  1. The bolt pattern to the block was wrong wasn't even close ( and i thought that all sbc had somewhat of the same mounting pattern on the block with the exception of some being drilled for a diagonal pattern and straight pattern). And the nose didn't even come close to the flywheel...Im going to go today and pick up another starter from a different parts place cause im starting to think that it was boxed wrong or something.
  2. I went to get a starter for my z which im putting together and it has a t5 out of an 84 camaro and the block is a 350 from like a 78 chevy truck and a 153 tooth flywheel between the two. So i figured that i could get a starter for an 84 camaro with a 305....WRONG...Doesn't fit at all. What starter should I be asking for at the parts store?
  3. Awesome car man...thanks for posting the vids and stuff of it!!
  4. Cool car, what diff and axle setup are you using in the car?
  5. Wow, thats pretty crazy...I have had a 406 in my stock suspenion vega for the last couple years with a Lunati crank and rods....Same stuff your using there. And i have sprayed it to a 6.50 at 109 in the 1/8 and now I know for sure im going to get it all magged and checked before it goes back together. How high do you normally spin it?
  6. Holy Crap!!! Is that a lunati crank? What rods?
  7. So does anyone know or did I post this in the wrong place?
  8. Ive got the 7/8 master cylinder mounted in the car and don't really want to pull it back out if I don't have to. I have the slave mounted on the t5 with a -4 line. Wondering if someone can tell me what fitting the Tilton M/C is it tapped for....I thought it was 1/8" npt but i was wrong. Anyone know??? James
  9. These are a bit pricey and they are a block hugger long tube design.....but they work in the z with the jtr setup and they are 1 3/4..... http://www.headermania.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=H&Product_Code=5205&Category_Code=STREETROD
  10. Didnt know if anyone had used these headers with the JTR setup but.....I decided to chance it and bought a set of their cheap raw material block huggers and they fit perfect with the JTR setup, pretty thick flanges, 1 5/8 primaries, 2.5" collectors, a little 2k degree black header paint and they look excellent .....I think they were $85 dollars........sorry about the camera phone pics..... http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=SUM-G9060&N=700+301555+115&autoview=sku
  11. Looks good man, that exactly how im gonna do mine but on the other side cause I have to clear the starter.
  12. Where did you buy the v band flange and clamp for the downpipe off the turbo and are you gonna use mild steel or stainless?
  13. Hey dave im probably getting ahead of the game but where do you plan on routing the downpipe?
  14. Looking good man, what size are the crossover pipes?
  15. I have a couple pictures, will have some more after this weekend. Are you gonna be working on the car on Sunday? Id like to come up and take a look at it. I live about 10 minutes from you. And this is our makeshift cam breakin and check for oil leaks rig, motor ran good.
  16. Filled up this morning in san diego for $1.87.
  17. Hey I read your thread the other day about running 7.1 down at the stadium congrats, that is moving for that setup. Kinda funny though cause when I read aboutyour last runs at the stadium I was going to comment saying how badass your car would be with a single turbo setup. I actually got my z all tore apart in my garage right now doing a single blowthrough setup with an older airesearch t4. Where exactly do you live at in san diego, I'd like to meet up with you sometime and check out your stuff in person. And oh yea, your looking to gain a 100 hp hahaha man I think you should be able to tack on at least another 200 to 250 with low boost and a.safe tune. James
  18. Thats what im talking about, that first motor is awesome. I dont think people give enough credit to stock sbc parts. Im really looking forward to finishing my turbo setup and driving it around some now.
  19. Hey dustin is your crossover 2.5 or 3 inch?
  20. Cool thanks, hey with the turbo mounted that low have you had any problems with the return to the pan?
  21. Man I dont want to be a pain but do you have any pictures showing the downpipe to the crossmember?
