  1. set of 240z bumpers in San Francisco Bay area http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/pts/1645753501.html
  2. I have one, doesn't have the brackets, but its in pretty good shape, could use a re-chroming
  3. I have bumpers, dont know if you need them or not?
  4. I have a set of front and rear 240 bumpers, let me know if you want pics
  5. The LD28 is the easiest swap, they are available out of 81-83 nissan maximas, there is also a marine version but it is less desireable with its extra piston ring it revs less, lasts longer but makes less power. There are also some sd versions that might bolt up but they are 4 bangers.

  6. send me some pics

  7. how much you selling your bumpers

  8. Any links to some posts specifically about this setup would be appreciated
  9. Hey guys I have been reading some of the older posts on the problems with some of tokicos springs and shocks, is anyone aware of problems with a eibach spring and tokico 5 way setup? Im asking because I had mine done this way and although the suspension feels better, something doesnt feel right.
  10. And to rolling parts comments, its not just about "custom muscle engine builds", and if he has 400,000 miles on original L28 cam and rockers, imagine how many miles might be achievable with the additive!
  11. All im saying is, it cant hurt and id rather not learn the hard way
  12. Has anyone considered using the toyota calipers and 300zx rotors in the rear, as well as in the front?
  13. Thanks travlnman, after doing much of the same reading, as you did, i decided to go woth the zddp, simpy because it wasn't just Z guys who were having problems, it was MG guys and muscle car guys as well, here is are a few of the links I found warning about the lack of zddp in newer oils, [ay attention to the last link I posted which is from engine professional magazine. http://www.ttalk.info/Zddp.htm http://www.hotrod.com/techarticles/engine/flat_tappet_cam_tech/oil_summary.html http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1383829&page=1 http://www.compcams.com/Base/pdf/FlatTappetCamTechBulletin.pdf http://www.aera.org/ep/downloads/ep1/EP012008_8-16.pdf
  14. Hey guys im looking for a set of 240z bumpers and zg flares, flares are not as important but really want bumpers
  15. I stripped it out reefing on it but I managed to get just enough of it out to get a pipe wrench on it. The pipe wrench did the trick, then I replaced the plug :D

  16. Yes the lack of zddp can do alot of damage to cars with flat tappets, lifters, or like our z's have, "followers". Im not knocking STP's stuff im sure it works just as well, I mean the bottom line is as long as your getting the zddp in there, thats all that matters and the reason it is crucial for our engines is because zddp is an extreme pressure additive, which all the above mentioned engines experience ad it creates a slicker lucricating surface on the flat tappets and specifically the surface of the cam lobes.
  17. To travlnman, yes diesel oils have high zddp, but many, not all, do not hve the ability to keep the engine clean. Crane cams ad comp cams both sell a break in oil additive with high zddp that can be added to any oil, even synthetic and it only takes one bottle
  18. Yes im kind of confused, I thought most diesel oils were high in detergents as well, but I also understand that detergents can be bad for bearings and seals, destroying proper lubrication...
  19. i am thinking of swapping an entire ld28 and running veggie oil for a daily commuter, i have a 76 280 that im gonna keep gasoline, but want something different for daily driver
  20. ok i was under the assumption that the L-series engines were flat tappet cam engines and would benefit from zddp, am i wrong?
  21. hey guys i have been reading alot about zddp and i know its kinda old news but i wanted to let you guys know i found a really good zddp product, its made by comp cams and its not a break in lube only for applying directly to engine parts, its an oil additive, it looks and smells jut like motor oil, i called comp cams and they told me it would bring the zddp levels up to about 1400-1500ppm. this stuff definitely helps i noticed almost right away that my head ticking quieted down, my start ups were quite a bit smoother especially when cold. i bought it off the shelf from a speed shop in san jose, ca, cost me $15.00 from what i have discovered there are other oils and addtives with zddp, but not the correct ppm which is 1400-1800, and it can be added to synthetics as well just though i would share
  22. Sorry, I honestly don't have a clue where to look for them. I got lucky with mine: a buddy of mine and I were talking about diesels, I mentioned I was looking for an LD, and he said he knew of one still in it's shipping crate that he could get me. Best bet, start looking on CL, and in junkyards for a complete diesel maxima. Drive it till the rest of the car is dead, then pull the engine.

  23. anyone know a good place to source an LD28? ive been searching for diesel threads cant seem to find many
  24. ok guys got a problem, changed the oil today with 10w-30 and added one quart of lucas oil stabilizer, now i added the oil yesterday and changed the filter but did not run the engine until today, now the head seems extremely loud and something doesnt seem right, idk if its cause i added the oil and let it sit overnight or cause of the lucas, anyone have an idea, im scared something is damaged
  25. does anyone think 10w-30 is too heavy to run in an L28 along with lucas oil stabilizer?
