forwards and the rubber is now gone allowing the arms to shift forwards and backwards. I have already ordered new poly busings to replace them. Is there any other changes i should make to the rear suspension other than the ususal shock/coilover and axle upgrades? I had an idea of making a link bar that would go from the rear a arm to the frame rail up near the trans. The bars would keep the a arms form pusing forwards on the busings and blowing them out again.
  14. Thats just about how im planing on mounting my oil filter. Should i to keep the bypass for the oil filter or remove it, thats the main thing im trying to figure out. What filter mount did you use for your setup?
  15. Is anyone using remote oil filters with there sbc swaps to make filter changes easier? My car has long tube headers witch run under the filter and its a royal pain to change the filter and not make a huge mess all over the header. Im not sure what parts to buy if i do move the filter off the block, witch one of these would be a better choice of the two. this http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CTR-22-580/ or this http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CTR-22-592/ thanks
  16. My 327 in the Z has a leaking rear main seal, its making a huge mess and is going to get to my clutch very soon but it needs to be replaced anyways. Is there any tricks to help prevent it from happening again once the new seal is installed or just cross my fingers and hope for the best that it seals for a while. The engine has a new oil pan gasket felpro P/N OS34509T that was installed when the engine got all new gaskets because it leaked everywhere when it was pulled form the old car. The engine ran on a break-in stand for a few short periods of time and it never leaked there so im led to believe that its not the oil pan. The flywheel is basicly throwing the oil outwards and its getting oil all over the back side of the flywheel, starter, bell housing, headers, frame rails ect thanks.
  17. they need a trim ring or to be recessed Here is a an idea http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/69-pontiac-firebird-trans-am-tail-light-lenses_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem2302ec8d17QQitemZ150372912407QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
  18. Iv a set of sbc heads and not sure what exactly they are, there bolted to an engine so i cant measure the valve size. The casting humber is 3991492, Mortec says there LT1,Camel hump, accessory holes,64cc, straight plug and they do have acc holes. Ive looked at a few other sites and half say regular camel hump heads and some say there 1970 LT1. Is there any way of confirming and will they support around 400-450hp? Thanks
  19. What u heard is true, i take it out here and there just a few minor touch ups to finish it up.
  20. if you dont mind tweaking them they will fit, the end of the passengerside collector will need to be pulled towards the center of the car about 1"-1.5". The drivers side will fit aroud the steering shaft and most trans but i had to pull it to clear the clutch slave cylinder witch hangs low and wide right where the exhaust would need to be routed. The trans is a Tremec T56 out of a LT1 Trans Am. I will try to post some pics tommarow. http://http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CHEVY-HEADERS-SBC-FORD-32-53-F100-street-rod-hot_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem4399e160cdQQitemZ290344493261QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
